Ellon Musk and co are working hard to take food away from Nigerians as he continues to push out more of his powerful, energy saving, cost-effective electric powered cars while Nigerians are rejoicing about it.

The kind hardship that will hit Nigeria by 2040 when Tesla and other electric car makers, battery-powered homes, plus electric manufacturing process companies must have fine-tuned the process and brought the price down such that majority of middle class population of most European, American and Asian countries can afford it easily.......can only be imagined. By then, the Nigerian government will start taxing Nigerians for sleeping, waking up and eating......just to raise enough money for them to loot as usual when crude oil sales and price will become almost zero. By that time, every Nigerian family will have a banditry department that specializes in kidnapping people for ransom as a means of surviving the impending economic hardship, Let's wait and see shocked shocked
by then Biafra would have emerged and waxed stronger economically more than the zoo

No, banks are not in any problem. Bitcoin has terrible UX. Transaction charges are higher that what you would pay locally at your bank for transfers. Where it shines is in it's decentralization which makes it censorship-resistant -- nobody can block your account or stop you from sending money to anybody. The sad thing is not many people have use for that feature so Nigerian banks are safe, or would you keep your life's saving in BTC?

Guinea is located on the western coast of Africa formally known as French Guinea. The modern Guinea is sometimes called Guinea-Conakry to distinguish it from other countries with similar names like Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial-Guinea. The Republic of Guinea has a population of over 10 million people including thousands of refugees from the neighboring countries like Liberia and Sierra Leon. The population is made up of 24 ethnic groups with Conakry, the capital city, the most ethnically diverse town in Guinea. The majority of the population is Muslims at 85% of the population while about 7% identify with the indigenous religion.

Ethnic Groups Of Guinea (Conakry)

Fulani

Fulani is the most widespread Muslim ethnic group in Sahel and West Africa. In Guinea, the majority of the population, 41%, belong to the Fulani tribe and are mainly found in the Futa Djallon region. Fulani has their roots in the North Africa and is bound together by the Fula language, culture, and religious beliefs. Fulani people are mainly pastoralists making them the largest nomadic pastoralist community in the world. They are primarily sedentary farmers. They follow a code of behavior known as “pulaaku” which is characterized by patience, self-control, honesty, and respect. They have a rich musical culture accompanied by traditional instruments like drums, hoddu, and riiti. Kossam is a major delicacy among the Fulani community. The traditional Fulani people live in temporary dome-shaped houses called bukkaru supported by millet stalk pillars.

Mandinka

Mandinka ethnic group has a worldwide population of over 11 million while in Guinea, 33% of the population belongs to the Mandinka group. Mandinka belongs to the larger Mande people. The Mandinka originated from Mali and gained their independence from the empires in the 13th century. The Mandinka regions have a long history of the slave trade from the 14th century. The Mandinka territory was a major slave source for the Portuguese in the 16th and 18th century. Mandinkas are subsistence farmers who rely on millet, maize, and rice. Marriage among this community is arranged while the oldest male is considered the head of the family. The majority of Mandinka are Muslims while an insignificant number practices traditional African Religion. Villages are autonomous led by a chief. Kankaung is a rite of passage which marks beginning of adulthood. Female genital mutilation is also common among the Mandinkas.

Soussou

Soussou belongs to the Mande people living in Guinea. The Susu community is a patrilineal society which favors cross-cousin marriages. The Susu originated from the mountainous border between Mali and Guinea. 12% of the Guinean population belongs to Soussou ethnic group. They live in an extended family setting with polygyny an accepted practice in the society. Soussou is mainly Muslims with Islam dominating their culture and practices. They have a caste system referred to as “nyamakala.” They believe that the caste have their origin from the medieval slave era. Artisans, carpenters, musicians, and jewelers are in separate caste. Soussou is primarily farmers while women are palm oil makers.

Other Ethnic Groups In Guinea

Other ethnic groups making the population of Guinea include Kissi who accounts for 5% of the population and speak kissi language, the Kpelle who accounts for 5% which is also the largest ethnic group in Liberia, and the Toma. The non-Africans living in Guinea include the Europeans and the Lebanese.

Ethnic Groups Of Guinea (Conakry)

Rank Ethnic Group Share of Population in Guinea
1 Fulani 41%
2 Mandinka 33%
3 Soussou 12%
4 Kissi 5%
5 Kpelle 5%
Other Groups 4%

Investment / Nigeria: Cbn's Concern With Cryptocurrency In Order - IMF by AntiNigerian: 11:32am On Feb 21, 2021
Nigeria's resident representative of the lender says cryptocurrency is giving central banks globally headache.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) resident representative in Nigeria, Ari Aisen, has said the use of cryptocurrencies is a major concern to central banks in most countries not only in Nigeria alone.

The IMF official made this remark on Wednesday during a virtual briefing on the recently published 2020 Article IV IMF Staff Report for Nigeria.

He said central banks in most countries are greatly worried about the kind of activities cryptocurrencies are used to promote and how best such can be monitored.

Mr Aisen also stated that some cryptocurrency transactions could be used for money laundering and drug trafficking.

This aligns with the Central Bank of Nigeria's reasons for ordering the closure of all cryptocurrency related-accounts in the country.

The apex bank had on February 5 ordered Nigerian banks to close all cryptocurrency-related accounts. It also barred financial institutions from facilitating cryptocurrency payments in the country.

In another statement issued afterwards, the CBN explained why it banned cryptocurrency-related transactions in the country, claiming the digital currency is used for money laundering and terrorism.

The ban sparked controversies with fears that it might affect fintechs, and its rising potentials to the Nigerian economy might be lost because Nigeria is the world's second-biggest user of virtual currencies like bitcoins.

Mr Aisen said many central banks around the world have taken similar policy decisions as the CBN.

"The issue with some of the cryptocurrencies is that perhaps some care should be taken about their activities. The use of cryptocurrencies is a concern," he said.

The official said that is why some central banks, not only in Nigeria, have these concerns about what kind of the activities these crypto currencies are put into and how best to monitor those activities.

"Some of them may be illegal activities and may be related to money laundering, even drugs or other illegal things. It is natural that the monetary authorities will be concerned about how best to supervise and increase their oversight regarding the use of crypto currencies," he said.

Mr Aisen said the CBN is thinking closely about its trade-offs and is trying to design the best policy in the interest of the payment system and the sustainability of the financial sector.

The IMF official called for the "unification of foreign exchange rates," so as to make the management of foreign exchanges (forex) more transparent.

Speaking about forex scarcity, Mr Aisen explained that "there has been some level of scarcity of foreign exchange out there and it would be useful to unify rates to allow it fluctuate and to make forex more accessible to those who needed them".

However, he stated that the Nigeria's Debt or Gross Domestic Product (GDP) ratio has not reached a level of overt concern.

However, he urged the government to ensure that debt and GDP ratios are not allowed to reach a level that would make it unsustainable.

"It is important to manage borrowed funds properly for the economic benefits of the nation," he said.

Romance / Re: My Brother And The Wife Had Sex In My Room, Why Won't She Wash The Sheets? by AntiNigerian: 9:48pm On Feb 15, 2021
Gang90:
So guys it valentine's day, I'm really disgusted, okay I stay in my brothers house, I travelled, I came back around 2:30 I wanted to enter my room but my brother told me wait a while, with my adult mind, I realised they having some couple time, I dropped my bag in the living room and head out.

But I came back to find out the room is scattered and the bedsheet there, a responsible woman should at least wash the bed sheet noting that a grown up Male stays there.

I will be 26 this year, I had not really had sex so all these things imagining a strange woman's bodily fluids in my bedsheet is disgusting. I can take it from the side of my brother but not the wife, she disgusts me honestly, she is not my girlfriend, not my sister, not my wife, not my mother why should she expect I wash her after sex sheets for her or why can't she just pick the sheet immediately and wash it, it could have dried by now. And it really feel awful for me if I try to wash it, honestly.

This is about to be the worst valentine's day for me, I'm planning to head out and rent a room in hotel but who knows most hotel rooms will be disgusting today, what do I do please advice.

I'm hating knowing already, cause if I didn't know it could all not be so dirty to me, now my bed looks so dirty to me and I can't attempt to wash it until at least 24 hours and I will wash it soaked in hot water, I hate nonses just cause my brothers accepts you does not mean everyone in the family sees you as one flesh.
my guy go and burn that bed sheet that was used. That's what i did when I had sex with a virgin without even knowing

Crypto's popularity or it's ability to survive regardless of CBN's monetary policies is not the problem and it shouldn't be your main concern, that's irrelevant, what you should be worried about is what it's doing to you at the end of the day.

I've read all the shortsighted complaints, abuse and insults against the FG, but this is very synonymous with Nigerians, the government is always the enemy and we must attack and discredit the government and governmental policies put in place to help and protect us and the general economy.

Of what use and benefit is you having the highest rate of P2P in the world to the economy after denying the economy general monetary circulation, denying traditional banks the capacity to deposits and dispense loans for businesses, industries, imports, mortgages and so on.?

Of what use and benefit is you having the highest rate of P2P in the world when it comes to denying funds terrorists use to terrorize and kill you?

Of what use and benefit is you having the highest rate of P2P in the world when it comes to money laundering, human trafficking.?

Of what use and benefit is you having the highest rate of P2P in the world after setting up a side and unregulated monetary system that the general economy doesn't benefit from?

Less money within the traditional banking system means layoffs, dark money, criminal haven and activities.

Instead of thinking about yourself and your P2P, think about your own country and it's economic survival.

Why are you avoiding the banking system? Why? What are you hiding?

Sometimes the government is not the enemy, we are.
banks will kill you with charges and too much "double spending" . Naira on the other hand is too volatile and beginning to crumble to its knees. Not too log from now, dollar will beat naira black and red to the extent $1=N700. Just watch and se. CBN had forgotten there's something called USDT? Have they forgotten? Who needs their fucking dollars anyways? We will survive this. This is just an improvishment scheme against us because they are angry that very few persons now save with the bank. Crypto currencies are HIGHLY resistant to hyper inflation unlike Fiat. Good luck making 200% gain from banking when someone can just soak their earnings in crypto. It worked for me, bought BTC at 70k 2015 and ETH last year and now, you know the rest

What people like you don't know is the market is fluid and just like water, it must find its level or its way.

Patriotism doesn't build an economy or market. Policies and approach to business does. All you wrote is just hogwash. I apologize.

How many ordinary people trading on the stock market have made a profit? Matter if fact, stocks we bought since 2007 have not even yielded their capital because of the scam and in-trading going on in the NSE.

You treat people like shlt, they flourish and you're trying to stifle them? It won't even work.

You also raised a point about keeping your money in the bank so they can round trip, and "boost the economy" Lol.

These banks make money off you, while you remain poor; this is not putting hyper inflation which has come to be today into consideration.

An example is this. Sometimes in 2020, I ran about ₦30M through my account. Do you know for the months my funds were there, FCMB were stealing from me? Yes literally stealing because the arbitrary charges they were collecting weren't even reflecting in my account statement and they didn’t even send notifications for them.

In all, the CBN made a wrong call and they will lose more because

1. THEY CAN'T BAN BITCOINS.

2. Nigeria was just beginning to be a global hub for fintech. That's gone now.

3. Jobs will be affected and you know the funny thing, this does not even affect the peer to peer bitcoin exchange industry in Nigeria. It's the exchanges who were creating jobs this policy affects not bitcoins per se.

Also if history has thought them nothing, they should know Nigerian youths are very good innovators and this is just a speck of stone thrown at a behemoth wall. I currently have over 1,000 BTC in my wallet as we speak and I'm not even moved one bit!
you have over 1k BTC in your wallet.. did you buy BTC around 2010-2011?

Atiku is just chasing clout... CBN took the best decision.

Unregulated Crypto currency is a lazy investment that tilts more on outflow of FX rather than inflow.. it is death sentence to import dominated countries.

E.g- I buy bitcoin with N10m that would be domiciled in source Nation(not Nigeria).. if it rises in 1 year by maybe 10%, I may have gained 1m as an individual, but I have starved my country economy of recycling my 10m if it was domiciled in a Nigerian bank or invested into the society which could have produced more than 10% while creating jobs.. note as an import dominated nation, the chance of loosing that 1m as another escaped forex is 95% on foreign goods while 5% I may spend on local food.

The Nigerian greed for small margins has blinded a lot of people, imagine Crypto currency trading far beyond your indigenous Stock exchange and some feel it's okay

Modified:
With all the mentions and insults, if we put this same energy into investing in Nigeria, would we be complaining of unemployment?... someone actually said he has over 1,000btc in his wallet, that's about $35m or N16.450bn just waiting to flip currency and make small margin rather than real investment that creates jobs for the economy, but we are quick to say no jobs.
