ADVICE

If you haven't pay your fee of this current semester before the closure of both courses and exam registration but you are ready to pay, kindly visit your study centre to register your excuse(s) and also be guided on what to do next. You would be permitted to pay and also do your registration because of its flexible mode of operation.

Likely to be favoured most are 100L and 200L students.

Good luck.

Good evening all...

I will like to bring the following to your notice

Irrespective of who is handling your TMA pls try to check your scores yourself and see if all your loaded TMAs are done

Those doing it are human and are not perfect but if you check yourself you will be more careful and if there is any thing left contact them and inform them politely...

Do all necessary stuff done in your centre like getting your exam slip stamped if they have started in your centre, learn to navigate the portal so well so you can check yourself frequently, get your ID card if you haven't

Those doing P.O.P your exam starts soon so pls get prepared this is for 300 level and above. Past questions are available in PDF format you can chat me up but note its not free though, you can get it in your study centre for free if they give and you have time

Those in 100-200 your exam starts next month get all loaded TMAs and start revising with it

Yes some TMAs are not loaded yet That Won't stop them from examining you on the course but there is hope they will load this week

If you have registration issue rumour has it that portal might be open this week so get your money ready

And you can visit us for any NOUN related issue but note this does not stop us from still maintaining our cordial relationship with others as distance has never been a barrier with us

I wish you a good night rest and all the best in the forthcoming exam

NOUN EXAMS UPDATE

It is high time we start preparing for the forth coming Pen On Paper (POP) exam and e-Exam for 2017/18 session.

As we all know, POP Exam is for students in 300 and 400 Level, while e-Exam is for students in 100 and 200 Level irrespective of semester count.

e-Exam is the type of exam which comes in the form of *objectives* and *fill in the gap* (German Questions). On the other hand, POP is a hand-written exam.

Conversely, most of the TMA questions you solved and submitted on the portal are expected to surface in the exam. Although there might be slight changes. For instance, e-Exam is usually more of TMA questions until previous semester when changes were applied.

I present to you, useful e-Exam tips aimed at boosting your CGPA and Academic Performance in general.

1. Ensure you correctly solve and submit 3/4 of your TMA

2. Make corrections should you score less than 10 marks per TMA section

3. Printout your TMAs to revise with the course materials

4. Throw unclear TMA questions into online forums

5. Ask a friend whom you think knows the answer

6. Mind the way TMA answers are structured (or spelt)

7. Effectively familiarize yourself with the course guides. Do not keep them at home until exam knocks...

8. Write summary of your readings

NB: *e-Exam is not an exam you are required to give thorough or brief explanation, rather specific answers are provided in case of fill in the gap.*

*As a result, noting and memorising has a prominent role to play!*

*Students with CGPA less than 1.0 shall be awarded no degree.*

_For Enquires:_ *08185025045*

_Happy New Year!!!_

FROM THE VICE CHANCELLOR OF NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA

NEW YEAR MESSAGE FROM THE VICE CHANCELLOR

Dear Colleagues,
Compliments of the season and happy New Year 2018 to all staff of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
The year 2017 witnessed a lot of transformation and important milestones in our operations, amongst which were the hosting/co-hosting of conferences, public lectures, workshops, etc. The University Management has also put measures in place to ensure adequate training and re-training of all cadre of staff. In this regard, we have developed a more aggressive and proactive means of accessing TETFund funding for these activities. This is part of the robust welfare package of the Management to ensure that staff are adequately equipped and motivated to put in their best at all times.
At the national level, the Senate of the National Assembly took a bold step in the onerous task of reviewing the Act establishing the NOUN, to pave the way for our graduates to be accepted in the Nigerian Law School and the NYSC scheme, and also to grant greater recognition our certificates by other tertiary institutions and employers of labor.
Of particular importance is the almost monumental success of the University in securing NUC’s approval and accreditation for new and previously suspended programs. This has come to confirm the NOUN mantra that “NOUN is more NUC than the NUC…” Management shall not rest on its oars until all that is required to nurture and sustain regulatory approvals of all NOUN programs are identified, acquired, provided and deployed.
The year 2017 also witnessed the appointment of the first female Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) in the person of Prof. Joy Eyisi. More women were also appointed to important positions in the University as Directors of Academic Units and Study Centre Directors.
It is important to point out the robust advocacy quests of the various Study Centres across the country, which has helped to further popularize NOUN as an important public institution in the tertiary education sector. On this, Management commends the leadership and staff of all our Study Centres as well as the Directorate of Media and Publicity for their efforts and sacrifices in etching the NOUN brand in the minds of Nigerians. It is also in the spirit of advocacy that NOUN went all out to participate in the maiden Federal Education Sector Games (FEDUGAM) 2017 held in Lafia in which we overwhelmed all other educational institutions, confirming another of Management’s mantra: “NOUN is simply the best.”!
Let me also salute members of the University Management Team, Deans and Directors, Heads of Units and staff at all levels who have continued to show dedication to duty and put in their best to build the NOUN brand.
As the achievements-filled year 2017 draws to a close, we look forward to an even more promising and exciting 2018, starting with the 7th Convocation ceremony holding on 20th January, which would see the University graduating a record number of graduands including the His Excellency, Olusegun Obasanjo, a former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the pioneer Ph.D. student of the University. The second semester examinations for 2017 that could not hold as a result of disruption of our academic calendar would then follow. Management counts on all staff to put in their best, usual best and nothing but the best, bearing in mind the need to act responsively and ethically as public servants at all times.
Also in 2018, we look forward to the completion of new Faculty Building and the University Library, whose construction we hope will begin soon. Our target is to move the remaining Faculties to Abuja in or before August 2018. We are currently building a media center to house our Radio Station (Abuja service) as well as a Warehouse for Course materials. We are hopeful also that a construction of NOUN Press will also begin soon which when fully active will save the university the cost of commercially printing our Study Materials.
Management is also excited to introduce the NOUN Business School (NBS)—a collaboration between the University and the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation—which would commence operations at its proposed Learning Centre located at the Federal Treasury Academy, Orozo in the Federal Capital Territory before second quarter of 2018. This would usher in a new era of top-notch business and leadership education in the country.
In all, 2018 looks promising for the University and Management believes that with your cooperation, understanding and continued sacrifice NOUN will to blaze the trail and overcome all challenges and remaining the best ODL institution in Africa.
I wish you all and your families a wonderful New Year and God’s abundant blessings.
Yours truly
Abdalla Uba Adamu
Vice Chancellor

In preparation for the forth coming exam

Please if you have anything to still settle in your study centre do it first week in January

By second week they will start preparing for convocation and exam which may make them stop attending to students

What you need to do

Upload your passport if you haven't done that

Print out your exam slip and take it to the centre for it to stamped for exam cos it will be your means of identification, you will use for exam entrance

It mostly printed out in colour of three copies, this might be different from study centres though

In some centres you might be asked to attach passport which will be stamped

Please do all these first week in January before they get busy.

Have a lovely night rest

GOOD EVENING ALL

I don't think it early to start giving exam hint

To 100-200 level students you are doing e-exam that is a computer base exam

It comes in objectives and fill in the gap it used to be more of TMA until last semester which a lot of things changed

So this is my advice read as much as you can from your materials, get your tma well done, get the questions and the answers and revise with it, if you didn't get good grade in your tma try and look up for the correct answers

This is the time you can build your GP I had 4. Above during this period which I maintained till I finished

If possible get one or two friends for group reading it helps a lot

And mind the spellings and the answers to your Tma don't do I too know, spell the way it been spelt in your Tma and choose the answers that gave you your 10/10 not the one you so sure of this is a computer programmed exam so it what they program to the system that it will mark

Stay tuned for more as I stop here for today
