BusinessDangote Sets Sights On $200 Billion Valuation As Refinery IPO Looms In 2026 by AnonPoet(op): 11:23am On Dec 18, 2025
Aliko Dangote, head of the Dangote Group, has unveiled sweeping expansion targets that would see the conglomerate achieve a market capitalisation above $200bn and generate annual revenues of $100bn by the end of the decade.

The bold forecast comes ahead of plans to publicly list the group’s $20bn refinery on the Nigerian Exchange in 2026, a move expected to reshape the country’s investment landscape.

Currently operating at a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, the Dangote Refinery is poised to play a crucial role in Nigeria’s efforts to curtail its dependence on imported petroleum products. The facility’s output is scheduled to expand dramatically, with plans to reach 1.4 million barrels daily within the next three years, which would establish it among the world’s largest single-train refineries.

The planned initial public offering will feature a distinctive structure allowing investors to purchase shares in naira while collecting dividends in U.S. dollars—an arrangement designed to shield both domestic and international shareholders from currency fluctuations.

Revenue projections indicate that petrochemical exports, including polypropylene and fertiliser products, could generate $6.4bn annually, providing the foundation for the dollar-denominated dividend payments.

The Dangote Group has experienced substantial financial growth in recent years, with revenues climbing from $3.3bn to $18bn over a five-year period. During the same timeframe, EBITDA increased from $1.8bn to $2.8bn.

Beyond the refinery, the conglomerate maintains three other publicly traded companies on the Nigerian Exchange: Dangote Sugar Refinery, NASCON Allied Industries, and Dangote Cement, which ranks among the bourse’s three most valuable listings.

Dangote made clear that the refinery IPO will primarily target Nigerian investors, though the possibility of secondary international listings has not been ruled out.

“We want the Dangote Refinery to be the golden stock of the exchange,” he stated, adding that the company is working closely with the Nigerian Exchange and the Securities and Exchange Commission to ensure all regulatory requirements are met ahead of the listing.

PoliticsNon-Oil Exports Hit Record ₦9.2 Trillion In Nine Months Of 2025 by AnonPoet(op): 4:42am On Dec 16, 2025
Nigeria’s non-oil exports surged to a record N9.2 trillion in the first nine months of 2025, rising 48% from N6.2 trillion recorded over the same period in 2024, according to Foreign Trade in Goods Statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

The sharp increase underscores how the 2023 naira devaluation continues to reshape Nigeria’s external trade profile, lifting export revenues in naira terms and improving the competitiveness of non-oil products in global markets.

While the acceleration marks the strongest non-oil export performance since at least 2015, when the NBS began publishing consistent trade series, the data also highlights the structural limits of diversification, with oil and gas still dominating the country’s export earnings.

Non-oil exports have expanded rapidly since the currency adjustment of mid-2023, which weakened the naira and improved pricing for Nigerian exporters abroad.

Total non-oil exports stood at just N3.1 trillion for the whole of 2023, meaning the first nine months of 2025 alone have already tripled the value recorded in the year the currency was first devalued.

What the data is saying
In Q3 2025, Nigeria recorded N2.996 trillion in non-oil exports, up from N2.5 trillion in the same quarter of 2024. This compares with N683 billion in Q3 2023 and N438 billion in Q3 2022, underscoring the scale of the shift over a short period.

Monthly exports approach N1 trillion
A closer look at the monthly figures reveals how sharply export values have repriced:

July 2025: N1.23 trillion
August 2025: N0.88 trillion
September 2025: N0.89 trillion
On average, Nigeria is now generating close to N1 trillion per month in non-oil export receipts, a level that was previously unattainable under the old exchange rate regime.

The NBS trade data is published in naira terms, meaning currency depreciation mechanically inflates export values even when export volumes do not rise proportionately.

Oil still dominates the export structure
Despite the record figures, non-oil exports remain structurally subordinate within Nigeria’s broader export mix.

Non-oil goods accounted for roughly 12–14% of total exports on a monthly basis in Q3 2025, with crude oil, refined petroleum products and gas continuing to dominate export receipts.

This leaves Nigeria’s foreign exchange inflows highly exposed to oil price volatility, suggesting that while non-oil exports are growing, they are not yet transformational for the balance of payments.

What is driving non-oil export growth?
The composition of non-oil exports reveals a concentration in capital-intensive and energy-linked industries, rather than broad-based manufacturing.

According to the NBS data:

Products of the chemical and allied industries generated N845 billion in Q3 2025
Prepared foodstuffs, beverages, spirits and tobacco contributed N692 billion
Vehicles, aircraft and parts; vessels and floating structures accounted for N550.8 billion
Vegetable products recorded N214.5 billion
A sectoral breakdown shows:

Agricultural exports: N786.6 billion
Raw material exports: N1.0 trillion
Solid mineral exports: N100.8 billion
Within non-oil categories, manufactured goods exports reached N2.0 trillion in Q3 2025, while energy-related manufactured exports stood at about N91 billion.

An uneven manufacturing story
The data also reveals a persistent imbalance in Nigeria’s trade structure.

While N2 trillion worth of manufactured goods were exported in the quarter, Nigeria spent N4.75 trillion importing manufactured products over the same period, highlighting the country’s continued dependence on foreign industrial output.

Much of Nigeria’s manufactured exports are concentrated in fertilisers, refined petroleum products, petrochemicals and heavy industrial items, rather than light manufacturing or consumer goods, limiting the breadth of diversification.

The surge in non-oil exports confirms that Nigeria’s exporters are responding to improved price incentives following the naira adjustment.

Nigeria also appears to be demonstrating the capacity to generate trillion-naira monthly export receipts outside oil under the right conditions.

EducationEnugu Varsity Dismisses Rumours Of Bandit Settlement Near Campus by AnonPoet(op): 4:48am On Dec 15, 2025
The management of Maduka University in Enugu has denied claims suggesting the presence of bandit settlements near its campus.

The university, located in the Ekwegbe community of Igbo-Etiti local government area, labelled the reports as an effort by detractors aimed at sparking fear among prospective students and parents.

In a statement on Sunday, the university stated that a video over which the claim was made inaccurately suggests criminal elements operate in the immediate vicinity of the campus.

The management affirmed that the institution is safe, secure, and fully protected by appropriate security measures.

It urged the public to entirely disregard the “false alarm,” confirming that the campus continues to operate normally with a secure and conducive learning environment.

The university said it remains committed to student and staff safety, maintaining that it will continue to liaise with relevant security agencies to ensure the campus remains secure.

The university also addressed what it termed “false and damaging reports circulating online” regarding the death of one of its nursing students, stating it owed the public an accurate account of the incident.

The management clarified that the student arrived at the medical center in an unhealthy condition via the hospital ambulance, not on foot or with friends as speculated, and that the claim of administering a diclofenac injection is entirely false.

Upon arrival around 9:30 pm, the doctor on duty evaluated the student, carried out necessary investigations, administered appropriate medication, and made a working diagnosis.

The management said the student initially responded well and was placed under continuous monitoring with full nursing attention.

However, her condition suddenly deteriorated around 4:00 am.

The management said the nurses promptly alerted the doctor, and the student was quickly transferred in the university’s 24-hour ambulance to another hospital for expanded emergency management.

The university debunked the allegation that the doctor acted as the ambulance driver, confirming its dedicated ambulance service was used for the transfer.

The management also noted that the student had a concealed chronic medical condition, which was not disclosed prior to the emergency and significantly contributed to the ensuing complications.

PoliticsAfrica Youth Games Angola 2025: Team Nigeria Sustains Swimming Revolution by AnonPoet(op): 6:21am On Dec 14, 2025
AFRICA YOUTH GAMES ANGOLA 2025: TEAM NIGERIA SUSTAINS NIGERIA'S SWIMMING REVOLUTION

- Clement Nwankpa Jr in Luanda

If trends are to be reckoned with, Nigeria seems to be bulldozing her way into a hitherto uncharted territory in sports. Over the years, we have decried the nation's lack of podium appearances in swimming, a multi medal event at major Games.

At the continental level, we had watched nations like Egypt and South Africa feast on medals in water like sharks preying in the sea. These medals ultimately enabled these countries to finish ahead of Nigeria in the overall medals table in most of these events. If Nigeria had not been impressive in Africa, of course little should be expected at the global stage.

The shortcomings in swimming weren't accidental. They were as a result of poor foundations. This is one of the sports that athletes stand better chances of excelling when they start very early. And we had never even been excellent at the junior levels.

Meanwhile, recent events point to a change in the nation's fortunes in swimming. There has been a consistent harvest of medals by the nation's teenagers in age group championships, a development that has been carried over to the ongoing Africa Youth Games in Angola.

In May, 17 year old Abdul Jabar Adama emerged the best male athlete at the 3rd Africa Junior Swimming Championships in Cairo. He won three gold in the 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle to lead Nigeria to a third place finish on the overall medals table. On two occasions, he broke the championship record in 50m butterfly on the same day.

Then in August this year, Adama became the first Nigerian to win a medal at the World Aquatics Junior Championships held in Romania with a silver in the men's 50m butterfly. His time of 23.48 secs in the semifinal was a new national record. He had also set the old record of 23.61 that same morning. Meanwhile, prior to the world championship, he had set a record of 23.81 at the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships in April. So here was a sensation setting records and breaking the same.

Adama was setting the pace but results from the swimming events at the Africa Youth Games in Angola on Saturday highlighted a generational shift. Obviously Adama isn't alone in this revolution. At the AYG, 14 year old Aidan Dumuje Abili, who was in the Invited Junior Athletes contingent at the Gateway Games, clinched a bronze in 50m butterfly with a personal best time of 25.78, an improvement from the 26.07 he did in Ghana in October.

Abili was a beneficiary of the IJA initiative that enabled budding athletes to rub shoulders with the elites. He had won two silver and one bronze at the last National Sports Festival. After his exploits at the Gateway Games, Abili had set his sights on the global stage aiming to be a trailblazer at the Olympics.

He said, "I have not participated at this level before. On behalf of the other IJA athletes, I thank the NSC for this opportunity. I have learnt quite a lot here. This exposure will surely help me in my career."

Abili, who was a triple gold medalist at the 2024 National Youth Games, promised to take advantage of the Gateway Games participation to put Nigeria on the podium in future global events.

"I have my eyes now on the Youth Olympics. After that I will target the Olympics in the years ahead. I will do my best to make sure I put Nigeria on the podium in appreciation of this opportunity. We have to make this IJA experience count", he added.

On the evidence of today's performance, he is obviously living up to this promise of consistently putting the nation on the podium in the future. His sights are on Youth Olympics and the Olympics proper but the NSF and AYG are perfect stepping stones.

PoliticsOgun: Ghosts Of Failed Successions - Biola Odetola by AnonPoet(op): 3:34pm On Dec 05, 2025
“The hunter’s death often sleeps inside his own pouch.

The calabash that fetches honey must beware the nest of bees.

When the goat strays too far into the forest, the leopard does not send an invitation.”

These lines, drawn from the deep well of Yoruba wisdom, are not mere sayings; they are warnings, wrapped in parables, for those who guide the destiny of kingdoms. In Ogun State today, these warnings must guide our steps as we stand at the cusp of a crucial political crossroads.

For over a decade, I have devoted my youth and strength to building young people in Ogun State. I have watched kings rise and fall, leaders gain power and lose the plot, and I have seen mighty bridges collapse for lack of pillars strong enough to hold them up when storms come. I have seen good men build roads, schools, and hospitals, but forget to build a bridge to the future that would outlive them and guarantee a lasting legacy.

Ogun’s story is littered with the ghosts of failed successions. In their silent chambers, our leaders know: what kills the hunter lurks in his apó, his own pouch. In today’s case, the hunter is the Ogun State chapter of the APC, the pouch is our unity, and the death that lurks is a needless and careless succession crisis.

History shows that every governor until now has wrestled with this dilemma. Past administrations have struggled to secure seamless transitions. The consequences have been abrupt halts of laudable projects, abandoned policy blueprints, and the needless resetting of progress every four or eight years. Your Excellency was at the centre of some of the intrigues, sir.

Today, however, providence has given us a chance through you to rewrite this story. For the first time, Ogun has a sitting governor whose leadership has positioned the APC as the undisputed majority party. Under the ISEYA Agenda — Infrastructure, Social Welfare, Education, Youth Empowerment, and Agriculture, your calm, focused, people-driven style has earned broad goodwill across divides. But goodwill alone will not secure the future.

Your Excellency, the talking drums of 2027 have started to beat, softly at first, but now gathering volume in palace courtyards, bars and lounges and under mango trees where elders gather to chew kolanut and weigh the hearts of men. There is an adage that says, “A child who washes his hands will dine with elders”, but another reminds us that when elders fail to speak the truth, the market square becomes a forest.

Today, I speak not only as your appointee but as one who sits in the gathering of tomorrow’s elders. I say this truth, for silence now is not cowardice but suicidal.

Your refusal to bless the obvious path before you will open the forest to the leopard. The ambition of the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial district, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, known as Yayi, is no longer hidden from all and sundry; the man is not a stranger to Ogun’s political terrain. He has become a rallying point, a unifier across divides, a man with the federal reach and local touch. To pretend otherwise is to hide the hunter’s death in his pouch.

There is huge political mileage for you, sir, in endorsing this aspiration that destiny itself has favoured. Doing so will not only make you the first governor in Ogun’s history to have a successor — a true elder statesman whose words echo in the corridors of power long after you leave office — but will seal your place not only in Ogun but in the heart of President Bola Tinubu, ensuring Ogun remains out of reach of the opposition for at least two more seasons of harvest.

Your Excellency, the collateral damage of your silence and rivalry over the Yayi ambition is real and painful. Many young and aspiring leaders in our state will be left lost in the wilderness; this is what is obtainable each time this kind of crisis erupts. They become vulnerable and abandoned in the cold when they should be mentored, guided, and shown the ropes. Our class of emerging political leaders does not need bickering and needless rivalry; rather, we need to be shown leadership, and this is the time for it.

Ogun State is too blessed to be dragged through a cycle of leadership uncertainty every four or eight years. Knowledge transfer is needed; more of us need to learn, grow, and serve within government. Many say you do not care about your appointees, but here is the time to show the whole state that you do, and that you are determined to protect the future of those who serve the state loyally through your emergence as governor.

Like my mentor often reminds me, you are a child of God, and it is only providence that could align Ogun’s stars this neatly for your tenure. Beyond the sweet songs of sycophants whispering in your cabinet, beyond the false praise of political jobbers who profit from confusion, you must hear us, the silent majority who serve this government with faith and loyalty.

Many who kneel before you by day bow before Yayi by night. Let us not pretend. The masquerade must not dance naked in the village square. If the drums of war beat, the elders will lose their voice, the youths will scatter like startled quails, and the forest will consume both hunter and pouch.

Your Excellency, do not allow those who fattened themselves at your table to drive you into needless battles. Many fanning the flames of conflict around Yayi’s ambition are not doing it for you, for the state, or the party, but for the profit they hope to reap from confusion. They are, like many of us, beneficiaries of your leadership today, but they will not carry the burden of your legacy tomorrow.

I must say openly what many whisper only in hushed tones: a significant number of political appointees and loyal party members are already sympathetic to Senator Yayi’s candidacy. They see the silent triggers, body language and signals; they see the things you have allowed and those you have opposed through proxies, but are waiting for you to go a step further and, at the earliest possible time, to either fully embrace the path that guarantees party unity and success or otherwise. Every delay allows opportunists to feed fat on the illusion of rivalry.

You stand at the threshold of history. By blessing the long-held dream of Ogun West to produce a governor for the first time since our state’s creation, you will not only balance our politics but earn the enduring love and gratitude of an entire region. As an Egba son, I naturally wished for my kinsmen to get the Oke Mosan seat in 2027, but the reality does not favour an Egba bid in 2027. To force it will only tear the party’s clothes and leave us naked before the cunning claws of the opposition.

Hon. Ladi Adebutu will come pounding with a heavy war chest. The ADC lurks with new alliances. The only warrior who can meet them pound for pound from the roots to the rooftops is clear, his name is YAYI. Picking any other person from Yewaland to compete against this widely accepted choice will only split the calabash, and the water will be wasted on the sand.

Let the hunter check his pouch now, not when he enters the forest. Let the goat return before the leopard’s eyes gleam in the dark. Let Ogun’s drums beat for peace, not war.

When the story of this season is written, let it be said that Governor Dapo Abiodun built roads, schools, an airport and hospitals, but above all, gave Ogun the gift of continuity, the true mark of a king who knew when to sheath the sword and bless the next warrior.

Your Excellency, please give us this gift. Secure Ogun’s future, and may history be kind to you.

Cross River:

Four passengers abducted by suspected sea pirates on the waterways between Nigeria and Cameroon have been rescued unharmed by the Nigerian Army, security sources confirmed.

The incident occurred on 2 December 2025 when Ebuka Clinton, Alice David Albino, Usin Divine, and another passenger boarded a commercial speed boat from Ikang Beach, Bakassi, to Isanghele Fishing Pond in Cameroon.

They were intercepted and taken hostage by suspected sea pirates to an unknown location on the waterways.

On spotting a Nigerian Army patrol boat, the assailants fired sporadically and abandoned the victims in their attempt to escape to the Cameroonian creeks using another speed boat.

One of the victims, Blessing Bassey Edem of Ikang, sustained a bullet injury on her right buttock. She and the other passengers were later rescued and conveyed to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital for treatment, where they are reported to be responding to medical attention.

Authorities are monitoring the waterways to prevent further abduction attempts.

PoliticsEkiti 2026: ADC Governorship Candidate, Bejide, Assures Supporters Of Victory by AnonPoet(op): 6:42am On Dec 04, 2025
The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has expressed renewed confidence in its preparedness for the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State, with its governorship candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide, assuring party supporters of certain victory.

Bejide, who received a warm welcome at the party’s secretariat in Ado-Ekiti following his return from Abuja, reaffirmed his commitment to leading the ADC to electoral success.

Addressing a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters, he described the gathering as an opportunity to thank God for how far the party had come, rather than a campaign rally.

He urged members to remain steadfast and not be discouraged by the recent crisis that occurred at the party secretariat, describing the incident as a temporary setback. “This is a positive beginning towards 2026,” he said. “The ticket is in God’s hands—no power comes except from Him.”

The gathering drew notable party figures, including State Chairman Pastor Omolayo, former Commissioner for Information, Akin Omole, Hon. Femi Adegbite, Otunba Emmanuel Fayose, and Hon. Dare Adekolu. They all pledged their support for Bejide’s ambition and reiterated their commitment to strengthening the party ahead of the election.

In his remarks, Pastor Omolayo commended members for showing courage by attending despite the recent tensions. He urged unity and solidarity, describing the ADC as a party built on love and mutual respect.

Barr. Omole acknowledged the unrest that rocked the party in the past weeks, noting that Ambassador Bejide had travelled to Abuja to address critical electoral matters. He praised members for staying committed and encouraged them to intensify their participation in party activities.

Other speakers, including Adegbite, Fayose, and Adekolu emphasized the need for loyalty, cooperation, and unwavering dedication. They assured supporters that the ADC leadership is working to resolve internal issues and reposition the party for victory.

Bejide, while addressing the earlier attack on the party office, described it as politically motivated and confirmed that the matter had been reported to authorities in Abuja. He also highlighted the broader national challenges of insecurity and unemployment, linking them to leadership failures over the years.

He maintained that empowering citizens through skills acquisition and revitalizing the agricultural sector would help address these issues in Ekiti and across Nigeria.

“We have a lot to do, and we are determined to achieve it,” Bejide declared, reaffirming the ADC’s readiness to work tirelessly for the people.

With renewed confidence from its leadership and supporters, the ADC says it is poised to be a major contender as the countdown to the 2026 Ekiti governorship election intensifies.

PoliticsMbah Presents ₦1.62 Trillion 2026 Budget, Prioritises Education, Infrastructure by AnonPoet(op): 6:08am On Dec 03, 2025
Mbah Presents N1.62trn 2026 Budget, Prioritises Education, Infrastructure, Healthcare

Governor Peter Mbah on Tuesday presented the Enugu State 2026 Budget Estimates to the House of Assembly, proposing a total expenditure of approximately ₦1.62 trillion for the 2026 fiscal year. The governor described the proposal as a budget designed to consolidate ongoing gains, accelerate growth, and deliver development at full scale across the state.

The proposed budget represents a 66.5 percent increase over the 2025 fiscal year. Mbah said the expansion reflects the momentum of the state’s transformation programme and the administration’s resolve to sustain and deepen reforms initiated over the past two years.

According to the governor, the state expects to generate ₦870 billion in internally generated revenue, ₦387 billion from FAAC, and ₦329 billion in capital receipts. He noted that these projections are grounded in real revenue performance and supported by new economic engines activated through recent reforms.

A major feature of the proposal is the allocation of 80 percent of total expenditure to capital projects, with 20 percent earmarked for recurrent spending. Mbah said the distribution underscores his commitment to development-focused governance, ensuring that investments continue to target roads, schools, hospitals, water infrastructure, transport systems, digital platforms, and other productive assets.

The education sector again received the largest share of the budget, taking more than 30 percent for the second consecutive year. The governor said the funds would support the expansion of the Smart Schools initiative, the rollout of Smart Secondary Schools, and the strengthening of technical and vocational institutions to prepare young people for an innovation-driven future.

The health sector is allocated 10 percent of the budget, which will fund the completion of 260 Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres, the upgrade of 51 secondary health facilities, the 300-bed Enugu International Hospital, and ongoing reforms at Parklane. Mbah reiterated that the administration’s goal is to ensure equitable access to quality healthcare across the state.

Infrastructure and transportation are also set for major expansion in 2026. The budget provides for extensive urban and rural road construction and rehabilitation, new transport terminals, an expanded taxi fleet, and increased capacity for Enugu Air as a regional connector. The governor said these investments are aimed at improving mobility, opening markets, and supporting commerce.

Agriculture will receive significant attention, with all 260 Farm Estates nearing completion and scheduled to be equipped with warehouses, irrigation systems, tractor sheds, and dedicated energy sources to support mechanised farming and agro-processing. According to the governor, the initiative is expected to boost food production, strengthen rural economies, and create thousands of jobs.

The tourism sector is positioned for growth through ongoing upgrades at Awhum, Okpatu, Nsude, Ngwo, and Akwuke, transforming them into world-class attractions capable of drawing up to three million visitors annually. The housing sector, which received more than 15 percent of the budget, will support the delivery of 15,000 mass housing units next year as part of the administration’s 30,000-unit plan. The New Enugu Smart City is expected to come fully onstream after its infrastructure is completed in 2026, with a projected economic impact of over ₦300 billion.

On security, Mbah announced expanded investments in surveillance and intelligence systems to strengthen coverage across more local government areas. He emphasised that security remains the foundation of the state’s development agenda.

The governor also acknowledged the role of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in promoting fiscal reforms, national infrastructure programmes, and security collaboration that support subnational development.

Politically, Peter Obi Cannot Stand Next To Tinubu - Samklef

Base on my perspective make sure you read cause I no say una no sabi read. Till i return on the 21st.

Politically, Peter Obi cannot stand next to Tinubu — let’s be honest.

What exactly did Peter Obi achieve in his own state when he was governor?
Do you know how many youths were killed and thrown into the river under his watch?

When Obasanjo was president, he was arrogant, entitled, and wicked. He held back Lagos State’s allocation and refused to fix the 1999 Constitution that’s still affecting your lives today.

Tinubu built Lagos with loans, survived the pressure, invested in people, and still rose. He even paid my school fees — I went to Fagba Grammar School and Sinmori.

Today, that same Tinubu is paying every state their allocation and restructuring Nigeria little by little — but many of you are too blinded by noise to see it.

You want a country that has been sick for 60 years to be healed in just 2 years?

Do you even know the name of your Local Government Chairman?
Do you know how much your Representatives and Governors collect on your behalf?

Una go just dey follow crowd like zombies.

A Trustee of ESSTF and the Anglican Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Rt. Rev. Onyekachi Onyia, justified the heavy investment in security, highlighting the state’s strategic place in the security and stability of the entire South East and the defunct Eastern Region.

“We know the consequences of leaving Enugu porous. If terrorists are able to get through Enugu, the South East is finished. It will not end well,” he stated.

To further boost the security of lives and property, Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, has inaugurated hi-tech security equipment and patrol vehicles procured by the Enugu State Security Trust Fund, ESSTF.

Items inaugurated were two state-of-the-art drones, 10 Hilux vehicles (4x4), 40 motorcycles, 400 bulletproof vests, and 400 bulletproof helmets.

Inaugurating the items at Government House, Enugu, on Monday, Governor Mbah thanked the Trustees of ESSTF for their commitment to strengthening security in the state, saying that the items would complement the administration’s existing investments in security, including the state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre, AI-enabled surveillance cameras across the state, and over 150 Distress Response Squad vehicles fitted with AI-embedded cameras.

He observed that the administration’s achievements and humongous vision would have come to naught without the security of lives and property, but assured that his government would not rest on its oars and would continue to cooperate with the President Bola Tinubu Administration, which he said was working tirelessly to make sure the country is safe and secure.

“The security challenges we are having are local, and at the state level, we must also play our own role to ensure our localities are safe. So, these items will be deployed to ensure Enugu State remains the safest state in this country.

“We can confidently say that violent crimes have been reduced by over 80 per cent in Enugu State today. But as you know, we are not resting on our laurels because the criminals and bad elements we are dealing with are not resting, but are looking for any opportunity to breach our security.

“Security is one sector you may have scored 90 per cent, but just one breach can undermine all the successes you have accomplished. That is why we must invest heavily in equipment and infrastructure that enable us to nip crime in the bud and act quickly when one has been committed. That is why today’s event is reinforcing,” Mbah stated.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of ESSTF, Ike Chioke, who was represented by a member of the ESSTF Board of Trustees, Nath Udeh, said there was no longer any hiding place for criminals, adding that the inaugurated items would boost the governor’s efforts to position Enugu as the safest state to live and invest in.

He assured that ESSTF would do more, noting that the drastic improvement in security under the Mbah Administration was visible in the number of visitors and businesses presently coming into the state.

“Despite the number of flights now coming into Enugu, if you do not book on time, you do not get a seat. That tells you the amount of traffic now coming into Enugu. Some companies also want to have their retreats and a couple of assignments here in Enugu. These are signs to show that there is something nice happening here,” he added.

Throwing more light on the security items, the Executive Secretary of ESSTF, Engr. Chinedu Ani, explained that the two Vertical Take-off and Landing (VTOL) drones would enable operations in any kind of terrain, as they would not need a runway to take off.

“The drones also have a coverage and a range of 100km and as far as I know, from this spot (Command and Control Centre), which is where we normally take off, the longest air distance in Enugu here is 90km. So, it has the capability to go beyond Enugu State. And also, we can cruise at 120km per hour. They are quite fast.

“Each drone has several cameras, including thermal camera, night vision and daytime vision. Those cameras can zoom up to so many kilometres from the position of the drone. So, it is a very powerful equipment that has a lot of technologies.

EducationTS Academy Receives Accreditation From The American Council Of Training And Deve by AnonPoet(op): 4:10am On Nov 15, 2025
TS Academy (Tech Sphere Academy), an African edtech platform dedicated to helping African tech talent build job-ready digital and tech skills, has been officially accredited by the American Council of Training and Development (ACTD).

The accreditation comes as the Academy introduces new courses designed to help more Africans build practical, job-ready skills in AI & Automation, DevOps Engineering, Software Engineering, Product Design, Cybersecurity, Project Management and Data Analytics, with each course is designed to close the skill gap between learning and employment, with mentorship, practical projects, and assessments forming a central part of the experience.

Speaking on the development, Adetola Durojaiye, Founder of Tech Sphere Academy, said the recognition validates the Academy’s commitment to providing world-class learning for African talent.

This recognition means a lot to us because it shows that our work is aligned with global standards. And our focus is to ensure that African tech talent can compete confidently in the international job market, and that starts with proper training, real mentorship, and the right opportunities.” Durojaiye said.

With its newly earned accreditation, Tech Sphere Academy plans to deepen partnerships with employers and tech communities, creating more channels for learners to access work opportunities and career development support across the continent.

To make learning accessible, the Academy launched a scholarship program worth one billion naira, which has already provided 3,000 Africans with fully funded access to its digital and tech training courses. The scholarship aims to remove financial barriers and create pathways for young people eager to transition into tech careers.

We’re very intentional about making sure access isn’t limited to those who can afford it. We want every learner who joins us to get more than training; we want our students to be connected to mentors, communities, and opportunities that help them grow without having to break the bank,” Durojaiye added.

TS Academy’s programs combine live instruction with practical projects, career guidance, and internship support to ensure students can apply what they learn in work environments. The Academy also maintains an active alumni network that connects learners to internship placements, job openings, and collaborative projects with partner companies.

The new ACTD accreditation strengthens TS Academy’s credibility and opens new doors for global partnerships. The Academy says it plans to expand its presence across Africa through local tech communities and employer networks that support young professionals looking to enter or advance in the tech industry.

1. It is with a profound sense of honour, humility and gratitude to God Almighty that I stand before you today as the 23rd Chief of the Naval Staff. I am eternally grateful to the President and Commander-in-Chief, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, for finding me worthy to lead the Nigerian Navy. I am humbled by the trust bestowed upon me and fully recognise the responsibilities this esteemed office carries. Today marks not just a personal milestone, but also a reaffirmation of our collective commitment to the values and mission of the Nigerian Navy. As I assume command, I, by God’s grace promise to uphold the proud traditions of excellence and service that define our Navy. I am fully aware of the immense responsibilities associated with this role, and I commit to executing my duties with unwavering dedication, integrity, fairness and loyalty to the Nigerian nation.

2. I wish to acknowledge the contributions of my predecessors, whose exemplary leadership has laid a solid foundation for the progress and achievements we have made thus far. In particular, I wish to pay special tribute to my immediate predecessor, Vice Admiral EI Ogalla, for his visionary leadership and commendable service. The foundation he has built and the strides made under his command provide a solid platform upon which we must now build. His legacy embodies humility and dedication to the ideals of the Nigerian Navy; we value and honour your service to our dear nation, Sir.

3. The Nigerian Navy has a standing legacy of protecting our nation's maritime domain, from the coastal waters to the deep blue expanse of the Gulf of Guinea. Our officers and ratings have consistently demonstrated courage, professionalism, and resilience. I salute every member of the Navy family for your service and sacrifice. However, I am not unaware that our maritime environment remains threatened by the scourge of crude oil theft, sea robbery, illegal bunkering, Illegal Unreported Unregulated fishing and drug trafficking. These crimes not only undermine our national economy and energy security, but also threaten the livelihoods of our coastal communities and the economic stability and prosperity of our dear nation.

4. To confront these challenges decisively, my tenure will be guided by a clear and actionable strategic approach focusing on strengthening maritime security and combating illegalities, enhancing the operational capability of our fleet through aggressive fleet renewal, use of technology, prioritising training and personnel welfare, as well as fostering inter-agency synergy, regional and international collaboration. Specifically, serious attention will be given to the imperatives of jointness with sister Services and close cooperation with relevant security agencies in the conduct of operations towards tackling the pervasive security threats confronting our dear nation.

5. To all officers, ratings, and civilian staff, the task ahead is demanding, but it is not insurmountable. I call on you to rededicate yourselves to the core values of our service, which are; Integrity, Professionalism, and Teamwork. I wish to reiterate that the Nigerian Navy under my watch will be a professional and accountable institution. We all know that the maritime domain is the lifeline of our economy, and the Nigerian Navy is fully committed to safeguarding it for national prosperity. We will work tirelessly to ensure that our waters are safe for legitimate commerce and the exploration of our blue economy. I demand the highest standards of discipline and moral conduct from every one of you. In return, I promise to lead from the front, to listen, and to ensure that your welfare remains top priority. The journey ahead is a collective one that requires cooperation and synergy with other security agencies and the unwavering commitment of every member of the Nigerian Navy. I am confident that with the support of the Commander-in-Chief and the solidarity of all Nigerians, we shall steer the Nigerian Navy towards a more glorious future.

Thank you, God bless us all and Onward Together!

PoliticsNigeria’s Sovereignty Must Be Respected – EU by AnonPoet(op): 6:46am On Nov 06, 2025
The European Union has reaffirmed its respect for Nigeria’s sovereignty, distancing itself from external pressures while pledging continued collaboration with the country in peacebuilding, interfaith dialogue, and human rights protection.

EU Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Gautier Mignot, stated this on Tuesday in Lagos during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, where he clarified the bloc’s position following US President Donald Trump’s recent remarks on Nigeria.

Mignot stressed that the EU’s stance is guided by its long-standing partnership with Nigeria rather than the views of other nations.

“Our position is one of solidarity with Nigeria – solidarity with victims of violence, with authorities working to protect citizens, and with the Nigerian people who overwhelmingly desire peaceful coexistence beyond ethnic and religious divides,” he said.

He affirmed that the EU and its member states fully respect Nigeria’s sovereignty and its constitutional commitment to religious neutrality.

According to him, the EU is ready to enhance its support in peace, security and defence matters, as well as through dialogue with all stakeholders, including civil society organisations and traditional and religious leaders.

Mignot said the EU would continue to implement several peacebuilding initiatives across the country to promote peaceful coexistence.

“We also support programmes on deradicalisation, demobilisation and reintegration of ex-members of non-state armed groups in the North-East,” he said.

He said the EU would remain committed to the protection of all communities, especially the minorities, with the freedom of religion and belief.

Mignot acknowledged that while Nigeria faces challenges in human rights and freedom of religion, its legal and institutional framework provides for fundamental freedoms.

“The situation is not perfect, as in any country, but there exists a constitutional basis for the protection of human rights.

“It is up to Nigerian authorities and society as a whole to uphold and strengthen this environment of peaceful coexistence,” he stated.

The ambassador stressed that the EU works closely with civil society organisations on projects promoting interfaith dialogue and good relations among religious communities.

He noted that the EU’s support is non-discriminatory, covering all victims of violence irrespective of the motives.

Mignot said the EU’s engagement with Nigeria remains steady and predictable, adding that the cooperation between both parties is not driven by what others do but by “shared interest in a stable, prosperous, and democratic Nigeria.”

Mignot disclosed that a peace, security and defence dialogue between Nigeria and the EU is expected soon as part of efforts to deepen strategic cooperation.

He emphasised that the EU’s guiding principle is to help Nigeria reinforce stability and prosperity and that the country’s future “lies firmly in the hands of Nigerians themselves.”

His remarks come after President Trump threatened possible action against Nigeria over alleged anti-Christian violence, urging the U.S. to cut off assistance to the country and designating Nigeria a “Country of Particular Concern” in a series of posts on social media.

SportsLiverpool Vs Real Madrid: Crisis Meets Revolution At Anfield by AnonPoet(op): 2:48pm On Nov 04, 2025
It doesn’t get bigger than this. Liverpool vs Real Madrid at Anfield, but this time, it’s chaos on one side and total control on the other.

Liverpool are wobbling badly, while Real Madrid are flying. Two clubs with history, but completely different moods heading into this one.

Liverpool’s Crisis: Two Wins in Eight
It’s gone from concern to full-on crisis talk at Anfield. The Premier League champions have lost six of their last eight games in all competitions, only managing wins against Frankfurt (5–1) and Aston Villa (2–0).
Arne Slot’s side look tired, fragile, and short on ideas. The defence has fallen apart, the midfield isn’t clicking, and injuries to key players have made things worse.
The media are already asking tough questions: did
Slot new system just not working?

Even Slot himself has admitted the results are “unacceptable.” The energy and belief that used to carry Liverpool through tough nights at Anfield just haven’t shown up lately.

Real Madrid’s Calm: Alonso’s Winning Machine
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are moving like they’re on autopilot. Xabi Alonso has come in and kept things simple, smart structure, clinical finishing, and a team that knows how to win.

They’ve taken 13 wins from their last 14 matches in all competitions, including victory in El Clásico. Mbappé is destroying defences for fun and already has five goals in this season’s Champions League.

The only small drama? Reports of a minor rift after Vinícius reacted badly to being subbed off in El Clásico. Probably nothing, but it’s Real Madrid, so the cameras will be watching.

Emotional Returns

Xabi Alonso returns to Anfield as a manager. Expect applause, nostalgia, all of that. But once the whistle goes, it’s business. On the other hand, Trent’s return will not be as pleasant, Might even get worse if he plays a key role.

For Slot, though, this is about survival. Lose this, and the questions about his future get louder.
Prediction

Can Liverpool summon that old Anfield magic, or are Madrid just too clinical right now?.

Our take? Real Madrid 3–1 Liverpool. However, if there’s one place you can never completely rule out madness, it’s a Champions League Night at Anfield.
Where to Watch

The showdown kicks off at 9:00 PM on SuperSport Football Plus HD (DStv Ch. 202). Also, don’t miss PSG vs Bayern Munich live on SuperSport Premier League (GOtv Ch. 65, DStv Ch. 203), both sides unbeaten in Europe so far, Harry Kane scoring for fun, and PSG fresh from a 7–2 demolition of Leverkusen. It’s first vs first, maybe a sneak preview of this season’s final.
What are your predictions, and is this the night the Slot era reaches its end?

Politics15% Import Tariff: Femi Otedola Praises President Tinubu by AnonPoet(op): 6:28am On Nov 04, 2025
I commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold and decisive step in implementing a 15 per cent import tariff on petrol and diesel. This policy represents a crucial move towards safeguarding local industries that have made substantial investments in domestic production and refining capacity.

For decades, Nigeria’s industrial base has suffered from the unchecked importation of cheaper and often substandard goods, a practice that crippled once-thriving sectors such as textiles, local vehicle assembly, and manufacturing. We cannot afford to allow history to repeat itself within the energy sector, particularly now that Nigeria possesses the capacity to meet its petrol and diesel requirements locally.

This tariff not only protects the billions of dollars already invested in refining infrastructure but also underscores the government’s commitment to driving industrialisation, creating employment, and building a sustainable energy future for our nation.

This policy will also help establish a stable and sustainable pricing regime, contributing to greater control of inflation and long-term economic stability.

President Tinubu’s ability to deploy policy as a catalyst for economic transformation is truly commendable.

His focus on empowering local producers and promoting value addition within Nigeria exemplifies the type of visionary leadership required to steer our nation towards realising its ambition of becoming a $1 trillion economy.

BusinessColeman Wires Launches Africa's Largest Fibre Optic Factory In Nigeria by AnonPoet(op): 4:27am On Oct 31, 2025
A New Nigeria is Emerging, and It Must Be Protected.

Nigeria is firmly on a path to shared prosperity, and every once in a while, a moment comes that reaffirms our collective progress. Yesterday in Sagamu,Ogun State we witnessed one of those moments during the formal launch of the largest fibre optic cable factory in Africa by @colemancablesNG, who were also celebrating 50 years of remarkable excellence in cable manufacturing.

You can only imagine my excitement at the launch of this new and impressive facility, considering our ongoing effort to deploy 90,000 kilometres of fibre optic network across Nigeria through Project BRIDGE. The establishment of a factory capable of manufacturing this critical component right here at home by a local company is a truly significant milestone and the timing could not be more perfect.

This factory will not only support the fibre needs of Project BRIDGE, but also serve as a continental hub, supplying similar infrastructure projects across Africa in the years to come.

My heartfelt congratulations to the Chairman, the CEO, and the entire management and staff of Coleman Cables for their vision and commitment to Nigeria’s industrial growth.

I also wish to specially recognise His Excellency, Prince @DapoAbiodunCON, the Executive Governor of Ogun State, for making the state one of the most attractive destinations for investors and industries in Nigeria.

And to His Excellency, President @officialABAT GCFR, I express deep appreciation for his visionary leadership, setting Nigeria the ambitious target of becoming a $1 trillion economy and backing it up with bold, deliberate reforms.

A new Nigeria is indeed emerging that is being built by those who believe in her potential, invest in her people, and produce proudly within her borders

PoliticsHow The Non-oil Export Sector Is Changing The Narrative Of The Nigerian Economy by AnonPoet(op): 4:55pm On Oct 30, 2025
THE NEW GOLD: How The Non-Oil Export Sector Is Changing The Narrative Of The Nigerian Economy by Chukwudi Iwuchukwu.

Nigeria earned $1.791 billion from non-oil exports in Q1 2025, marking a 24.75% year-on-year increase
Zenith Bank facilitated nearly 40% of total non-oil export transactions and processed over $6 billion in remittances in three years

Through seminars and training programs, Zenith Bank is nurturing a new generation of globally competitive Nigerian exporters

There comes a time in a nation’s story when the old engines of prosperity run out of steam. For Nigeria, that moment is now.

Crude oil, once the country’s lifeblood, no longer guarantees stability. Revenues are dwindling, global prices are unpredictable, and the cost of dependence has become unbearable. What lies ahead is uncertain, but one truth is clear: Nigeria must learn to earn beyond oil.

The Turning Point

Economists have long agreed that the silver bullet for Nigeria’s next growth phase lies in the non-oil sector, from agriculture to solid minerals, from processed foods to digital exports. These are the pillars of a diversified economy that can survive oil shocks and global recessions alike.

Encouragingly, the numbers are beginning to tell a new story.

In just the first quarter of 2025, Nigeria earned $1.791 billion from non-oil exports, a remarkable 24.75% increase from the same period in 2024. But behind these figures stands a quieter force, the financial architecture that powers it all.

And at the center of that architecture is Zenith Bank.

The Institution Behind the Movement

Over the past five years, Zenith Bank has emerged as the single largest financial enabler of Nigeria’s non-oil export ecosystem, commanding nearly 40% of total export transaction value in the sector.

Its influence cuts across the full spectrum of Nigeria’s non-oil exports, from solid minerals and agricultural produce to commodities, fertilizers, and processed foods.

Behind every major exporter, whether shipping cashew from Kogi, cocoa from Ondo, or lithium from Nasarawa, there’s a Zenith Bank account facilitating the trade, managing foreign remittances, and ensuring compliance with international financial standards.

The Engine of Dollar Inflows

In the last three years alone, Zenith Bank has processed over $6 billion in export remittances, establishing itself as the No. 1 Export-Remittance Bank in Nigeria.

This leadership is not coincidental; it is the result of decades of strategic investment in trade finance, risk management, and cross-border payment technology.

At a time when dollar scarcity continues to threaten macroeconomic stability, Zenith’s role has become indispensable. Every dollar remitted through Zenith isn’t just a corporate transaction; it is a contribution to the nation’s foreign exchange buffer, a breath of life for an economy under strain.

From Policy to Practice: The Export Seminar

Zenith’s commitment extends beyond finance into thought leadership.

Through its Annual Non-Oil Export Seminar, the bank brings together exporters, policymakers, and regulators to explore the dynamics of global trade, logistics, and value addition. These forums have become strategic incubators for new ideas, aligning Nigeria’s private sector ambitions with the realities of international markets.

Complementing this is the Zero-to-Hero Export Program, a mentorship and training platform that transforms ordinary Nigerians into globally competitive exporters. From understanding documentation to mastering logistics, Zenith Bank is not just funding exports; it is creating exporters.

A Future Built on Value, Not Volume

In an era where global trade is defined by efficiency, trust, and digital agility, Zenith Bank continues to set the benchmark. Its export operations combine deep financial expertise with cutting-edge digital solutions, ensuring that exporters experience speed, transparency, and global credibility at every stage of their journey.

But beyond the systems and seminars lies something more profound: a vision. A vision of a Nigeria that earns not by extraction, but by creation. A Nigeria whose strength is measured not by barrels sold, but by value produced.

Conclusion: The Zenith Standard

When the story of Nigeria’s economic transformation is told, it will remember those who looked beyond oil and saw opportunity in the ordinary.

Zenith Bank will stand among them, not just as a financial institution, but as a nation-building partner, an architect of a new economic order, and a living example of how strategic foresight can turn crisis into creation.

At this crossroads, while others are asking what the future holds, Zenith Bank is already helping Nigeria build it.

Politics3 Persons Lay Claim To ADC Chairmanship In Adamawa by AnonPoet(op): 5:58am On Oct 29, 2025

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjS3QFElZZM

The Adamawa State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has splintered into three rival factions, each claiming to hold the legitimate chairmanship of the party in the state.

The division has pitted loyalists of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir Lawal against those of Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani, while the incumbent chairman, Shehu Yohanna, insists he remains the substantive leader of the party.

Lawal’s bloc has endorsed Sadiq Dasin as chairman, while Binani’s group has thrown its weight behind Saidu Komsiri. Yohanna, however, maintains that he remains the duly recognised Adamawa ADC chairman.

Speaking with Daily Trust, Komsiri denied that the party had broken into factions, insisting that the situation had been exaggerated by the media.

"People think there are two leaderships of the ADC in Adamawa State, but that’s not true,” he said. “What we have are two structures left behind by the former exco, the Shehu Yohanna leadership and the Mustapha Arabi leadership, which the national working committee has since intervened in.”

Komsiri explained that the ADC national leadership set up committees across all state chapters, including Adamawa, to stabilise the party. These include a Transition Steering Committee, which serves an advisory role, and an Interim Caretaker Committee, responsible for the day-to-day administration of the party and for organising congresses ahead of 2026.

He alleged that some members of the steering committee were attempting to overstep their mandate and usurp the responsibilities of the caretaker committee.

“The grassroots stakeholders are against this because it breaches the party constitution. Each committee has its role, and none should act as judge, jury, and janitor at the same time,” Komsiri added.

However, Yohanna dismissed talk of factionalism, insisting that he remains the only recognised chairman of the party in Adamawa.

“What we have is a case between the mafia and the common man,” Yohanna said.

He accused some party elites of trying to hijack the structure by creating parallel committees and warned that such moves could destroy the ADC in the state.

Yohanna also addressed his earlier ultimatum to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, saying the PDP leader had not formally joined the ADC despite claims to the contrary.

“Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has not picked up a membership card of the ADC. He cannot dictate what happens in a party he has not joined,” Yohanna said, adding that while Atiku is regarded as a coalition partner, only Binani and former Governor Jibrilla Bindow are registered members in the state.

He insisted, “ADC is one, under Comrade Shehu Yohanna as the substantive chairman. The attempt to create factions is a struggle between the powerful and the ordinary members.”

However, the party’s National Assistant Organising Secretary and North East Zonal Organising Secretary, Umar Bello Jada, said Atiku’s recent support for the Sadiq Dasin-led Transition Committee does not invalidate the legitimacy of the Komsiri-led caretaker committee.

Jada explained that the transition committee was established nationwide to handle mediation and reconciliation, while the caretaker committee was constituted to manage the party’s operations at the state level until new congresses are held.

He emphasised that none of the transition committee members were sworn in as state executives and, therefore, cannot function as such.

Atiku had earlier congratulated Sadiq Dasin and Blaise Hungushi Osagie on their inauguration as chairman and secretary of the Adamawa State Transition Implementation Committee. The ceremony, held on October 25, was presided over by ADC North East National Vice Chairman Babachir Lawal.

In a social media post, Atiku expressed confidence that the committee would strengthen the ADC’s internal structure and foster unity among members, urging stakeholders to build a credible opposition capable of offering better governance in Adamawa and across Nigeria.

PoliticsCourt Freezes Bank Account Of Firm ‘linked’ To Atiku’s Son-In-Law, Bashir-haske by AnonPoet(op): 6:06am On Oct 23, 2025
A federal high court in Abuja has ordered the temporary freezing of a Fidelity Bank account belonging to Mars Aviation Limited over money laundering allegations connected to Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

Musa Liman, the presiding judge, granted the order following an ex parte motion filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The motion, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1299/2025, was filed on July 1 and moved by Geraldine Ofulue, the EFCC counsel.

Ofulue told the court that the account is under investigation in a case involving alleged criminal misappropriation and money laundering. She prayed the court to freeze the account pending the conclusion of the investigation.

Ruling on the motion, Liman held that the EFCC’s application had merit and accordingly granted the request. Although the order was made on September 22.

The EFCC had asked the court to empower its chairman, Ola Olukoyede, or any other authorised officer to direct the managing director of Fidelity Bank to freeze the account.

According to the motion, the account number 5250350283 (C03651082) is held by Mars Aviation Limited.

In an affidavit supporting the motion, Abdulganiyu Olayide, an EFCC investigator attached to the commission’s special duties committee, said his team was assigned to probe the matter.

Olayide said the investigation followed intelligence alleging that NNPCL had made several payments to Mars Aviation for purported contracts that were phoney and granted in default of the provisions of the Procurement Act.

He added that preliminary findings revealed that huge sums of money were paid into the company’s Fidelity Bank account by NNPCL in multiple instalments.

The EFCC official said freezing the account was necessary to preserve the funds and prevent any transactions while the investigation continues.

“That I make this affidavit in good faith, believing its contents to be true and correct and in accordance with the Oaths Act,” Olayide said.

There are reports that Mars Aviation Limited is allegedly owned by Abdullahi Bashir-Haske, the founder and group managing director of AA&R. Bashir-Haske is married to the daughter of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.

In August, Haske was placed on EFCC’s wanted list over allegations of criminal conspiracy and money laundering.

Also, TheCable earlier reported that Bashir Bayo Ojulari, group chief executive officer (GCEO) of the NNPCL, has been a subject of money laundering investigations following the alleged transfer of millions of dollars to the AA&R Investment Group’s account.
