bunburized: I was at the german embassy yesterday to authenticate photocopies of my credentials so I can send them to uni-assist as well as german institutions I wish to apply for their masters programme as suggested by some members of this forum.
However, the person I met there insisted I show proof that I want to apply for admission to a german institution before they can "sight"/authenticate the documents.
It is either I haven't understood the procedures as directed by some people here or the man just wanted to be difficult.
He turned me back and requested I come back with proof before they can do anything.
Please house I need help and answers asap.
Firstly, what exactly constitute proof?
I need someone to explain what I need to do exactly as I am totally new to this.
I am yet to apply to any university but I want to send my documents to uniassist in time so they can evaluate my credentials before the admission into the summer programme begins.
I hope to go back there tomorrow so I need direction as to what I can do to have my documents autheticated at the embassy.

Going for a Bachelors degree or Masters degree u do not necessarily have to go to the German Embassy for authentication, you can go to any notary public; that is a lawyer to attest your documents as true copy of the originals.....u can also go to a court for it...........i used a lawyer friend to do mine that was it........uni-assist will take any of these and your university will take it too......

dmitroika: is it compulsory to pay the semester fee to the school before going for the interview? the interviewer asked me at the embassy and i told her that i'll pay when i get to germany. is there any of you guys that didn't pay the semester fee before getting the visa?

Maybe some schools make it compulsory you pay but i can tell you that my school did not mention any payment until i get there and when i had my interview i was asked if i paid any money yet and i said No...........so no worries.

nkenyy: Please house the last part of the residence Permit form
that says " I hereby apply for a residence Permit for ------ days/ months". Should it be filled?
Am asking because there is a an instruction before it that says it shouldn't be completed if made outside Germany. Please am I right of should I fill it.

I hereby apply for a resident permit for 2 years...........that's if your course is a two year course and if one and half you can put 1.5 years.............

Yes, they can ask countries surrounding. You should know there are 9 countries including: Denmark, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, France, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg...i was asked but as i was listing and got to the 5th i was told to stop......on many occassions though......stop...wait... Okay...stop...that was always what the woman was saying when i answer her..

i was asked abt accommodation too and i said i have applied for it online that it is under processing.......chikena...

lol...............well, he said probably which is another word for maybe.........meaning he said maybe some private universities.......Probably or maybe is used to express uncertainty, for example when you do not know that something is definitely true...........so u guys way attend private universities should not crucify this guy oooo........it was just an innocent expression........lol

I had same worry too when i did my application coz i have my original birth cert, after much findings on this issue i did not submit any age declaration....i wasn't even asked about it at the embassy, neither was i asked to provide NPC birth cert...cheers!!!

I did not use any Secondary School Testimonial too and on my WAEC certificate i pinned WAEC scratch card on it but the card was never scratched to confirm my O`level result.........this does not mean anyone applying should not attach the scratch card though......doesn`t cost much anyway.

topeajis: Man U don't need insurance for visa interview as a student. After your visa is ready the embassy will mail u to come with a three months travel health insurance which will be valid form the date u wish to travel the same date on the insurance will be same on ur visa. So u will need another insurance when u get to Germany . Travel health insurance is different from health insurance the travel health insurance is meant for traveling risk and loss of baggages. The health insurance is meant for ur health in Germany don't mix things up..

Yeah, you will transfer twice..GTBank transfers a max of €6k perr transaction, you can complete the transfer next day.
