That used to be a kind of tradition among top clubs until they started becoming too greedy to win all the trophies thereby using almost all first team squad. Before now, we used to see the likes of Arsenal using their second team which is mostly academy boys, same with Chelsea, Man U and Co untill they all started aiming to win at least a trophy, two and three like the over greedy Man City in a season and the whole thing changed.

Any player playing in UCL during the week should either be rested during the weekend, or play substitute.

Clubs should be reasonable and stop constantly trying to win everything at all cost.
