huh

Jonathan is a prime example of not all men are men.

Obasanja and his cohorts made a grave mistake by picking Jonathan over ibori for the office of the president ...ibori would’ve made us proud huh

Jonathan lacks balls - Political wise and family wise .... his wife runs the home.

I wonder what he’s going to tell buhari huh Beg him to be as weak and stupid as him or beg him to come and fix the bridge linking rivers state with bayela state? huh

AMALGAMATION OF 1914: Was it a mistake?

The late Prime Minister of Nigeria, Sir Alhaji Abubakar Tafawa Balewa was reported in 1952 in a speech in the Northern House of Assembly, Kaduna, that 'the Southern people who are swarming into this region daily in large numbers are really intruders.

We don't want them and they are not welcome here in the North. Since the amalgamation in 1914, the British Government has been trying to make Nigeria into one country, but the Nigerian people are different in every way including religion, custom, language and aspiration. The fact that we're all Africans might have misguided the British Government. We here in the North, take it that 'Nigerian unity' is not for us'.

Nigerians are bulldogs.....

Only perfect in Barking but can not bite.

The day we decide to face our problems practically, then, our liberty is guaranteed.

"The president goes practical in all his actions our while Nigerians respond theoretically" (hiding behind social media) to address very sensitive issues that affects us and our unborn children now and forever.

He has seen the fear in us.....he will never stop treating the masses like rags.

When you fear death, you can never claim braveness.

Tip:
Stop fighting yourselves on tribal sentiments. Your leaders are your problems.

Channel your grievances openly to them.

They didn't elect themselves.....you put them there.

They must be held accountable for all their actions, good or bad.

Was barawo bubu disciplined then even?

- locking up Fela and journalists for having a different opinion from his,
- letting Idiagbon go on hajj with his underage son

- as well as massive corruption that he condoned and encouraged?

He still lacks discipline nowadays hence his irresponsible behaviour of blaming others for his incompetence and failures.
The first sign of a disciplined man is that he takes responsibility and resolves issues.

Is that what you are talking abouthuh

Splashme:
The first civilian governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, on Tuesday, said that the cancellation of the Lagos metroline project in 1985 was a major mistake and disservice to many Nigerians.

Jakande spoke in Lagos during the launch of a book which chronicled his life in politics and journalism.

The book, entitled, ‘Jakande: Leadership in Action’ is written by Dr. Bola Olaosebikan, who told the audience at the event that the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), was not responsible for the cancellation of the project.

Jakande said, “Reflecting on the metroline project, I think it is a major disservice to many Nigerians. Imagine how many people would have benefitted. It would have made life easier and changed the face of transport in Lagos. Whoever cancelled it or gave the advice towards its cancellation didn’t do right.”

The former governor asked Nigerians not to vote for unserious leaders in the coming polls, saying the elections presented Nigerians with a good opportunity that should not be squandered.

Expressing the hope that Nigeria would soon overcome its developmental challenges, Jakande said hope would be actualised faster if credible people emerged as leaders in the next dispensation.

He said, “This book comes at a very auspicious time in Nigeria’s history as we need leaders who can act. We need leaders who would not compromise the standards of good governance. God has blessed this nation the most in Africa, although we have not reached where we should be; with the right leaders, Nigeria would overcome its challenges.”

midnighter:
i thought people living in slums got tb the most..why are these ones now getting it
TB is linked to HIV/AIDS.

Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease caused by bacteria that spread in the air. TB can spread from person to person.
Once in the body, TB can be inactive or active. Inactive TB is called latent TB. Active TB is called TB disease.
TB usually affects the lungs, but TB-causing bacteria can attack any part of the body, including the kidneys, spine, or brain. If not treated, TB disease can cause death.
HIV weakens the immune system, increasing the risk of TB in people with HIV.
People who have both HIV and TB should be treated for both diseases; however, when to start treatment and what medicines to take depends on a person’s individual circumstances.

I want Ibos here in Nairaland to know that there is a very bad blood and tension between us and it's not because of anything historically that we have done to bring this about. We are both victims of mis-fitting in a political space. The disharmony results from political power struggles in a political landscape hewned together by a foreigner.
That the Yorubas migrated from the East/Igbos is generally agreed by historians. Ask the Oonirisa and linguists who have worked on the subject.
While you have evidence of human settlement in Igbo land dating 4,000 to 3,000 years ago, you hardly have anything beyond 1,000 years in Yoruba land.
It is a pity that the two brother ethnic nationalities allow the ego of their leaders and their selfish greed tear them apart making it easy for the minority Foolanis (who are the latest tribe to enter Naijeriya) to rule and ruin us all.
