Anyways, NCTC is a good start. Though its a 100% commuter campus, small town, nothing going on, but its cheaper for starters compared to HCCS. After a semester there, you should be able to decide to come out to Houston or anywhere else in the US.
Hey, if you need help with finding accomodation or mobility around town, I can introduce you to a couple of Nigerians to help out. Holla when you get here!
God Mother wont you find a Nigerian for me too in Boston for accommodation .. sad sad cheesy

Yvete: First, we should not expect reward from helping anyone. If you belive that there's a God, blessings will come to you somehow.

Like Kpolli said, not everybody deserves help. I advised a guy on this thread to trash his I-20s and start all over, but he ignored me. I'm not mad because he WILL be back here disappointed grin grin

Self-absorbed mothafu.c.kas like that guy on the canada thread piss me off! When he got his visa, everyone was congratulating him, he never showed up again. Fastforward to 2013, he's 'stuck' in the US and now he remembers the Canada thread complaining about the US. In sum, attitude says a lot about a person. I'm not surprised. They will always hit a roadblock in life anyways.

Most of the people that are active on this thread are still in Nigeria. Not asking questions, but helping out. Only one person sends out GRE materials when a bunch of people have it on their computers. It just crazy!

I knew you were hurt thats why I quoted you from December. You're very emotional, Imperiouxx smiley
i solidly concur...imperiouxx is emotional... grin grin grin

shope12: SOMEBODY SHOULD ANSWER MEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello forum,
i want to find out more details about document i need to take to the embassy as an F1 status and also i already have my affidavit of financial support but i still want to know if i need to notarise is at the notary republic or i should just leave it that way response from any body will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!!
Your question is not clear enuf. Do you already have the F1 visa or anticipating? If you have the F1 visa already then i dont know what you are talking about but If anticipating then these are the items you should go along with:

Your E-passport
Form i-20
2 by 2 passport photograph
Mrv receipt (one you paid at GT Bank)
DS-160
your Appointment confirmation printout
Sevis Receipt
Your Account Statement (personal or Sponsor)

Those are the default. You can add any other document/certificate according to the points you have to prove/show during conversation with the VO. Cheers

TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part3 by Anthonymighty(m):
Well I believe something can be done concerning the 8 yrs gap. I had similar issues during my visa seeking time too. I finished 2003 and I got my visa last year december. All you need do is to think of something tangeable and not just some computer school crap because they have heard it severally. In my own case I told the VO after I finished in 2003, I went a computer diploma course and worked with it before I went for my OND + IT which lasted for 3 years instead of 2 due to our bad educational system affected by strike and the likes. (U must show proves at this stage) and other certificates + voluntary work you can think off. Tell her to Just be smart and wise. And eliminate fear. Once you and the interviewer establish a good start and chat, he might end up not asking you for proves, once you tell him things to cover the gap. That's how I scaled thru. Cheers.

OjaP: Honestly, I don't even know what to say. Should we just assume the "cousin" have been playing for 8yrs and just think this is the best time to seek a degree, not even in Nigeria but in the US? He/she has no NCE, OND or HND? That 8yrs is more than enough for some brilliant chaps to get BS, MS and even PhD.

Smithjanetstore: Please tell us in details what your cousin has been doing from 2005-2013. I don't think any one here can help you come up with anything. We can only help in polishing it.

BTW, don't tell us your cousin went for computer training oooo..That one no dey sell again sir. Even at that, na for 8yrs the training go come be?

So, what do we do now Oga Smith?

Well I'll suggest you find time and do the exam here. In Nigeria. 2ndly, Are you asking if you can defer your admission if you get the visa? Well the answer is; whether u get visa or not, you can defer your admission but you should have it in mind that your admission is valid for just 1 year. So that means there's actually a number of time you can defer. I deferred my admission twice even after I got my visa. Cheers.

Gelatoman: Thanks bro..i work offshore hence reason for been so inaccessible. I'll work round it sha and if i couldnt....i might have to fluke it. if given visa, can i defer if i wish?

Gelatoman: Hello Guys. I must confess that this thread is priceless.

I need answer to this burden question:

I have an admission letter fro a Uni in USA. they said i can take my toefl when i come to US upon resumption. I have a visitors visa and i have traveled once to US and several times to UK.

My qstn is.....hope visa wont be difficult if they found out that i'll be writing the toefl on arrival?

Thanks.
Most schools will tell you they waive toefl or you can come do it when you arrive here just because most of them dont know what we face here before we get their Visa. Although the school has stated you can take toefl when you come into USA upon resumption but i'll advice you do that toefl here in Nigeria and go with it to embassy during interview and not to do it over there because you'll be asked for it atleast During your interview. and 2ndly... it will be stress free for you when you finally get to the school because you have already done it here. Its the same toefl everywhere no matter where it was done. Cheers.
