voiceoftheupcom: APC LG PRIMARY:HOODLUMS ATTACK SENATOR AFIKUYOMI, REMOVE HIS CLOTHES
Violence erupted midway into the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to elect chairmanship candidates for the July 22 council polls in Lagos State on Saturday, ending the event abruptly.
Some aggrieved party supporters engaged one another in a free-for-all midway into the election, smashing ballot boxes over allegations of imposition of candidates at the election.
Scores of delegates and others present at the Teslim Balogun Stadium venue fled in different directions as a result of the fracas, even as some were injured. The Chairman of the Elections Committee, Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, was also attacked, with his top taken off by angry supporters who accused him of impartiality as he scampered to safety.

DonVikings: I am sure it was APC that asked Wike to say SW is irrelevant in the affairs of PDP. I am sure it was APC that asked FFK to issue that statement of his. I am sure it was APC that asked some aspirants to reject the outcome of their election. I am sure Secondus abi Thirdus is working for APC. Useless biafra and Boko Haram party.
Looking for Boko Haram party? Don't look any further.
osazeeblue01: The same thing we have been hearing over two years now.
A corrupt MaguN cannot effectively investigate anyone. Fact!!! That is why he has not been able to get a court conviction for any of the media trials, which have excited our gullible folks.
Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu, has rented a mansion in the elitist Maitama District of the Federal capital territory (FTC) Abuja, News Express can report this morning.
The storey building located at No. 8B, Rudolf Close, off Katsina Ala Crescent, in the highbrow Maitama District, was the abode of a former federal minister who died some time in May 2014.
An impeccable source said: “The property was rented to the Acting EFCC Chairman for N40,000,000 at N20,000,000 per annum.
“Furthermore, the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) curiously awarded a contract to Africa Energy, a company owned by Rtd Air Comm. Umar Muhammad, to furnish the residence at the cost N43,000,000, in a Government where the President is known to have frowned at and rebuked his ministers for requesting N20,000,000 each to secure accommodation and furnish them.
“It is shocking that the man spearheading the anti-corruption crusade of the government will be involved in such a venture. More surprising is the involvement of FCDA in renting a house for EFCC and under what arrangement.”
News Express made efforts to get the reaction of Magu and EFCC but the commission’s spokesmen Osita Nwajah and Wilson Uwujaren did not respond to text messages sent to them seeking their reaction to the story.
Is this CORRUPTION happening under the nose of our able retired General, only saviour, fighter of corruption, the DullardPoo of Daura? If the senators confirm him on the job what more will Magu do?
Achorise: Good point I stand with you on this point, ? But will you allow Nigerians to openly practice and approve homosexuality as those countries ?The level morality in Nigeria not even Africa is high, very high, visit other Agrican countries, as see the level of moral decaydnes s., If not all religion has played some level of roles in shaping our society, most especially Christianity and Islam.
Yes for homosexuality, as long as they don't bother me/ approach me. Morality is relative and varies from one person/society to another person/society, also from one period to another as the group advances in "civilisation". Why are Nigerians and Africans flooding to the "lower" morality countries and begging them for aids
todaynewsreview: The bodies of at least 74 migrants have been washed ashore in western Libya, in the latest tragedy along the dangerous trafficking route to Europe. The Libyan Red Crescent posted photos of dozens of bodies in black and white bags lined up along the shore near the western city of Zawiya. A spokesman for the aid organisation said there were still bodies floating out at sea as the agency had no way of retrieving them. He said the migrants were all adults, mostly from sub-Saharan African countries, and all but three were men. The UN migration agency, the International Organisation of Migration (IOM), said the dinghy had set off on Saturday with 110 people on board. The agency said traffickers deliberately took the engines from the boat and then abandoned it to drift.
verygudbadguy: Bro, I have not written about Goodluck. I only countered the newspaper pages you attached. I said if I wanted pages of insults on Jonathan, Nairaland will not contain it. However, I mentioned some weak points like he was surrounded by rogues. Stella was indicted, Diezani is still under investigation, Obanikoro had a plea bargain, FFK's case is still ongoing, Olisa metuh is still ongoing.
You asked if Goodluck or his wife was convicted. His wife is still answering cases in the court of law. Rotimi Amaechi had a messy fight with PEJ and left PDP after PEJ tried to hijack Rivers from him. My bad, I have Googled all through and I can't find any evidence of 140usd but it was above 100usd. He was the highest earner in all of the presidents we have had but had very little to show for it.
Bro, you have not argued with points and basis. You have only made the argument look like a must-win and not a learning process for us.
You are very confused so I will leave you with your glaring confusions. When you are able to sort them out, including the difference between indicted and convicted, please let me know. Cheers.
verygudbadguy: Bro. We are all here to learn. I have not confirmed OBJ as a corrupt person because he was never convicted of corruption. All we heard were rumours until confirmed true. But I told you some of the negative things about him like he couldn't even fix d road to his home town. He did no capital project in the south. Bro, we are talking about OBJ and not Goodluck o. If I bring the diary of saved archive of names Goodluck was called on the internet, Nairaland no go contain am. I still won't judge him with those. I will judge on facts like he didn't even believe that Chibok girls were truly kidnapped. He allowed his wife to hijack Rivers and Bayelsa government while undermining the state governors. He also surrounded himself with rogues and stripped the reserves empty. Yaradua left 62b USD in the CBN reserve but Goodluck deplicted it to 31b USD despite the huge revenue from oil as it sold for as high as 140usd per barrel.
NwaAmaikpe: The way people lie with God's name repulses me. So God left all the men from Sango Ota to Eleme, from Burutu down to Ilejemeje and all over Nigeria then found you a helper in far away Poland? God did not find you that helper, Your bloody gold-digging schemes fetched you that mugu.
seguno2: Justify stealing by Buhari, Babachir, Buratai, Dalung, Amaechi, Lai Mohammed, Amina Mohammed, Maina etc? Justify stealing
Revealed: How Buhari Budgeted N39 billion for Propaganda
In a bid to launder his already battered image, President Muhammadu Buhari has allocated a whooping sum of N39 billion in the 2016 budget to the Ministry of Information and Culture, a sum higher than the paltry N29 billion allocated to the Ministry of Agriculture.
This is a direct inverse of the 2015 budget, where Former President Goodluck Jonathan allocated the sum of N23 billion to Ministry of Information and N39 billion to the Agricultural Ministry.
The meager allocation to the Agricultural ministry has left political stakeholders wondering if the present administration aims at diversifying the economy or thriving on propaganda.
Buhari had in August, 2015 stated that Nigerians must stop paying mere lip service to agriculture, as crude oil and gas exports will no longer be sufficient as the country’s major revenue earner.
“It’s time to go back to the land. We must face the reality that the petroleum we had depended on for so long will no longer suffice. We campaigned heavily on agriculture, and we are ready to assist as many want to go into agricultural ventures,’’ Buhari stated.
However investigations by Post Nigeria revealed that Buhari’s words did not match his action following the lean budgetary provision for Agriculture.

Why are you using double standards for the same set of people. Not convicted- until confirmed true for Ebola Owu. Has Jonathan or even his wife being convicted or any of the stories you say are on the internet CONFIRMED true Please don't tempt me into calling you an ignorant hypocrite oh, abeg.
The price of oil was never at $140 under Jonathan who took over in 2010, rather the price started dropping in 2012 hence the 36 state governors were putting pressure to cushion the effect with ECA draw downs since we all rejected their subsidy removal, which the dullard has now implemented.
FG, States, LGs Share N568.4 Billion for Oct 15 NOVEMBER 2013
Also, $1billion was proposed for distribution to complement shortfall in expected revenue." The $1billion is a compromise by the FG over its words in September not to augment shortfalls anymore.
Responding to the presentation, the chairman of the States Commissioners of Finance and Ebonyi State Commissioner of Finance, Mr Timothy Odaah, lamented that the statutory allocation was getting smaller and smaller. "It appears this is the worst in terms of returns. This is the least in allocations as far as this year is concerned. We are mourning the dearth of funds and this is a wakeup call for states and local governments to buoy up their internally generated revenue."
While appreciating the "magnanimity" of President Goodluck Jonathan to approve the $1billion from the excess crude account and to be shared among the federal, state and local governments, Odaah expressed disappointment with the returns made by the NNPC.
He said that the states had requested for $2bn to complement for the shortfall in revenue but got only $1billion. In September, Odaah and fellow commissioners had walked out of the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF) when the federal government said that the framework of the 2013 budget was no longer realistic and it won't augment shortfall in revenue. Odaah raised issues with the statutory allocations of previous months.
higherpower: The Congress of Yoruba Sons and Daughters within the Peoples Democratic Party say they are outraged by the insults allegedly hauled on the Yoruba by the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike. They said they took a strong exception to Wike’s comment that the Yoruba were inconsequential and had no practical political importance in the PDP. According to them, Wike also described former President Olusegun Obasanjo as a failure.
The group at a press conference addressed by its chairman, Dayo Ogunjebe, in Lagos on Wednesday lamented that Wike’s comment was a reflection of how much the Yoruba in the PDP had been “pushed to the edge of the cliff” and relegated in the opposition party’s scheme of things.
Dayo Ogunjebe is obviously an IMPOSTOR who has been paid by Asiwaju Asiwere national leader of the All Poverty Congress, APC to create confusion among PDP supporters. How much does it cost to organise a press conference and pay journalists to give the statements prominence in their newspapers? A google search for Dayo Ogunjebe shows that he is a non-starter in PDP until this obnoxious statement, sponsored by Ogbeni Ojuyobo JagaBandit.
Meanwhile, is Ebola Owu not a failure? Politically, he did not win his ward, state and south west in 1999 and swindled AD members into a fake coalition to win in 2003 before he was beaten black and blue in 2007. He is also a failure in governance, being characterised by massive corruption.
Nigerian deals 'wasted billions 14 March 2008
Some $2.2bn-worth of Nigerian energy contracts were awarded without a bidding process by the former president and his energy minister, officials say. One was to a company with less than $200 of base capital at the time, a witness told a parliamentary committee.
It is investigating why $16bn of investment in the energy sector during Olusegun Obasanjo's eight years in power failed to end power shortages.
President Olusegun Obasanjo, who led Nigeria from 1999-2000, during which time he swore to fight corruption in the country, obtained considerable helpings of the infamous Haliburton bribe money, the Special Investigation Panel headed by Inspector-General of Police, Mike Okiro, has declared in an interim report.

According to the document, which was submitted to *President Umaru Yar’Adua in May last year by Mr. Okiro, Obasanjo shared the sum of $74 million USD between 2000 and 2001 with his Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, as well as Funsho Kupolokun and Gaius Obaseki, who were successive heads of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation during the government’s early years.
During that same time span, said the interim report, Obasanjo and the ruling party, the People’s Democratic Party, also pocketed $5m from the Halliburton slush funds. Other major beneficiaries included General Sani Abacha, got $40 million in 1994-95; Ibrahim Aliyu, $11.7million in 2001-2002; Former Minister, Dan Etete, $2.5 million 1996-1998; Abdulkadir Abacha, $1.8 in 1998; and M. G. Bakari, $3.1 million
You should take extra care to be specific in your attacks on individuals instead of swiping a large collection of people who may not necessarily share what their noise making leader looter is saying. Alienating any group, no matter how small is not a good political strategy for winning in a multi-faceted country. Cheers
verygudbadguy: Good stuff. Rumoured because I have no evidence he did. Rumoured because he denied it. Do you have any evidence he sponsored the 3rd term bid truly. Do you have any evidence that Atiku syphoned the 16b USD meant for power. You made good point about Goodluck and education. Need I clear you that Goodluck was an educational person, P. hd, former teacher, lecturer. His own policies and focus was on education. Obasanjo's tenure was m ore economy driven, anti- corruption crusade.
You have only made one valid point and that's about Goodluck educational reforms and introduction of universities. That should be one of the reasons you like Jonathan. But you have not countered my point as regards his Obasanjo's achievements.
I don't like to argue too much, so please pardon me upfront. Ebola Owu is corruption personified. Take it or leave it. Thanks.

- revival of the rail way sector wey oga jona wan claim
Do you hate Jonathan so much or did he take your girlfriend from you ni? Yar'Adua was busy stealing money with the usual Fulani forex shortcircuiting and oil bloc allocation while CANCELLING ALL the legacy projects of Ebola Owu. It was Jonathan who revived them, funded them and ensured their progress and completion, which even Femi Adesina has acknowledged. The railways is a classical example.
Nigeria Halts China Railway Firm In Its Tracks NOV 4, 2008
China's top railway builder has encountered a glitch in a lucrative project in Nigeria, jeopardizing a large portion of the firm's future profits and prompting analysts to wonder if a closer look at the risks of its aggressive African investment strategy is in order.
The Nigerian government has temporarily suspended China Railway Construction's $8.3 billion rail project linking Nigeria's north and south. The news sent China Railway Construction shares plunging 18.5%, to 7.99 Hong Kong dollars ($1.03), in Hong Kong, the steepest drop since its initial public offering in March.
Nigeria's Transportation Ministry wants to renegotiate contract terms for the rail link, set to span 1,315 kilometers (817.1 miles) between coastal Lagos and the northern city of Kano, China Railway Construction revealed in a statement filed to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange late Monday night. The government's action deals a big blow to the infrastructure firm, as the rail project represents fully 13.9% of the total value of all its contracts as of Sept. 30, according to the statement.
The Nigerian government's motives are likely both political and financial in nature, analysts say. A turnover of leaders has put major foreign contracts in the country under review and in limbo. Meanwhile, the drastic fall in oil prices has squeezed Nigeria's budget, limiting its ability to finance major infrastructure projects. The 17-month-old administration of President Umaru Yar'Adua has expressed skepticism about the terms for infrastructure and oil contracts negotiated by its predecessor and has called the 2006 contract with China Railway Construction "over inflated."
nawtyme: Previous Govts Initiated ‘Most Of The Things This Administration Is Doing’ – Adesina
A majority of the projects the Muhammadu Buhari administration is working on was inherited from previous administrations, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity has said.
Mr Femi Adesina said this when he appeared on Channels Television’s special Independence anniversary programme on Sunday.
“Most of the things this administration is doing – 60 to 70 percent of them – were initiated by previous governments,” he said.
“That shows you that in the past a government will come and say ‘this is not our project’ And it will discard what was being done and start fresh ones.”
As a result, Mr Adesina said there are many half and quarter-completed abandoned projects. But rather than abandon the project, he explained that the current administration will complete it.
An example is the Abuja-Kaduna rail project which the Presidential aide said was up to maybe 60 to 70 percent complete when the last administration left.
“This administration came, completed it and inaugurated it. Then you will still find some people shouting, ‘they are claiming credit for what the past administration started,” he said.
“It shows there is a mentality in Nigeria that makes governments not want to complete what previous governments have started. But this administration is not going that way at all, it is just doing what needs to be done for the good of the country.”
Another example is the Mambilla power project, which has been in the works since 1972, but has now started taking shape under this administration.
In going about its activities, Mr Adesina said the Federal Government follows due process in the awarding of contracts, stressing that projects worth above N50m will require the permission of the Federal Executive Council before such a contract can be awarded.
“One thing this government does scrupulously is to follow due process in the award of all these contracts and projects.
“Anything that is above N50m must come to the Federal Executive Council. Before the FEC will endorse any project or contract, the Bureau of Public Procurement must have signed off on that project that it is worthy to be done and the projections are good, that this government does not joke about.”
verygudbadguy: Next on my list is Obasanjo. He met a meagre 3billion USD in our reserve and he grew it to 43billion USD in 8 years. He had a very viable economic team led by NOI and Soludo. He was able to travel all around the world due to his physical fitness and health status despite being in his 60s. He, along side his team were able to pay off some of our huge external debts while others were forgiven. He, however failed in the aspect of power generation after spending a whopping 16billion USD. It was rumoured that his vice, Atiku Abubakar diverted the funds. He also failed to embark on capital projects in the south but did excellently well in the North. He tried to elongate his tenure by trying to bribe his way through the National Assembly or so it was rumoured.
All the bad things done by Ebola Owu are rumoured. The good things are not rumoured. Did you ask for intelligent discussion Rumoured ko. Rumours ni.

Jonathan and Sambo in 4 years built 14 (FOURTEEN) new universities for all Nigerians. NONE for themselves.
NOTE: OBJ and ATIKU are now consultants/sponsors/piloters/members of APC....
Milllz: ;Dthis country is hopeless. I like the positive attitude though. Putting your hard earned money in Nigerian politics now is a far cry, it’ll just go to the wrong pockets. It’s people like Atiku who have looted more than enough to throw at it again that have a chance. Some reputable responsible people still contest though, I think that’s where our responsibilities come in, that we vote for them but considering the poverty level in the country, we’re back to square one. Money wins again.
You are talking as if presidency is the only elected political office in the land. What of the

Are these not the pillars for mobilising voters for the presidential election and also putting pressure on the president to deliver after being in office You don't have to be so hopeless, man.
