Things began happening. Thugs

Politics / Your Sins Are Unforgivable, IPOB Tells Buhari by Antimandatethie(m): 4:59pm On Apr 26, 2023

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has said President Muhammadu Buhari’s sins against Nigerians are unpardonable.

IPOB said this in a statement on Wednesday, to react to Buhari’s demand for forgiveness from Nigerians he had hurt during his reins.

In a statement released by IPOB spokesperson, Emma Powerful, the demand from the Buhari was a “disgraceful statement.”

The group also said if Buhari relocates to Niger Republic as he said, his atrocities will find him out.

“To us in IPOB, his (Buhari) sins are unpardonable, and we don’t care if he relocates to Mars or Jupiter instead of Niger Republic with his generation,” the statement read in parts.

“He still won’t be saved from his atrocities. His crimes will find him out by the time he finishes relocating.”

“How will the people of Benue, Plateau, Southern Kaduna, Yorubas, and many other indigenous nations in Nigeria who have been massacred by the Nigerian government imported terrorists from Sahel forgive him?” IPOB asked.

Politics / Senate President: APC Group Backs Musa Over Loyalty by Antimandatethie(m): 2:55pm On Apr 26, 2023
Members of the All Progressives Congress, South West Coalition, on Wednesday, endorsed Senator Sani Musa as its preferred candidate for the 10th Senate Presidency.

Stating the reasons for the group’s endorsement, the group Coordinator, Ade Ifeshile, stated that Musa was loyal to the party’s ideals and philosophies, and had “paid his dues in party politics.”

He added that Musa showed his loyalty to the party by stepping down from his ambition to be the national chairman of the APC in 2022.

Musa was one of the chairmanship aspirants of the APC in 2022.

Former governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Adamu, emerged as the party’s leader in March 2022.

Ifeshile, in a release on Wednesday, said, “The respected senator, who is the current Chairman of the Committee on Senate Services, exhibited his loyalty to the APC when he stepped down for the National Chairman of the party, Adamu Abdullahi, last year, in compliance with the party’s directives.

“It is also worthy of note that the distinguished senator had, over time, made a lot of sacrifices for the progress of the party since its formation.

“Despite being one of the major financiers of the party in Niger State, which is his home state, he had also sacrificed his senatorial ambition for the stability of the party in 2015 when the party was still at the nascent stage.

“The same sacrifice he made during the party convention in 2022 when he jettisoned his ambition to become the party’s National chairman.”

Ifeshile added that the group would support Musa’s candidacy by “writing special letters” detailing his leadership qualities, virtues and competence to all elected APC senators in the southwest region.”

Politics / May 29 Committee: Tinubu Inherited Igbo Hatred From Buhari – Ohanaeze by Antimandatethie(m): 1:52pm On Apr 26, 2023
Following the non-inclusion of Igbo in the committee set up by the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, for the May 29 handover activities, apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohaneze Ndigbo, said on Tuesday that Tinubu inherited Igbo hatred from the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.

The 14- member committee is expected to plan the presidential inauguration and it is made up of people from regions across the country.

However, going through the list, it was discovered that there was no Igbo person, a development that had generated reactions across political party lines in Igbo land.

Reacting on the development, the national vice president of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene, described the incoming president as a tribalist, adding that it was difficult for him to change his opinion about Igbo.

He said:

Igbophobia is in his veins and by not including Igbo people in the handover committee, he is only trying to reopen old wounds.

“He inherited the hatred Buhari has against Igbo, especially when the President-elect has said he will continue from where the incumbent president stopped.

“He said he will continue with Buhari policies and our question is, what is he continuing?

“Is it to continue the marginalisation of a particular ethnic group?

“Ohanaeze has not even accepted his election and whatever he is doing is personal to him.

What we know is that those who want to divide Nigeria will surely fail.

“Ohanaeze is not in a hurry to recognise Tinubu as the President-elect because any house built on a faulty foundation is bound to collapse.

“We believe that the process of the 2023 presidential election is still on.

“The voting has been done and the court has taken over and until the outcome of the court process is known, we cannot take a stand on the 2023 election.”

The Ohanaeze leader said it is unfortunate that Tinubu is toeing the path of disunity, adding that although some Igbo people may think they are on his side, there is a saying that an injury to one Igbo man is injury to all Igbo.

On the new leadership of Ohaneze, Okeke-Ogene said the Imeobi Ohaneze will meet on Sunday to take far-reaching decisions.

He added that the issue of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu emerging has not arisen because it is the Imeobi that will decide.

“For now, people can speculate on anything but Ohanaeze has a constitution and there are high expectations that things will work out well after the Imeobi meeting on Sunday,” he said.

Politics / Release Of Documents In Money Laundering Trial Of Usman, Fani-Kayode - Court by Antimandatethie(m): 5:43pm On Apr 25, 2023
A Federal High Court on Tuesday ordered the release of processes and documents in the money laundering trial of former Minister of State for Finance Nenadi Esther Usman and others to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The prosecutor, Mr Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, made an application before Justice Daniel Osiagor, to release all documentary evidence or processes in the suit, following the decision of an appellate court.

Usman is charged alongside former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode and Yusuf Danjuma, a former chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON).

Also charged is a company, Jointrust Dimentions Nigeria Ltd.

EFCC had preferred a 17-count charge bordering on N4.6 billion money laundering against them before a former judge, Justice Mohammed Aikawa.

The defendants had each pleaded not guilty to the charges and were granted bail.

The trial had begun before Justice Aikawa and witnesses were still being led in evidence, until Aikawa was transferred out of the Lagos division.

The charge was consequently, re-assigned to a new judge, Justice Daniel Osaigor, and they were consequently, re-arraigned on Jan. 24, 2022.

Again, the trial commenced in the case and witnesses were still giving evidence before the court.

However, following an appeal filed by Usman, seeking a transfer of the case on jurisdictional grounds, the court of appeal gave a ruling in favour of the defendant.

When the case was called on Tuesday, Oyedepo announced an appearance for the prosecution, and informed the court of the appellate court’s decision, directing that the case be transferred to the Abuja division of the court.

He also informed the court that it is still the case of the prosecution adding that the prosecution is still leading evidence as PW 1 was still testifying.

He, consequently, sought an application for the release of all documentary evidence and exhibits in the case to the prosecution, to save time and avoid delay.

In a short ruling, Justice Osiagor held that in line with the decision of the appellate court, all documentary evidence as well as exhibits tendered, should be released to the prosecution.

In the charge, the defendants were alleged to have committed the offences between January and March 2015 in Lagos.

They were alleged to have at various times unlawfully retained over N4.6 billion which they reasonably ought to have known formed part of the proceeds of unlawful acts of stealing and corruption.

Meanwhile, in counts 15 to 17 Fani-Kayode and one Olubode Oke, who is said to be at large, were alleged to have made cash payments of about N30 million, in excess of the amount allowed by law, without going through a financial institution.

The said payments were alleged to have been made to one Paste Poster Co (PPC) of No 125 Lewis St., Lagos, in excess of amounts allowed by law.

All offences were said to have contravened the provisions of sections 15 (3) (4), 16 (2) (b), and 16 (5) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) (Amendment) Act, 2012.
