Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), David Babachir Lawal, was among guests who attended the launch of a campaign group for the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 general election. Lawal was a cynosure of all eyes when he showed up during the event tagged “Together Nigeria” held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, jointly organised by the Office of the Wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari and Buhari Support Organisation (BSO).
Buhari, who also attended the event, promised that party men and women who work hard for the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019 general elections would be rewarded adequately.
He regretted that not all those that worked for the party in 2015 were rewarded, but assured that more rewards would come in 2019.
“At this point, I would like to acknowledge the overwhelming support I enjoyed from individuals and organisations across the country over the years. I say thank you to all those who contributed to our successes in one way or the other.”

Barawo bubu is running the most corrupt federal government evr. #Fact. dre11: ‘Who is the presidency?’ — shocked Babachir Lawal reacts to suspension
Babachir Lawal, secretary to the government of the federation, has told reporters to ask the “presidency” why he was suspended. In an encounter with reporters on Wednesday shortly after his suspension was announced, a clearly shocked Lawal stalled on all the questions he was asked. Informed that his suspension was announced by the presidency, he retorted: “Who is the presidency?” He had been in a meeting with vice-president when Femi Adesina, presidential spokesman, announced his suspension pending investigations into the the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE). Also suspended is Ayo Oke, director-general of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), over the funds recovered from a private residence in Ikoyi, Lagos state, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
THE EXCHANGE IN FULL Reporters: Your suspension has just been announced. How will you react to the development? Lawal: Who announced it? Reporters: The presidency Lawal: Then ask them. Why are you asking me? Who is the presidency? Reporters: Have you been informed of the suspension? Lawal: By who? About what. What about you? Have you been informed? Reporters: Yes sir. Lawal: By who? Reporters: By the presidency sir. Lawal: I have not seen it. I should have been given… I have not seen the press release so I cannot comment on it. Reporters: It is currently trending online. Are you doubting the authenticity of the statement? Lawal: I have not seen it. Reporters: Tell us the outcome of your meeting with the vice-president. Lawal: I am always here. I always meet the vice-president. I used to come here even before I was made SGF.

Escobar7: Pls read and know more about people before assuming sides, Sanusi like his grandfather spend money from the Kano Emirate account amounting to a billion plus, he was investigated though politically motivated, but was found guilty. He who must go to equity must go with clean hands. Just as he did with Jonathan- after he was indicted by the FRC he started singing like a canary bird of missing N70 billion that he reduced to N50 billion then N20 billion and then to N10 billion. He mistook Ganduje/Buhari for Jonathan. Sanusi is a joker who is believed by the 200 million mumus in the Fulani Republic of Naijeriya, FRN. barcanista: Since I was born, I have never witness the kind of hypocrisy, double standard and demonisation that is currently perpetrated by Muhammadu Buhari, the APC, Alhaji Sanusi, Osinbajo and their "good governance crusaders" against the person of President Goodluck Jonathan, Allison Madekwe, and other government officials.
Alhajis Buhari and Sanusi and APC have been going about using every platform to talk about a "missing $20b", cheered by their hypocritical followers that pride themselves as good governance crusaders. They have deliberately gone blind over the fraud of CBN under Sanusi as outlined by the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria report in February 2014.
Sanusi Indicted And Removed For Fraud According to the report (see below) Sanusi was indicted for Gross Misconduct that bothers on fraud and financial recklessness among other offence. The FRCN subsequently advised Mr President to remove Lamido Sanusi from office for further investigation and probe after the explanation of Sanusi appeared more like a tale and outrightly illogical according to FRCN. The council indicates that the explanation provided by Sanusi is “a clear display of incompetence, nonchalance, fraud, wastefulness, and abuse of due process and deliberate efforts to misrepresent facts on the part of the leadership of the CBN.”
The council advised the President to exercise the powers conferred on him by Section 11(2)(f) of the CBN Act 2007 or invoke Section 11(2)(c) of the said Act “and cause the governor and the deputy governors to cease from holding office in the CBN.”
April 2014: VP-elect Yemi Osibanjo Filed Case To Stop Sanusi Probe Rather than Sanusi to prove his innocence in court, he filed a case in Federal High Court, Lagos to STOP FRCN and Other Security Agencies from investigating and prosecuting him through three Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, Dr. Kanyinsola Ajayi and Kola Awodien. http://www.theguardianmobile.com/readNewsItem1.php?nid=24587
13 May 2014: Lagos Judge Tshoho Grants Sanusi Prayers High Court Judge John Tshoho rather than uphold the constitutional powers of FRCN to investigate probe Sanusi, he granted the prayers of Lamido Sanusi and BARRED FRCN from further investigation or probing Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. In his own words... “Prejudice is very pronounced in the language of that document. The language of the briefing note (transmitted by the FRCN to the presidency) conveys a sense of the defendant desperately goading the presidency to deal with the plaintiff,” “The plaintiff submitting himself for investigation (by FRCN) is like the cockroach finding itself in the midst of fowls. Such a cockroach cannot be innocent,”. http://www.tv360nigeria.com/?p=11923
Despite the fact the President Jonathan commissioned PWC to audit NNPC books to ascertain the veracity or otherwise of Sanusi's claim, Buhari, APC, Sanusi and their online agents that parade themselves as good governance and anticorruption apostles have been crying blue murder but refused to comment on the FRCN report nor the APC's VP elect role in shielding Sanusi for probe.
April 26, 2015: Buhari's Display of Hypocrisy In his usual hypocrisy, General Buahri vowed to re-visit the $20b allegation but said NOTHING about the FRCN report. In his own word... “Imagine a situation where the former CBN governor who by God ‘s grace would later become the Emir of Kano raised an issue of missing billions of money, not in Naira but in Dollars, $20 billion. “What happened, instead of investigating to know whether it was true that the money was missing or not, they simply found a reason to remove him. So these are the issues we are talking about…" Contrary to the lies of Alhaji Buhari, Sanusi wasn't removed because he raised alarm, he was removed because he was indicted by FRCN. Jonathan also never kept mute, he commissioned PWC to audit the books. Buhari was also blind to talk about prosecuting Sanusi for the CBN fraud. Perhaps the Emir is as "incorruptible" as him(Buhari) The FRCN’s report on Sanusihttps://saharareporters.com/sites/default/files/page_images/galleries/2014/AW0D5621.JPG?1392910970The decision to suspend the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Sanusi Lamido was based on a report of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria dated June 7, 2013. The report was made after a review of Sanusi’s response to the query issued to him by the President over the apex bank’s financial statement of 2012. His response was dated May 20, 2013. According to a copy of the report obtained by our correspondent on Thursday, the council indicates that the explanation provided by the suspended CBN governor is “a clear display of incompetence, nonchalance, fraud, wastefulness, and abuse of due process and deliberate efforts to misrepresent facts on the part of the leadership of the CBN.” The council advised the President to exercise the powers conferred on him by Section 11(2)(f) of the CBN Act 2007 or invoke Section 11(2)(c) of the said Act “and cause the governor and the deputy governors to cease from holding office in the CBN.” The report read: The particulars of the infractions against Sanusi are: Persistent refusal and/or negligence to comply with the Public Procurement Act in the procurement practices of the Central Bank of Nigeria.(A) By virtue of Section 15 (1)(a) of the Public Procurement Act, the provisions of the Act are expected to comply to ‘all procurement of goods, works and services carried out by the Federal Government of Nigeria and all procurement entities.’ This definition clearly includes the Central Bank of Nigeria. (B) It is however regrettable that the Central Bank of Nigeria, under his leadership, has refused and/or neglected to comply with the provisions of the Public Procurement Act (PPA). You will recall that one of the primary reasons for the enactment of the PPA was the need to promote transparency, competitiveness, cost of effectiveness and professionalism in the public sector procurement system. SECURITY operatives yesterday dragged the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Nuhu Ribadu, from the graduation ceremonies at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru.
Ribadu, who had successfully completed his course at the NIPSS, was at the Unity Hall of the institute where he and other colleagues were seated, waiting to be conferred with the Members of the National Institute (mni) when the operatives pounced on him.
He was dragged out of the hall and taken to an unknown destination within the premises of the institute.
The institute's authorities said he could not participate at the ceremony on health ground but Ribadu, who returned to Abuja yesterday, has debunked this claim.

''Meanwhile, Lagos lawyer and rights crusader, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, has described as "most disheartening, absolute bizarre and unprecedentedly barbaric" the prevention of Mallam Ribadu from graduating yesterday at NIPSS, Kuru.
He said Ribadu's travails through the Yar'Adua administration shows that government has the tendencies of fascism and its profession for the rule of law "is smokescreen and hypocrisy of the worst order." (emphasis mine) |

ITbomb: America entered the middle east to control the flow of cheap crude so that their expensive shale oil can be produced. That's why they could fund the arab wars. The real price of oil is $25 - $30 per barrel. Obasanjo achieved all he did with $23 - $40 per barrel. Methink, Nigeria can run on $35 per barrel by reducing cost of governance and decentralizing (removing things from the exclusive list). Anything over $40 should be strictly for infrastructure based on development plan
But then, commonsense tells me that Buhari = Badluck www.nairaland.com/attachments/2186280_buhari2blaugh1_jpegc35d9ea4e30142f9302718e17f58f220 |

saaron: Like I said in the other thread, I don't give a crap about what happens in fulani kingdom. They can fight and dethrone themselves for all I care. It's their bloody northern fulani islamic problem, not Nigeria. However, I'm not surprised that Sanusi was detroned. In the first place, Aminu Ado Bayero was/is the rightful heir to the throne, not Sanusi. Sanusi's enthronement as emir of Kano was based nothing but political considerations to spite GEJ and water down his govt's influence in the north as 2015 presidential elections approaches.
Sanusi allowed himself to be used by GEJ's political opponents. They used him extensively to discredit the then PDP govt and make them unpopular by throwing out unbelievable figures that huge sums of dollars amouting to billions have disapeared from the vault. But Sanusi, who at that time was under investigation for financial impropriety in CBN by the Financial Intelligence of Nigeria made the spurious allegation of missing cash to save himself. Of course Sanusi's investigation by the then govt was immediately given a political coloration by the opposition APC who claimed Sanusi was being persecuted for raising alarm over alleged missing $20 billion. An allegation even Sanusi himself could not defend as he gave out conflicting figures when interrogated by the Senate. After Sanusi's suspension as CBN gov by the then president GEJ to allow for smooth Investigations on Sanusi's financial activities in CBN (Remember the N100 million CBN money Sanusi outrightly gave out to Kano IDPs?).
The opposition, who at that time were solidly behind Sanusi for politics of course then came up with a plan. How can they save Sanusi from investigation and possible prosecution by GEJ's govt? Royal office was the solution. Give Sanusi royal office. Since royal office holders in Nigeria are hardly investigated or prosecuted for corruption no matter how bloody corrupt they're based on Nigeria's corrupt feeding bottle system, the opposition led by Kwankwaso who was Kano gov at that time decided to make Sanusi a royal office holder. Almost immediately, Sanusi was announced by the Kano state gov, Kwankwaso as the new emir of Kano, amids protest by Kano people of course.
All this was done to save Sanusi from prosecution and spite GEJ govt who incidentally at that time were lobbying for Aminu Ado Bayero. Funy enough, Aminu Bayero is now the new emir of Kano. Turns out GEJ's govt were supporting the right candidate. Well, now with Sanusi dethrone, I guess the corrupt alliance the then APC opposition saints had with him has expired. Sanusi is nothing but a bloody corrupt fellow who used the ''Royal Office'' antidote to save himself from prosecution. ONE NIGERIA IS DEAD! May the oil of wisdom in your head never finish.
