nwakibie3: President Muhammadu Buhari has said his major weakness lies in not knowing how to make money.
He also disclosed that he even borrowed money to build his three houses in Daura, Abuja and Kaduna.
The President made this known while speaking on his assets during an Interview with Sun Newspaper.
According to him, “When Murtala/Obasanjo regime came, they made sure that certain grades of public officers must declare their assets when they assumed that office and they must declare when they were leaving. So, when I was sworn in as governor of North East, I declared my assets.
“I declared surprisingly, even the number of my cows then. Even if they were supposed to be producing every year, but I declared them the time I was there. And when I was leaving governorship, I became petroleum minister.
“When I was leaving to go to War College, I declared my assets. I could recall General Jemibewon then, was the Adjutant-General of the Army. He rang me and said he was sending me asset declaration form, that I must fill it, sign it before I left for the United States. And I did.
“General Jemibewon is still alive. And when I became head of state eventually, I declared my assets again.
“So, if you people are serious and interested about political officers becoming multi-billionaires, you can find out from Murtala downwards. And those of us who were not very good in making money you should pity us.
“Everybody likes money but I am not very good at making money. Let me put it that way. I borrowed from the banks to build the house in Daura and the one in Abuja that you mentioned and the one in Kano. The bank then was Barclays, now Union Bank. Kaduna State or North Central then housing scheme and the Federal Mortgage Bank for the house I am in and AIB, which was, I think, terminated by Central Bank. So, when you go through the records, you find out that the houses I built, I borrowed from there.”
It is obvious you are the confused one here flying tin!
As you can see, am not the one collecting 30000naira as BMC from Buhari; so i wouldn't the strength and grace you have jumping from one mention to another trying to defend one worth not defending. Last i check Bakare was alway talking abt the lack lustre and i don't care approach the this APC administration.
aolawale025: He just wished them well. The best to do under these circumstances
Tell them o. Don't mind the illiterate followers of the dullard who are rejoicing over Bakare's coded message. Half education is really worse than no education at all.

I remain grateful to Gbenga Daniel – Tinubu dismisses rift rumors
A national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has cleared the air on the alleged enmity between him and a former two-term Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.
Tinubu, who spoke through Mr. Wale Edun at the 25th anniversary celebration of Otunba Gbenga Daniels’ Kresta Laurel, said there is no truth in the stories that he has been fighting with Gbenga Daniel, adding that they are still good friends.
Edun said: “I am here representing Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and my presence is to show that there is no friction between Asiwaju and Otunba Gbenga Daniel”
Mr. Edun went on to explain that whenever Tinubu drives past the Kresta Laurel building in Maryland, Lagos, he remembers the enormous contributions Daniel made to the take off of his administration in 1999 and was immensely grateful.
He revealed that the Peoples Democratic Party chieftain was very gracious to donate the Kresta Laurel building to Tinubu’s campaign team at the time it was just being completed.
“The Daniels also made a section of their home available to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu whenever he worked too late and could not go home. After the election, he also allowed us to use it for the Transition Committee where he was a member”
Stillthebest: Only God and alot of money(which I doubt he has )can revive Ambode's political career in Lagos so long their king still lives. He should go and ask Femi Pedro after he flexed muscles with his boss Tinubu....
Tinubu's future challenger (as seen spiritually) who happened to be Funsho Williams had been taken care of..
What do you mean by "as seen spiritually"? Can you please explain better?

Ijawwomaninoyo: He is old, maybe he can't walk again or has health issues. He doesn't look too fit.
The birthday party does not seem to fit with his lifestyle when he had his full cognitive capacities. Those who organised it, did so for their own different gains and he may not have agreed to it ordinarily. Typical wastefulness of blacks with our owambe mentality that makes us poor ad infinitum.

WHO SAYS 4 YEARS IN OFFICE IS NOT ENOUGH FOR MEANINGFUL ACHIEVEMENTS?
IT'S A FACT THAT 90% OF GOVERNORS IN NIGERIA SINCE 1999 WITH REVENUES AT THEIR DISPOSAL CANNOT BOAST OF A QUARTER OF THESE ACHIEVEMENTS EVEN WITHIN THEIR EIGHT YEARS IN OFFICE.
shugabasbn: Imagine Buhari allowed this man build metro rail line Lagos would have bn London of Africa.
Wishing u happy birthday sir and also prayed for peaceful exist whenever God knock on your door
True talk.
Splashme: The first civilian governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, on Tuesday, said that the cancellation of the Lagos metroline project in 1985 was a major mistake and disservice to many Nigerians.
Jakande spoke in Lagos during the launch of a book which chronicled his life in politics and journalism.
The book, entitled, ‘Jakande: Leadership in Action’ is written by Dr. Bola Olaosebikan, who told the audience at the event that the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), was not responsible for the cancellation of the project.
Jakande said, “Reflecting on the metroline project, I think it is a major disservice to many Nigerians. Imagine how many people would have benefitted. It would have made life easier and changed the face of transport in Lagos. Whoever cancelled it or gave the advice towards its cancellation didn’t do right.”
The former governor asked Nigerians not to vote for unserious leaders in the coming polls, saying the elections presented Nigerians with a good opportunity that should not be squandered.
Expressing the hope that Nigeria would soon overcome its developmental challenges, Jakande said hope would be actualised faster if credible people emerged as leaders in the next dispensation.
He said, “This book comes at a very auspicious time in Nigeria’s history as we need leaders who can act. We need leaders who would not compromise the standards of good governance. God has blessed this nation the most in Africa, although we have not reached where we should be; with the right leaders, Nigeria would overcome its challenges.”
Babachukwu: I wonder when the youth of this country will take over government......
When they do the work needed for the take over as the young people who were politicians in the colonial era did against the British for independence. Instead of waiting to be given power by those who fought for it. They will wait forever. Life na work and chop.
THE controversy trailing the aborted establishment of RUGA settlements for Fulani herders in parts of the country may be far from over.
Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, on Friday said that the apprehension being expressed over the plan by the Federal Government to create Fulani settlements for herders under the acronym name of RUGA was misplaced.
He told reporters in Abuja that he established a successful RUGA settlement in Abia State when he was governor of the state in 2001.
The controversial cattle market, he said, is located in Lokpanta, Umunneochi Local Government Area, along Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.
laudate: Guys, I believe more info is needed about the activities of this set of Fulani vigilantes, before anyone can vilify them. Are they there to protect the herders of cattle owned by the Fulani cattle owners? Or are they just there to attack cattle rustlers?
Or are they present in that locality, to protect innocent villagers from being harmed, by preventing those renegade killer herdsmen among them, from going on rampage across the local SW communities, under the guise of avenging the theft of their cattle?
More answers are needed. Why couldn't the Fulani vigilantes have carried out their patrol activities, in conjunction with the OPC or SW hunters association? It would have made more sense
My Yoruba teacher used to say that "you send the son of a fire, to the owner of the fiery flame itself "
See, if you have ever fallen victim to killer Fulani herdsmen, you will seek salvation from anyone who can rescue you from them, even if he is the 1st cousin of a Fulbe, no matter what tribe you come from.
My dad's neighbour has a first cousin who was abducted along with 3 others on the Lokoja-Abuja expressway, over 5 months ago. She has not been found till date, along with the other people in her vehicle.
If a Fulani vigilante gang offers to rescue her right now, do you think anyone in her family would say No??
All hands need to be on deck to put an end to the insecurity, as well as evil abductions and killings, on our interstate highways, irrespective of tribal affiliations.
Is it not terrible how our security has become worse under the watch of those who promised to make it better
EcoBrick: A social critic and respected human rights lawyer, Dr. Kayode Ajulo has declared he was not stopped by Fulani herdsmen at a checkpoint. He said he only interacted with two members of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Vigilante group around Akoko on his way to Abuja.
He said the operation of the vigilance group is known to all the security apparatus in the area.
He said his interaction with the members of the vigilante group was a voluntary undertaking as part of his profiling as a discerning leader of his community.
He said the interaction was part of his desire of curbing the menace of insecurity in Nigeria.
He urged Nigerians to sever political and ethnic sentiments from their minds on the insecurity in the country.
Ajulo, who made the clarifications in a statement in Abuja, said other security men came to corroborate the claims of the two members of the vigilante group.
His statement was titled “Synoptic account of my encounter with the Vigilante Group on the Highway.”
gwarotango: If Ibos must remain in the north, then Fulani herdsmen must be free to remain in the south. As long as it's one Nigeria, everyone has the right to live anywhere he so chooses
kayroc: GEJ went after him AFTER Iranian citizen was caught moving container full of guns to Zaria. The generals in the North that coordinated the movement were left alone after intervention of Northern Elders.
GEJ killed that story because he was bloody incompetent and unable to see anything. Diezani and her sister didn't let that one see road. By then, IMN had already turned to problem.
When the Northern Generals went after Maitatsine in Kano, they were supposed to clear IMN and Zakzaky but they didn't because they felt he was not a problem. Back then, majority of his converts were pagan villagers and Christians so they didn't mind him and his activities.
Or do you deny that they should have cleared IMN during Maitatsine?
What is making you mix things up so badly. Can you please calm down, sort out your thoughts and say things in a coherent manner? Thanks.
plaindealer: I used to think this is a religious cult, but after watching their propaganda videos and seeing their military stance and profile, it's safe to conclude that the FG did the right thing by curtailing their activities. This is a clear and present danger that the FG must nip in the bud ASAP.
Their parades are well organized professionally structured with tall and well-built members with obvious strong military training, even the women are not left out.
This is more than a religious cult/
This is definitely not a religion, this looks more like a state within a state and a non-state military outfit within Nigeria.
