Goke7: You are just playing politics man, GEJ goofed and played into the hands of those who never wanted regular power. Am aware of all the issues that led to the Nnaji removal, its one of those politics the elites play in Nigeria when Govt policies seems to be in favour of the majority.
They have also succeeded in hoodwinking Fashola and this is what is playing out now, some of us are not fooled If I understand you correctly, you are saying that the reforms Jonathan carried out in the power sector were good for the masses |

Goke7: But your hero removed the guy despite the accolades he was receiving. You guys praise Nnaji but refuse to give GEJ the boot for removing the hardworking fellow, I think Nnaji would have easily be retained if GEJ had left him just like akinwunmi adesina was recommended as afdb president by PMB after sending Atiku to Zuma for the south african candidate to step down for adesina.
Politics at times need to be set aside for things to move faster. Do you know why he was removed? If you don't, please confess so I can help you out. Cheers. |

tete7000: They are illegally sold but there are legal issue that made sale reversal impossible, what then is illegal about a sale that is legally irreversible? Nigerians and contradictions! Anyway I don't blame them, they understand that many of their audience are not deep enough to see contradictions in their argument. We can say those companies are not sold to the best bidders but to say the legal component of the deal are not met might be a lie. Else legally reversing the deals that are not legitimately contracted ought not be any issue. Abi oh. And this is a lawyer, a SAN for that matter talking Does he not know the way to the law COURTS to examine the legality or otherwise of such sales |

I think its high time a true expert is appointed as the minister of power, no sentiments or politics here. Indeed Fashola is a MISFIT just as Bola Ige was under Obasanjo. Time to get someone who UNDERSTANDS about electricity generation and distribution like Nnaji. All this talk about illegal sales is just NONSENSE excuse for non-performance. |

Firefire: As a rejoinder to this publication: https://www.nairaland.com/2872621/aregbesola-inflated-airport-contract-n11.5bn#42080710
Femi Makinde, Osogbo
The Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, has said he deserves commendation for building the Moshood Abiola International Airport at Ido-Osun, Osun State, for N11.5bn.
A consultant to the state government on information, Mr. Sunday Akere, who spoke on behalf of the governor, said this in a telephone interview with our correspondent on Tuesday.
He said the contract was not inflated to siphon the state’s resources as alleged by the Peoples Democratic Party. He said the increase in the contract sum was necessitated by the inflation caused by the fall of the naira.
Akere said, “The PDP in Osun should be ignored, they are just seeking relevance. They should find out how much PDP states like Akwa Ibom, Gombe and others built their airports.
“When former President Goodluck Jonathan was in power, he said he added an additional airstrip to the Nnamdi Azikiwi International Airport, Abuja with N36bn. We should be commended for building an airport with N11.5bn.
“If we are building a complete airport with a hanger and other facilities for N11.5bn, then we should be commended. The governor deserves commendation.”
Akere also said the initial cost of the airport was underestimated.
But the PDP accused the governor of increasing unilaterally the contract sum of the airport from N4.5bn to N15.5bn.
The Director of Media and Strategy of the Osun PDP, Mr. Diran Odeyemi, said this in a statement on Sunday.
The statement read, “We are aware that Governor Rauf Aregbesola, on January 8, 2016 through a letter with reference number SP/S96/1/vi/348 re-awarded the airport contract to the same contractor and a payment of N472m was paid as take-off sum.
“The same company had earlier been paid N2.7bn for the same project without any serious work done on the project.
The PDP also accused the governor of inflating the contract sum in order to embezzle the bailout funds it got from the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The opposition party lamented that workers in the employ of the state were languishing in hunger as a result of unpaid salaries.
The party had said, “We are calling on the President and anti-graft agencies to send a secret team to the site of the so-called Moshood Abiola International Airport, Ido-Osun, to confirm what the government and the airport company had done with the N2.7bn taken from the purse of the state on December 14, 2012.
“Out of the amount, N2.5bn was sourced as a loan from a bank to be repaid monthly at N100m from the SURE-P funds. That loan is now part of the N88bn restructured for the state by the Central Bank for repayment till the year 2034 .”

FirstTImeUser: This man's administration remains a mystery to me. How manage? Check the DEBT profile and you will understand the massive COVER-UP for the ongoing chop & clean mouth CORRUPTION. Kenai: Three days ago, Nigeria's budget-monitoring tech organization, BudgIT, released a detailed document on the states of Nigeria; their economic situations, debt burdens, budget-funding capabilities, internally generated revenue ratings and financial sustainability. This move is part of a greater plan to engender transparency in our budgets, as well as demand better accountability from our various state governors across the federation.
The document had some revealing details, some shocking details, as well as some downright damning ones. I guess reality is truly different from state-sponsored propaganda and social media rhetoric.
Ability Of States To Meet Recurrent Expenditure In this category, the states are ranked by the figures realized after subtracting the total monthly salaries paid by the states from their monthly income. The states in red are states whose monthly incomes are unable to meet up with the monthly wage bill. In other words, states that are unable to pay their salaries without having to borrow. States in green, on the other hand, are states whose monthly incomes are enough to adequately pay salaries and still have some leftovers for other engagements. This is the table: https://s10.postimg.org/z80qgsc0p/IMG_20151109_193956.jpg
From the table above it can be deduced that Lagos, Rivers, Delta, Katsina and Enugu are the top 5 states with the highest leftover cash even after meeting monthly obligations; while Osun, Plateau, Ogun, Nasarawa and Oyo are the bottom 5 states as well as the states with the greatest inability to meet monthly payments without having to borrow. Perhaps interesting to note, is the fact that Osun state's monthly shortfall is larger than the monthly shortfalls of Ekiti, Bauchi, Abia, Kaduna, Zamfara, Imo and Gombe, combined.
On a region-by-region basis, it can also be deduced that:
1. In the South-South, all other states are green except Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom.
2. In the South-East, Enugu, Ebonyi and Anambra are able to meet recurrent obligations, but Imo and Abia are unable to.
3. In the South-West, Lagos is the only state currently meeting its recurrent obligations while all other sister states, Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo, Ogun and Osun, are unable to.
4. Taraba and Yobe are the only North-Eastern states without monthly shortfalls
5. Niger, Benue and Kogi are the only North-Central states currently without shortfalls.
6. Zamfara and Kaduna are the only North-West states with shortfalls.

Ranking Of States By Debt
https://s12.postimg.org/pi23dsjm5/CTZHZCDUs_AA8w_DS.png
And finally...
State Sustainability Index
BudgIT published the final info known as "State Sustainability Index". This is the rating of the states by their financial sustainability. It factors in the state's IGR, as well as its total debt stocks, AND recurrent expenditure before arriving at its final figures. This is the standard formula used in calculating state sustainability index:
https://s10.postimg.org/e7aovv8ih/IMG_20151109_201854.jpg
Using the formula above with IGR's and debt stocks previously posted, below is the ranking of the states by their sustainability indices:
https://s10.postimg.org/mqu2tmgux/IMG_20151109_200416.jpg
From the table above, it can be deduced that Rivers State, with its high IGR and relatively low debt, is Nigeria's most sustainable state, with Lagos, Enugu, Delta and Katsina all trailing in that order to make up Nigeria's top 5 most sustainable states.
Counting from the bottom, on the other hand, Plateau, Osun, Nasarawa, Borno and Ekiti are ranked as Nigeria's least sustainable states, with their low IGRs and inexplicably high debts.
On a personal region-by-region ranking (gotten by adding all the indices for every state in each region and dividing by the number of states in said region), the South-South is by far Nigeria's most sustainable region with a cumulative average sustainability index of 8.27
Coming a very distant second is the South-East with an index of 6.43
In third place is the North-West with an index of approximately 5.45
Number 4 is the South-West with 5.43
Coming fifth place with an index of 4.39, is the North-Central
And scraping the bottom of the barrel at last place, is the insurgency-torn North-East with an index of 3.97

More from: http://www.post-nigeria.com/jonathan-to-implement-all-confab-recommendations/ Jonathan Orders Implementation Of Confab Report March 19, 2015
President Goodluck Jonathan has ordered the immediate implementation of aspects of the national conference report, particularly policy matters that do not require constitution amendment. Other aspects would then be vetted and sent to the National Assembly.
This came following the Federal Executive Council (FEC)’s approval of the modalities for implementation of the report as recommended by the conference at its meeting on Wednesday.
“The national conference report came to the council today. You will recall that barely one year ago, Mr President inaugurated the conference and at the end of their sitting, the conference came up with a report and submitted the report to him,” Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim made the disclosure while briefing State House correspondents after the meeting presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan.
“You will also recall that the conference came up with modalities for implementing their resolutions or recommendations. And I think it the high point of that effort. They also recommended to government on how to implement those recommendations and resolutions.
“Let me say that what happened in council today was for it to approve that those modalities be adopted in implementing the report. Recall that when the report was submitted to Mr President, he set up a committee under the chairmanship of the Attorney General of the Federation and the committee has looked at the report in its entirety.
“The members have looked at the recommendations and they have advised Mr President that they were implementable.

Below for your information- free of charge! https://www.allnigerians.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Ben-Murray-Bruce_2.jpgBeeBeeOoh: North East: Senate Turns Down Budget Proposal For Information Ministry..
ABUJA—THE Senate, yesterday, refused to treat the budget proposal for the Federal Ministry of Information due to lack of provision for media propaganda in the North East.
The Senate Committee on Information, which took the decision during the ministry’s budget defence, insisted that the ministry must not only rework but also re-present its budget with provisions for effective media propaganda in the North East.
The committee on information, headed by Senator Enyinaya Abaribe, PDP, Abia South, directed that the ministry should bring a budget that will cater for the needs of its media agencies. Abaribe’s directive was sequel to the observation raised by a member of the committee and senator representing Bayelsa North, Ben Bruce, who had decried the non inclusion of budget for media operations in the North East, in the wake of the Boko Haram insurgency. Bruce, in his remark, had pointed out that during the Nigerian Civil War, the media was effectively used to propagate relevant information. He therefore appealed that the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, and Voice of Nigeria, VON, should go and add the required component.
He said: “It would have made more sense for the information budget of the Army to be given to the Ministry of Information to equip these stations to be used by the military as a source of communication.
“For instance, if there is going to be an air raid in a particular area, we can warn the citizens to stay off that particular area".
