I have a feeling that 'these people' think Amerika is like Heaven to us. For about 2 years now i've repeated if i'm offered a US or Austrian citizenship, i'll pick Austria before a blink. I might as well pick Germany, Netherlands, Finland, Sweden and Lithuania before US

Basically, most Nigerians are lazy to learn another language and that is why it appears only US, UK or Canada are the only options. If i knew learning new languages was fun since teen-age, i would have mastered 8 to 10 by now. With just about a year of casually learning German i'm conveniently at B2 and yes i'm in Lagos.

At this rate, if America was to become Heaven, the only place Nigerians would be able to go is Hell.

Ps: If you're a teen or early 20's in Nigeria, target to master at least 3 languages (aside English) by 25. Off the bat, i'd recommend Chinese, German, French, Russian and Spanish in that order.

You’ll pass through 5 Francophone and 1 Anglophone country.

🪙 Recommended plan:

Exchange ₦aira → CFA (XOF) before entering Benin.

> ₦300,000 ≈ 111,111 XOF (depending on rate).



In Ghana, change part into Ghana Cedis (GHS). (Make sure you have like 2 $50 bills with you, change 1 of the $50 bill to GHS, you'll get ₵555, then try and see how to move from there to Côte d'Ivoire

From Côte d’Ivoire → Guinea → Senegal → you’ll use CFA (XOF) again. (But in Guinea, try and see if the normal West African franc— XOF is being accepted there, if yes, proceed, if no, try and change any franc you have to GUINEAN FRANC, though their local currency is quite weak— no thanks to France 💀😂😂💔)


💡 Pro Tip:
Carry $100 bills for emergencies — widely accepted in border towns.
Avoid over-reliance on Naira once you cross into Benin.

I opened a new Bank account in May 2016, barely one week after opening the bank account, I collected the usual atm card with my balance reading N1,200 only. No one else had the details of the bank account except me so I wasnt expecting any deposit into the account.


The next day was a hot afternoon and I was having a nap all of a sudden my phone alerted me. I woke up and shockingly saw a credit alert of N237, 500 chei I screamed. I ran up quickly, I was confused on what to do for a few minutes. I thought who could have deposited such amount, no one came to mind because no one else had my new bank details.


I rushed out quickly wearing the back side of my shirt to the nearest ATM to withdraw the whole money chai I wont forget what Lagos traffic did to me that day. I was held in traffic for 16 minutes 39 seconds. As soon as I got off the traffic, I ran faster than Usain bolt to the ATM machine to withdraw the whole N237K.Immediately i slot in my ATM card, it was like someone was nearby watching to send another alert. To my surprise another alert came, i was excited with hope another N237K just entered. 


Immediately I picked up my phone opened it, it was a debit alert for N237, 500 . The Taxi man was already asking for his drop charge of N2000.I stood still and couldn't movefor two minutes, I couldn't even explain what had happened to people around me wondering what could have gone wrong.
