HOW TO PASS NOUN PEN ON PAPER [POP] EXAM 2017/18 WITHOUT STRESS

Good day everyone, this article is specially and immensely composed to serve as a benchmark for National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) students in 300L and above.

Precisely, in one of my previous articles, I made brief and concise introduction of Pen On Paper (POP) Examination.

Let us remind ourselves for the purpose of the write-up. POP is the type of exam written in NOUN (ODL) by students in year 3 (300L) and above and students in conventional universities (e.g UNILAG, LASU etc).

It can be described as a hand-written form of examination.

Now, let us hit the nail at the head: analysed below are facts worthy of noting in order to achieve incredible success in the forthcoming exam.

Happy Reading!

1. Work on composing essential notes on topics you think may manifest

2. Do not forget to browse the internet for more handy useful sources

3. Make a summary of your readings, jot down important points, and review your summaries days preceding the exam

4. Comprehend the format of the exam

5. Obtain a paper copy or soft copy of the exam timetable

6. Ensure you know your exam centre, matriculation number etc

7. Be punctual on the day of examination

8. Pack the stuffs you have to take along ahead of time eg Writing materials, Identity Card etc

9. Enter the exam hall in a gentle manner

10. Check assigned seat for hidden prohibited materials that may tarnish your image as a student

11. Calm down, avoid distraction and focus on your work

12. Concentrate on what you know and time yourself at composing answers

13. Remember to review or cross check your answers (eg units, figures, punctuation, etc) before finally submitting

14. Sign the attendance paper in and out!

15. Never underestimate the power of prayers and mind what you eat

_I wish you a successful and easy examination._

NOUN EXAM – TIPS FOR SUCCESS

Don’t be late to exam hall

Instructions, either verbal or written are part of exams, make sure you listen, read and understand all instructions and guidelines

If you don’t understand anything, ask the staff in charge.

If you believe in prayers, take few minutes to say it without calling attention or disturbing others.

For any reason, don’t panic or develop test anxiety. You need to be in a good state of mind during the exams

Be aware that people around you may be writing a different TYPE of the questions i.e their questions or and options may be a shuffled version of yours.

Don’t entertain distractions; stay focused on the task at hand.

NOUN E- Exams are spelling sensitive, boy is not same as boys, Lag is not Lagos. Make sure you spell correctly.

Be conscious of time; don’t waste too much time on any question. Answer questions you can tackle first and revisit other questions later.

Attempt questions by eliminating incorrect answers where necessary.

Don’t be in a hurry to leave the exam hall. If you have time, go through your work thoroughly. Review the answers as no one is above mistake. And if you still want to pray, do.
best of luck

EXAM TIPS

1. Be punctual: Try to be early at your exam centre, to avoid rush which will get you panicked and unnecessarily crowd the exams environment.

2. Be Polite: Once you get in the school premises and find something peculiar, contact the school authority, be polite, explain clearly what it is to who you meet. You should get a favourable answer. If not satisfied still, see your Study Centre Director or ICT Head

3. Be Civil / Obey Instructions/Do not loiter:Once in the school's premises, obey simple instructions, do not rush, push or curse anyone while on que, if there is civility amongst All, no one will be treated inhumanly. Again, you shouldn't be found around the school premises if it's not time for your exams. You might be judged for an impersonator and might be arrested.

4. Be calm: Do not allow the happening around you control your mind. The moment you loose your cool, that moment, you loose it all. You are bound to make errors

5. Call an attention: Once you log in and find any malfunction of your system, do not log out. Quickly call the attention of the ICT Staff in the hall. If needs be, request for another system and continue your exam

6. Be Fast:Attempt questions that you are sure of first. You might go back to those you are not afterwards. Your time starts counting once enrolled

7. Do not Disturb: It is a known fact that disturbance is against any examination, doing so not only agitates you, it creates tension and could be destructive to other people in the hall. Report any case of disturbance to any of the exam official.

8. Do not cause an uproar or instigate violence: Should anything go wrong that affects all, do not disturb the peace of the school. Students are advised to get together in their departments, get two reps. All nominated/volunteer departmental reps should meet the study centre Director for briefing. This briefing should be told the way it was to the waiting students.

9. Disperse Immediately: Once attended to or thru with your exams, leave the place/hall/school premises immediately. Do not cause any crowd.

We wish you all success

There is a number that chats with people on WhatsApp 07012474029. She asks for tma solution and says she hopes you aren't scam. She lies that she had been scammed twice and ask you to send tma answers to her before she can pay. She tells you her friends too want that if you are true they will flock you. She asks for your account details and says she will credit it once you send the answers. She blocks you after sending her the answers and never credit your account. Please beware of that number. She strolls this thread well. Be careful. Thieves everywhere.

PAST QUESTIONS (PQ); THE BEST BET TO WRITE AND PASS NOUN POP EXAM

What is a past question kiss A past question (PQ) according to wikipedia is an examination paper from a previous exam, usually used
either for exam practice or for tests.

As we all know that NOUN pop-exam has not been an easy exam but believe Me NOUN pop-exam is a walk in the park for some of Us., How is that possible?
One of the problem will do face is we dont know how NOUN pop-exam is been set, how it looks like, the PQ will let one be acquainted with how the questions is been set, coupled with been familiar with the likely questions, in NOUN pop-exam questions are fond of been repeated year in, year out.
A case study is *CHM 311* *questions like what is authocthonus? allochthonus, diagenesis, List and discus 3 stage of sediment evolution* this questons were all repeated in the year 2012,2013 and 2014 and some other question like that. So tell Me if they bring such questions for Me in the forthcoming exam won't I *murder the questions?* I will answer it with ease, no sweat and not eating the Biro base.

What You need to do? Get some PQ's from school library or contact me (08185025045), put ur material/Manual beside it and start checking each question and the solution from the manual/textbook, write out everything and take Your time to read it over and over again (midnight preferably) and the forthcoming pop-exam will be a WALK IN THE PARK for You.

Try that little work and:- eating of pen base, counting of ceiling, sleeping, peeping beside someone beside You will be a thing of the past. As the exam is just 10days away I wish everyone of Us success in our exam, and May We all come out in flying colours.

please what does TMA and POP stand for?
NOUN EXAMS UPDATE

It is high time we start preparing for the forth coming Pen On Paper (POP) exam and e-Exam for 2017/18 session.

As we all know, POP Exam is for students in 300 and Above, while e-Exam is for students in 100 and 200 Level irrespective of semester count.

e-Exam is the type of exam which comes in the form of OBJECTIVES and FILL IN THE GAP (German Questions). On the other hand, POP is an hand-written exam.

Conversely, most of the TMA questions you solved and submitted on the portal are expected to surface in the exam. Although there might be slight changes. For instance, e-Exam is usually more of TMA questions until previous semester when changes were applied.

I present to you, useful e-Exam tips aimed at boosting your CGPA and Academic Performance in general.

1. Ensure you correctly solve and submit 3/4 of your TMA

2. Make corrections should you score less than 10 marks per TMA section

3. Printout your TMAs to revise with the course materials

4. Throw unclear TMA questions into online forums

5. Ask a friend whom you think knows the answer

6. Mind the way TMA answers are structured (or spelt)

7. Effectively familiarize yourself with the course guides. Do not keep them at home until exam knocks...

8. Write summary of your readings

NB: E-EXAM is not an exam you are required to give thorough or brief explanation, rather specific answers are provided in case of fill in the gap.

As a result, noting and memorising has a prominent role to play!

Students with CGPA less than 1.0 shall be awarded no degree.
