bamyet: Hello everyone, I will like to help my younger sister to secure German student visa, I have few questions to ask and I will like if you can help:

1; Can she be admitted to study English Language Degree course with her ND result in Civil Engineering?

2: I have a friend In Germany ready to sponsor her, can we use him?

3: Can you advise me of schools that can accept and when?

Answers as follows:
Firstly: i will like to point out that you did not mention if she is planning on applying for a Bachelors degree or Masters degree but from the ND result i will answer you with the assumption that its a preparation for Bachelors degree
1... ND means National Diploma...in other words she has more qualification than O`level.....so she will definately get an admission into a German University for an Undergraduate degree but from what i understand, most undergraduate courses require German Language Certificate because they are mostly taught in German Language or taught in both German and English Language....But am sure if you search pretty well you may find schools that are taught 100% in English Language and make sure it doesn't require German Language Certificate as a criteria for admission...

2... If your friend is ready to sponsor her, you guys should be able to show proof of relationship and mostly it should be a close one....and she should be ready to answer questions about her sponsor because it is expected that she should know her sponsor well if it is really genuine....

3...As for the schools, you can search here yourself https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programs/de/
click on this to open....then on degree level select bachelor , next: select field of study, next: select subject, next: select language course next: click on search.....(Make sure you check the requirement well and mode of application before concluding on which University to apply to)

oh, i guess they're still busy with the applications them. i believe they will give us the visa because if they won't they would have sent an email to us since. i'm going to the university of freiburg. you? and are you the guy from uniben that came with a lady on the appointment day?

If they will not issue y0u the visa, you would have gotten an email to come to the Embassy after about 5days or less..........when i was waiting for my visa i was praying not to hear from the embassy atall until after 3weeks because the guy that was interviewed same day as me got a mail after 4days and he was denied visa.........but fortunately for me i got a mail after 16 working days.........so u can chill ....and thank your stars you didn`t get a mail after 5days.........lol...........meanwhile i wanna say congrats in advance.

joeblack21: thanks again for you reply.but can I do my age declaration any time because my mum did the affidavit and the NPC birth certificate has been issued to me but a clause on the affidavit my mum did says: his birth was not officially registered and hence this affidavit.....hope this is not a problem?

Affidavit is used to get NPC and since you have your NPC ........just go and get your age declaration........remember you only need Age declaration and NPC for the Embassy.........

If you have lost your original birth certificate you can go do affidavit and then go to get your NPC birth certificate.........this applies to anyone born before or after NPC is been used........In other words, if you have been born way before the use of NPC for example in 1977 and have lost your original birth certificate you must do affidavit and age declaration because a clause on the age declaration says : At the time of your birth, your birth certificate was originally registered but later got lost.
When you go to court make sure you ask for 2 things (1. Affidavit , 2. Age declaration) you will get the new NPC certificate with the affidavit and you must to the Embassy with both ( Age declaration and NPC).....for those of you born before 1992 and still have your original birth cert, just know you can go to the Embassy with it and for those born after 1992, you must go to the Embassy with NPC....
Note : that you should go to court with 2 passport photographs of you and one passport photograph of who ever is standing a parent.........One passport of you and your parent will be attached to do the affidavit for you..........the remaining passport of you will be attached to your age declaration..
Getting NPC may take like 2weeks but if you want it urgently you may be asked to pay 6000naira and collect in 3days instead of normal 2500naira

Ogbeche77: yes, you can address it to the embassy in lagos since that's where you want your doc notorized, but make copies of it before u get to the embassy, cos as I heard, photocopy na ripp off for that end, I believe the gurus will answer the other question of who and the address of the embassy

You do not need any transit visa. Emirates stops over at Dubai, KLM stops over at Amsterdam, BA stops over in London, Lufthansa in Frankfurt, this does not mean you need a visa for stopping over, you aint stepping out of the airport until time for your connecting fight. Cheers.

Hey, when i saw this post i couldn`t stop laughing because when i went for my interview i was confident i would get my visa because my interview went well but on my interview day i met a guy who was also interviewed, after my interview i left, he had his interview too and later called me to ask about the interview but something struck me when he pointed out the D not written on his own stamped page, he said he applied before and was denied and then there was D written on it which means that it was a Denial but his new stamp does not carry D and he was happy........immediately i checked the stamp on my passport and i almost fainted as i saw the capital D written. Same day i mailed my University to tell them about it and i was told the visa type is D, also means Deutschland, i got to chat and called some people here who also confirmed there was D on their stamp too and they got their visas. After 14 working days i got a mail that i should come with my passport and 3 months travel insurance. Same day i took time to look at my old tourist visa to Germany last year and i saw visa type C, after i got my student visa i compared and saw visa type D........so for whoever is worried now and those who may be worried in the future i would say it calls for no alarm.
