I have been to the factory and have a relative working there.
Apart from procuring raw materials, the amount spent on power alone is bogus. They are totally dependent on diesel.

In my opinion, I expected all industries to be located around Ikot Abasi which has the power plant and access to water transportation. It's not about isolating industries for political purposes

Apart from bamboo and newspapers, every other material and equipment inside the AKEES Pencil and Toothpick Factory is imported from China.

From raw materials — urea formaldehyde, toothpick bleach, graphite, eraser, ferrule, sleeves — to all production machines. Everything.
