Cowmilk: The wailing party shd bury her head in shame... This cartoons if anytin potray PMB as a man of integrity
Man of integrity who is asking us to tell him which of his saintly ministers he should sack since he also knows his administration is a terrible, complete FAILURE. Maybe integrity has a different meaning in your dictionary.
Buhari: Tell Me If I Should Change Ministers
President Muhammadu Buhari said yesterday that Nigerians should pass a verdict on the performance of his appointed officials during the administration’s first year in office so that he will know if he should change them. Asked if Nigerians should expect changes in his team during this anniversary period Buhari said, “I am waiting for the newspapers to tell me the performance of my ministers and whether I should make changes.”
Dollarization Of The APC Primaries: How Amaehi Vanquished Atiku #saibuhari
The blogosphere was inundated with reports of the excessive sharing of dollars at the All Progressives Congress which took place during the latter part of last week.
One APC supporter and Special Adviser to Osun Governor on Environment, BolaIlori had blown the scandal open after he saw the beginning stages of the dollarization in action.
He took to his Facebook page and scribbled, “Crazy things are happening here!!! Some of these cannot represent the change Nigeria is yearning for. Excessive dollarization by one of the aspirants to is to say the least obscene. I have been involved in political process for decades now, I have never witnessed this volume of raw dollarization of party primaries. I only read about this kind of things in PDP primaries. A question been asked by conscientious delegates is that whoever can be giving out between $2000 to $5000 to…delegates certainly does not represent the kind of change Nigerians want…those who contributed to the pauperization of Nigeria now revel in dollarization… majority of Ondo delegates are still standing with Buhari but have been reduced from 85% to 70% within 24 hours…the remaining has gone with dollars ooo.!!!!!”
One has to wonder how Buhari was able to win the primaries in this era of stomach infrastructure where dollars are like the Biblical manna that God sent down from heaven to nourish the Israelites as they made their way to the promised land.
Sources close to the APC with knowledge of the way the Primaries unfolded have revealed that it was Rivers State Governor, Amaechi who flew back to Rivers State and returned to Lagos on Thursday morning with enough dollars to make Benjamin Franklin blush.
It has been revealed that Atiku offered the delegates $5000 each, but Amaechi doubled it to $10000 a pop. Thus turning the tables in favour of General Buhari.
Since his adventure into the APC, Amaechi has gone out of his way to prove himself a party loyalist, always the first to shoki or azonto at the many events the APC holds, which he himself is usually the chief sponsor.
According to party insiders, Amaechi has overtaken Tinubu as the major financier of the party. One does not need to wonder why he is always at President Jonathan’s throat over misappropriated oil wells or other such business. Anything that diminishes from the State’s coffers will have a ripple effect on his funding budget for the APC.
The video is of the flight on the ground BEFORE take-off. It is not unusual that there will be some heat as the air conditioners are usually run with the plane's engine working. This is why the airlines minimise the time for passengers to sit IDLE in the plane before they start the engine for take-off. A little patience and understanding on the part of the passengers would have prevented making an already bad situation worse.
BTW, do you know how we will grow our economy/country if we do not go through these hardships and make IMPROVEMENTS as we steadily PROGRESS our development
Btppolitics: Could Saraki be pulling a stunt to attract sympathy?
Shall we expect the JagbaJantis of Lagos to also pull the same stunt. The Asiwaju Asiwere of agberos seems to follow whatever Saraki does. That was how he hurriedly met with NLC people after Saraki had met them on the strike matter.
kelvinreality: Yeah...That's not the duty of the Senate, but can't they engage in humanitarian service. At least, try to build pipe borne water and good market structure for your people ( constituency). When I read stories about David Mark village, I shook my head.
The state government is RESPONSIBLE for tap water provision while the LGA is RESPONSIBLE for market structures, in case you don't know. Where you work does your accountant do the work of the sales man? In your school does your biology teacher do the work of your history teacher?
The lawmakers (senators, representatives, state assembly legislators) have their main role as making LAWS to respond to evolving issues in the society. They can be approached by their DEPRIVED constituents to lobby the
to provide whatever is lacking such as the tap water and market structure. That is how things should work in an orderly, human society unlike a JUNGLE inhabited by baboons & monkeys (soaked or not soaked in blood)
kelvinreality: Leaving the governor's alone, I have hardly heard of any senator who has done a laudable project, expect for continuous debate in the Senate?
You obviously do NOT know the work of a senator. Please find out from the constitution and come back to share what you found out. Deal
Where are the claims to back your allegation of the suppose accommodation fee given by Ajimobi to a minister
See below =>
VillageParrot: The Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu was only recently able to get an accommodation in Abuja after his state governor, Abiola Ajimobi graciously helped him with an extra N2 million, a source who did not want to be named also told this newspaper.
sinceraconcept: Do you think it's easy to be president of Nigeria? Even Wole Soyinka go turn to Olodo if he become president. There are too many loopholes
Was he FORCED to vie for the presidency? He tried and FAILED in:
- 2003 - 2007 - 2011
before he was packaged successfully in 2015. If he is NOT capable of delivering on the task, he can still RESIGN oh!
The only reason Buhari has ministers is for them to make NOISE, not so From the horse's mouth =>
President Muhammadu Buhari has again defended his delay in composing his ministerial cabinet, saying civil servants and technocrats are more involved in the process of governance than ministers, who are only there to “make a lot of noise”.
Buhari was speaking on Wednesday in an interview with French television station, France 24.
Asked if the absence of a finance minister was affecting the Nigerian capital market and economy, Buhari said: “No. It is what we know –and which we learnt from the western system. The civil service provides the continuity, the technocrat. And in any case, they are those that do most of the work.
“The ministers are there, I think, to make a lot of noise; for the politicians to make a lot of noise. But the work is being done by the technocrats. They are there; they have to provide the continuity, dig into the records and then guide us, [those of us] who are just coming in.
“They have been there, some of them for 15 years, some for 20 years. So I think this question of ministers is political. People from different constituencies want to see their people directly in government, and see what they can get out of it.”
Buhari did say, though, that he intends to stick with his decision to name his cabinet before the end of the month.
“As for the cabinet, I said we will have one by the end of the month, and time flies. The end of the month is coming too quickly for my liking.
“Yeah, I will stick to it. I will send the names to the national assembly.”
Reminded by his interviewer that “some have quipped that the country runs better without ministers”, the president said: “When you started introducing me, you said I was around 1983 to 1985.
“Even then we had ministers. So under this system, we have to have ministers; and we are going to have ministers.”
989900B: I thought about this too . . . but not all were owned by the missionaries, and do they have the funds to cater for the increased population now?
I thought that the increased population has one brain and two hands, not so Let the government create the enabling environment & incentives for people to WORK so that it can TAX them, abi na wetin oyinbo societies they do?
kelvinreality: It is illegal to vote in corporation into office!! Where has such been done? We are know it is their duties to provide services, but what we do not know is if they have good policy for the implementation of such services??
Is it legal to pay the governor and his political appointees huge salaries and watch them STEAL our money while they do NOT provide services for which they were elected This same useless Ajimobi of a governor gave N2 million to the minister from Oyo state to SUBSIDISE whatever he received from Buhari to get a "DECENT" accommodation, not so? If they do not have good policies to implement what they are REQUIRED to implement, should they not resign or be sacked? Is that not what they do to football coaches of those clubs we love to watch in our colonial SLAVE mentality For how long shall we black people remain the scums of the earth? For how long
Nnemuka: I wont advice my enemies to fly arik to newyork
Do you now agree that Arik flies INTERNATIONAL routes, including direct to New York? Why would you not advice your enemies to fly Arik? Would you advise your enemies to buy or use anything that YOU make/sell as a Nigerian? Could you please check and share the meaning of HYPOCRITE Thanks.
Can we expect (Honourable?) Femi Gbaja/ biamila to IMPEACH Buhari for not implementing his budget
bayooooooo: Reps Threaten To Impeach President Goodluck Jonathan By Ini Ekott
The lawmakers say Mr. Jonathan will be impeached if the 2012 budget is not properly implemented.
The face-off between the House of Representatives and President Goodluck Jonathan continued, Thursday, as some lawmakers served Mr. Jonathan a shocking impeachment warning, threatening to remove him from office if the 2012 budget was not fully implemented by September.
The impeachment warning by the Lawmakers followed a motion by Femi Gbajabiamila, the Minority Leader.
Citing an order of privilege, Mr. Gbajabiamila, a member of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), argued that the president was in negligence of his primary duty of implementing the budget which would have addressed the nation’s poor infrastructure.
"The President, by failing to implement the budget as passed by this honourable House, violates the 1999 Constitution and is therefore liable to be impeached under section 143 of the 1999 constitution," Mr. Gbajabiamila said.
The lawmaker said that while the House should respect the President's personality, there was need to mete out the penalty, as a deterrent to leaders who flout the laws.
"Therefore, I want to hereby submit, that come September, we will begin to invoke and draw up articles of impeachment of Mr. President," he declared while receiving a rousing support of members.
Blame Finance Minister
Mr. Gbajabiamila had hardly finished his speech when he was interrupted by Karibo Soalaboye (PDP/Bayelsa), who represents the President’s constituency in the House.
Mr. Soalaboye maintained that budget concerns should be laid at the table of the Ministry of Finance.
The Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal, agreed with Mr. Soalaboye and sustained his argument.
Poor budget implementation
The impeachment threat came on the heels of a motion by Albert Sam-Tsokwa (PDP/Taraba) and 20 others on the non-implementation of budgets by the Executive.
Mr. Sam-Tsokwa described the budget implementation as an annual national failure, saying only 30 per cent of the budget was implemented on average.
The motion was widely debated by 20 Chairmen of key House committees, including the Committees on Appropriations, Finance, Works, Agriculture, Customs, Gas, and Petroleum(Upstream).
Mr. Sam-Tsokwa expressed concern that seven months into the 2012 fiscal year, the implementation of the budget, as reported by the MDAs, indicates that the recurrent expenditure is judiciously implemented, while the capital expenditure is abysmally implemented.
Blame Jonathan for PIB delay
Earlier, Mr. Tambuwal called on Nigerians to hold the President responsible for the eventual delay that the passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) may face.
Mr. Jonathan was accused of sending the new PIB to the House on a day the chamber was commencing its annual break. The lawmakers commenced their annual break after Thursday’s sitting and are expected to resume on September 17.
The decision of the President to submit the bill to the lawmakers, a day to their recess, was criticized with some lawmakers suggesting the bill be rejected.
AjanleKoko: May 31, 2011 Well, they're one of the top two in Nigeria, the second being Air Nigeria.
That says a lot about local Nigerian airlines. Their customer service is beyond terrible, they cancel or delay flights with amazing regularity, and they are hardly consistent. One time they flew people from Owerri to Lagos with no AC in the plane.
Ironically, I flew them to London in 2009 and they were very okay. Also, an expat in my office flew them to New York, and they weren't bad, sometime last year. So maybe they put extra efforts in the long haul flights, especially as they're not only dealing with Nigerians.
In summary, I wonder why one even needs to ask. Air travel locally is traumatic in Nigeria, and the experience is often nasty, irrespective of which airline it is. The other nondescript airlines, like Dana and Chachangi, I don't even try to move near them.
Nnemuka: you people will just be saying nonsense... ordinary local route Arik cannot maintain, no day passes without arik cancelling or delaying their flights and you expect them to do well flying int'l? i mean Arik does not even fly outside Africa because they do not have the expertise, management and facilities in place to operate such route. Our saving grace is Etihad and Emirates..... infact all arab airlines flies to the US at a cheap rate
Pavarottii: My take, is that only payment of salaries and allowances that will be implemented. If u r waiting for capital projects. U must be on a very long high jump.
Confused govt. Shebi our GDP grew by 0.36% in d first quarter. Let us see how many this second quarter, if it won't enter Minus.
APC thought governance is all about stealing money because they tot was the only thing PDP was doing. Now u there, money u no come even see thief, so the frustration of that gives birth to the Zero Knowledge of Good management and governance.
Empty skulls parading themselves as leaders. Copy and paste government, they couldn't even prepare a budget on their own, to show the level of laziness and dumbness of APC, they just did copy and paste from PDP own and inflated figures to steal to set off their election debts. Even that one sef, them no fit copy and well, only one budget, missing, padded, 2 diff copies, some ministers don't even know wat is in their ministry, lawmakers put and remove, executive put and remove, grey areas, at a point in time they just had to pass the rubbish budget, where aso rock renovation is more than renovation for almost fed universities. It's a shame to call urself a Nigeria under buhari's led administration.
Good riddance.
Great summary post of this APC federal administration. We have to wait three more years for the good riddance in 2019
mayorchelsea: The wailing wailers, keyboard warriors that 'tore' Aregbesola in shreds have stayed away.Imagine the double standard,no one takes them serious sha!!
Who is stopping you from tearing apart who ever you want
Eluwilussit: Is there any sensible government that refers to its people as 5% and call it's people criminals? Our Oga even agreed that we are fantastically corrupt. Our president is d no 1 thug. He needs to learn some tact.
This is a man who understands exactly what to do. Has a track record of victories. And has the political will to keep Nigerians safe across the Federation.
Kidnapper, Terrorists, Militants, Arm Rubbers, Criminals - find something legitimate to do with your life. The next President of Nigeria is NOT into Military-Costume-Wearing. He is a Retired Major General. Trained in Nigeria, India, United Kingdom and the United States. He is an over performer. He is not shy of the Facts. Our Senior Military Commanders will not eat Military budget and clean mouth under his watch.
Don't mind those that tell you that Nigeria Cannot be Changed. That things can't be better. They just want to keep looting. When they exhaust their lies, they will start mocking, insulting and posting cartoons.
While PDP are hoping to rig themselves in, Buhari and the entire APC team believe you have the capacity to elect Buhari with your votes alone. Let see who wins (PDP Rigging vs The Votes of the Masses).
This Change is Unstoppable. Sai Buhari. 5days to go!
