Technology MarketPhysical Or Online Shopping: Which Is Cheaper? by Anuoluwap(op): 11:19am On Jun 18, 2021
Good day Nairalanders,

I saw this topic on Jiji official Facebook page.
It drew little attention but it has been a concern for me ever since I've started shopping online cause by my observations from my experiences, online shopping does it for me most of the time.

Although, when we consider all factors it's not an easy one to answer.

What are your thoughts?

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Lady Loses Job To 'Who Gave You My Number?' Question On WhatsApp by Anuoluwap(m): 8:50pm On Nov 29, 2020

Patience is not the issue.

The lady is rude and ill -mannered.

Telephone screening interviews are part or standard recruitment. I wouldn't progress her either.

Yes, patience was not the issue. It's her manners.
I only used patience as an example.
Yes, telephone screening is standard.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Lady Loses Job To 'Who Gave You My Number?' Question On WhatsApp by Anuoluwap(m): 11:20pm On Nov 28, 2020
Jashub:
Her response is rude, yes. But you should also know that under the circumstances, different people would behave differently. Which is why (from my own opinion) the company should have briefed her on the method they would use to contact her.
Sir,
I've been following your comments. You said you are also an employer. Thank God for that. I think you should know how hr processes has evolved over the past few years. It's now more of the 'human'.
HRs now think outside the box to land their best applicants. And one difficult thing is that they see a lot if academically qualified and experienced candidates. Here comes the behavioural screening to help them out of this difficult selection process.
So the standard is the standard and it's still the standard.
In this case, the company has zero fault sir. Organisations in the public sectors usually make use of a structured pattern of recruitment cause of the large numbers of applicants (that's why you see most of those public sectors workers are lazy and sometimes have attitude problems)
But organisations in the private sectors are not only enticed by the qualifications but who you can be when handling the job because they are customer-oriented unlike the public sector. Hence the freedom for private sector HRs in their recruitment process so as to get the best out of their input.
Behavioural screening is a standard sir. A company may invite applicants for interview just to test their patience.
The lady lacks courtesy and moreover she should have learnt about the company she applied into. When she applied into a tech company, what was she expecting? If I applied to a company that is technology inclined then I should expect a faster way of communication.
Most companies have WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
This could have been a behavioural/attitude test, and you don't expect the company to inform you before testing you.
I know you are not in support of her reaction but we still have to call a spade a spade sir.

You said the company should have informed her the mode of communication. Sir, "we will contact you" is enough for the wise.

It's her fault. No matter the mood she was in, wisdom should have told her to change her manner of communication once she saw it was a stranger. After confirming the intention and the person then she can switch her chatting manner.
May God help us.

Hello there,
I'm Anuoluwapo Peters, been on job search for 3 months now. Got invitation for aptitude test at AYE and Access bank respectively. Both didn't work out. Did aptitude tests online twice for a placement, well, same sad story.
Through this attempts I got to know about GMAT questions. They can be tricky, don't think you know the answer, best it to find the answer to most of them. In essence, you can outsmart those questions just be calm and think before answering them. I got better by time after severally attempting the test.
Well, for my career, I focus on HR/Administrative roles. My dream is to be a Top class HR manager in the nearest future.
I stay in Ogun, but most of the offers I apply for are in Lagos. I notice HR managers would prefer those in Lagos and to lie about my address would be unprofessional and unethical. That's my major concern for now. I'm so optimistic, someone out there is meant to help my career. I believe!

An interview is supposed to act as an avenue to sell your skills and expertise to the hiring manager. It is also an avenue to ask relevant questions to the interviewer.

Interview Questions you should ask during the interview

more like if... It rearly does, nysc dsnt contact the hospitals. Unless they decide to start now, but I doubt that's feasible.
it might be ok if the person is actually not having any real medical issue that could call for attention during the camping days...cos that's when it becomes important for them to contact the health institution on the fitness cert.
