gaphary: The reason Nigerian schools would wanna send it directly to uni-assist or any other school for admission processing is to eliminate the third party (the owner of the transcripts) so as to prevent u from editing it ( u know how dubious we nigerian students are) students fit Edit hin third class enter First Class and God sef go fear. Well, the good thing is that you guys pointed out that in a 'normal' situation. Things don't happen in nigeria normally. We might be entitled to get it free but somehow we still pay 5k and wait weeks for it to be processed.
I donno how they came up with the law but your transcript is mailed directly to the address you provide not given to you. This is the normal thing in nigeria schools and situation we deal with, its not like I made it all up. To us this is 'normal' so stop comparing us with advanced schools.

Nigeria should grow up......................don`t take pride in this abnormal lifestyle.................lol...........

gaphary: Well, in Oau, every student is entitled to have a certified copy of his/her transcripts( *for personal record), so u can use it for admission if u want), they would even tell u during convocation. But when it comes to masters admission processing, that's when they'll tell u to put down the address of the school, and pay #2k( Mind u, na Nipost dem go use, and e go tey before e reach that school) So, u can tell them u wanna use courier,(just buy like #500 recharge card give them) that's all. Therefore there's no big deal in having ur transcripts afterall na the results of the exam wey u write. There's nothing jaga jaga about it.

This is how a normal University should handle things..............You should have your transcript..........it is your right..........but some schools make you believe its an abomination.......lol.........

UK and Nigeria are two very different places. With different system of operation.

In a normal education setting.........u are entitled to have your transcript.........simple and short..............what quality of education do u get in Nigeria anyway? its way behind........sure everything else is behind........imagine how easy things would have been having your transcript at your disposal...........life would be easy...........whats the big deal about transcript anyway? when in advanced countries if you loss your certificate, they issue you another one..............pls don`t talk about Uk and Nigeria having different operation because its a shame Nigeria makes everything difficult for no reason.............even to get ordinary reference letter you will wait for weeks.........even the so called transcript, you will wait for weeks or months too..........when i can get it immediately...........it`s no big deal........you are not asking for blood donation.

Normally you just pay money to your school and they send it to the school abroad requesting for it

In the uk your transcript and certifcate is given to you by hand free of charge and if you need for it to be posted to any university in the world, you are not required to pay a penny...

Who told you transcript should not be given to him? Lol..............omg...........Nigerian Universities have brain washed a lot of student who rightfully should be handed their transcript along with certificate in less than 2weeks after graduation.......
Now listen up you guys....you are entitled to have your transcript by hand and if any school says it wants transcript sent directly from the university then you must ask your university to send it directly...........
It is your right to have your transcript and certificate.........you didn't steal it and of course it belongs to you.........that's how it's done in advanced countries........

Put your city and search........it will show you available accommodations....be ready to call the phone numbers you see there and be ready to hit the road if you are told to come check the house.........mind you, most houses are unfurnished.......i insisted i want a furnished one so i took my time to search for it and got lucky..........wish you luck with your search

In my opinion i would say don't bother presenting your statement of result as it will show conflicting grades and will make all confusing to who ever is looking at the results for assessment.....just try to apply for summer now with the transcript you have if you cannot get the correction done now.....don't draw attention to the error, afterall people with 2.2 gain admission in German Universities....make sure you have a good motivation letter............apply to atleast 5 schools.............and still try to get the transcript corrected while you wait for your admission, coz you may still need it for winter application or for PHd........stay strong.....and be decisive......

I would get one of the best lawyers in town and sue that school if i were you.....am sure i will make millions out of that case.... Am sorry...but if you really are not the type that likes to exercise your right, i would say maybe you could give the application for admission a try.....just apply to many schools as possible, you may get lucky..........i think you will........cheer up!!!

gaphary: Seriously. I dig ur opinion. I made same mistake of sticking to a particular course (msc Economics) which has a restricted admission. I applied to like 3 schools and I was rejected by all. If I had know I'ld have mixed it with other courses rather than put all eggs in one basket. this time I ain't gon make same mistake.

emeka55: Well, that's ur opinion. Mine is different. I didn't tell him to do it, I just stated what I'd do if it were me and no one said anything about desperation to enter Germany! If one does proper research, one could see that the same course that requires Ielts and Toelf in one Uni may not require it in another Uni. Also people have gone for related courses simply because the course they were applying to required GMAT and they just couldn't start to write Gmat. Tope once stated also that he took International business not because he truly wanted it but most courses are restricted and he applied for a related course to enhance his admission chances.
The focal point is getting admitted to the University even if it is not ur desired course and when u get there u can make a better plan. Than sticking to just one course area and be praying till u get picked cos one may have Ielts, Gmat, Toefl etc and still be rejected in 15 Universities.
If travelling to Germany is also not part of ur excitement, why don't u apply to University of Ibadan or Uniport?

If u have a better idea, u can share with him instead of quoting my post

emeka55: I don't know if u are applying for Bsc or Msc but most Universities don't require Toefl or IElts from Nigerians and some would tell u to present a confirmation that ur Bsc was taught fully in English and ur English is good. Just very few of them do. Instead of me to spend about 50k writing toefl or ielts, I'll look for a Uni that does not require it or simply change my course till I get there. Then I'd probably use the money to run applications or save it for my insurance

What is more depressing is when they ask questions on behalf of their brothers or sisters that are also matured graduates. I know the kind of research I did on different sites before I came across this thread and I had to read through. Just watch someone will soon come here to ask "I want to study in Germany, what do I need?" Or "I need a list of schools in Germany to apply for Summer"... Oh dear lord!
