Story Of Shina Rambo The Most Notorious Armed Robber In Nigeria’s History – What He Did For Power Will Shock You Shina Rambo is a former bandit who terrorised South-West Nigeria in the 1990s. After serving jail-time for his crimes, he was converted by an evangelist and became a Christian evangelical pastor. Shina Rambo now Mathew Oluwanifemi was a name that sent shivers down the spine of people who lived in the South West of Nigeria and even outside Nigeria, like Benin Republic and neighborhood, in the 1990s. He was a hardened criminal, a terror and killer, one whom men of the security agencies will never forget in a haste. A man mountain, towering about 6 ft 5inch, well built, dark skinned and sweltering eyes, he carried out his operations, like a movie, in the broad day light, with sophisticated weapons, and bullet belts and explosives strapped roundabout him. He specialized in robbing exotic cars on highways and robbing banks. Nothing could stop him, not even security operatives, he was totally invincible. He was Shina Rambo! BIOGRAPHY He was born in the year 1958 to a military man who was a bad egg in the service. His father was from Abeokuta in Ogun state, but his mother was a native of Sabongida–Ora in Edo state. His father had over 18 wives, as was the norm for soldiers to impregnate virtually every woman they met where they were posted to. His father used his military influence to rob innocent citizens, and always brought huge amount of money home. This used to entice little Shina. He recalls, “I remembered when I was about 7 years old, my father came home with a lot of money, foreign currencies, with blood on it, and they were using something like a woman’s scarf to wipe it, then I asked him, is this an animal’s blood, or human blood? But he wouldn’t answer me, they were just drinking, smoking, and merry making. HOW IT ALL STARTED ”Shina was already indoctrinated into the underworld by his father at a tender age of 7 without him knowing it, as he would sit in front of his son, to dismantle and assemble all sorts of weapons and then polishing them in preparation for an operation. This went on for so long till one day, little Shina, entered into his father’s room while he had stepped into the toilet, and saw a dismembered gun on the floor. He sat down in front of it, and bit by bit, he had assembled it effortlessly in no time at all. His father came out of the toilet, and saw his son, with a loaded gun in his hands. Shina flashed back and said, “That day my father was so disappointed, that he wanted to kill me, he grabbed the gun from my hand and shot straight at me, but I miraculously escaped out of the room. Then he waited for me to be less alert at night he came to my room with a machete and tried to behead me, but once again, I escaped, but the machete caught my left leg (he rolled up his trouser to show us the large scar, that made everyone sighed in pity). It cut me so deep I thought I was never going to walk again. That day I knew I had graduated, all that was left was to pull the trigger, and I was so eager. Tony Okafor, Awka The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra on Wednesday said the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu would have waged another war against the country should he be alive over the continued detention of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu. The MASSOB leader, Uchenna Madu stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in Awka, Anambra state. The MASSOB leader, Uchenna Madu stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in Awka, Anambra state. He blamed the Nnia Nwodo-led Ohanaeze Ndigbo for not finding time to visit Kanu in prison. Madu wondered what had kept Nwodo and other Igbo leaders from visiting Kanu even when it had become visible that they had been gallivanting about, paying solidarity visits to those who did not deserve such courtesies. His statement read in part , “If truly these men in Ohaneze Ndigbo leadership love our people knowing fully well that 90 percent of Ndigbo prefers Biafra to staying in Nigeria, what has kept Chief Nnia Nwodo, his executive and Ime Obi from visiting or showing solidarity to Nnamdi Kanu, the most loved Igbo man today? “What has been keeping the leadership of Ndi Eze in Igbo land from visiting Nnamdi Kanu in prison or his father, a fellow member of the southeast traditional council? “ Why is it that Igbo National Assembly caucus has never shown any sign of affection to the travails of Nnamdi Kanu and others?” The group which said it was missing the father figure of the late Ojukwu, asked the Nwodo leadership of Ohanaeze to emulate the likes of late Senators Uche Chukwumerije, Ikechukwu Obiora, Enyinnaya Abaribe, Joy Emodi, Annie Okonkwo who would “storm the court in solidarity during my detention, Uwazuruike and others. He added that “During my three years, six months and two weeks detention in Suleja, Keffi and Kuje prisons from 2006 to 2009, Senator Uche Chukwumerije and others severally visited me and others in prison. It added,“What is still holding the Southeast CAN and other Religious leaders from showing solidarity to our brother, Nnamdi Kanu and others in prisons. “If Gov Fayose of Ekiti state were to be Igbo, he would have visited Nnamdi Kanu in prison, if Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu is still alive, he would have fought for the release of Nnamdi Kanu.” source: http://punchng.com/ojukwu-would-have-gone-to-war-over-kanus-detention-massob/ |

Welcome PDP youths to the league of comedians as rightly said by adesina that fayose is a comic relief to FG |
Ado-Ekiti-The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayo Fayose continued his verbal onslaught against former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Monday, as he demanded immediate return of his N10 million donation to his library project with interest. Fayose, who described the library project as one of the greatest fraud ever, said the 30 governors under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were compelled to donate N10m each in 2005 to the multibillion naira project. The was just as the PDP Southwest caucus passed a confidence of vote in the leadership of the Ahmed Makarfi-led caretaker committee, branding the Ali Modu Sheriff group as mere usurpers of the party’s structure. Fayose and Obasanjo Speaking in Ado Ekiti on Monday at the opening of the PDP Southwest stakeholders’ meeting, he advised the former President Obasanjo to stop seeing himself as a saint. Fayose, who visibly expressed his anger against some leaders of the party for refusing to speak up against political persecution of some members of the party by the All Progressive Congress led Federal government, said they should not be afraid to speak against tyranny and any form of oppression. Urging members to remain bold and undaunted in the face of perceived intimidation by gents of the All Progressives Congress (APC) , Fayose predicted that God will soon move against those that are oppressing the PDP members in the country by declaring their seats vacant. Present at the meeting are: Host governor, Mr. Fayose, his deputy, Dr Kolapo Olusola, former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Gbenga Daniels, Senator Iyiola Omisore, former PDP Deputy Chairman, Chief Bode George, former PDP National Vice Chairman, Mr Tajudeen Oladipo, PDP Spokesperson, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, a member of the House of Representative from Ogun, Hon Oladipupo Adebutu, Chief Ebenezer Babatope, Prof Olu Agbi. Others are: PDP Chairmen in Ogun, Chief Sikirudeen Ogundele, Ondo, Clement Faboyede, Ekiti, Chief Gboyega Oguntuase, Oyo, Hon Muraina Ajibola, Lagos, Mr Moshood Salvador, Osun, Mr Bayo Faforiji, Chief Mrs Kofoworola Bucknor, Chief Paul Alabi, among others. According to Fayose “We were compelled to make the donation as PDP governors in 2005 and now I need the return of my money with interest”, he said. The Governor, who described the Sheriff’s faction as ‘moles’ and ‘political kidnappers’ within the party, added that “Yes, they are kidnappers , because when you took what does not belong to you, then you are a kidnapper. To me, I stand with Makarfi, because the judiciary has no reason to appoint the chairman and executive members for party owners. “How can you call yourself the leader of a party and be working for the opposition. Sheriff and his group will fail in their devilish plot against our party. We, the committed members of this party will not allow this evil to work, because charlatans can’t be allowed to hijack our party. “To me, the PDP is one under Ahmed Makarfi. I want you to be speaking out against President Muhammadu Buhari’s government , nobody can kill you. The tough time we are passing through is just a phase as tough time never last but tough people do. “They said the PDP people are corrupt, but if you look critically, the PDP are mere petty thieves while APC members are super robbers. They are only interested in destroying and oppressing our members while the people groan in sufferings. Today, the country is under emergency situation. “They said we should use political means to settle our differences, let me say that even if we reconcile there are some people I can’t be in the same party with . They are dirty and people like us can’t associate with them”. Fayose boasted that he will concede victory to the APC in the next year’s election if the opposition wins ten out of the 177 wards in the state. “I am even ready to concede defeat if they win only one local government. No matter what they do, we are on ground and we are winning 16-0 again, because we have the people behind us”, he boasted. In the communiqué read by the Ekiti State Deputy governor after the meeting, the party passed confidence vote in Makarfi leadership and also declared support for the party’s appeal against the judgement of the Appeal Court, which validated the Sheriff-led the Executive. The party also reposed confidence in the leadership of Fayose as the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ forum and the Eddy Olafeso-led south west leadership. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Al Hussein, has reiterated his call for the abolition of death penalty saying its subjecting convicts to mental anguish constitutes human rights violations. Zeid made the call on Wednesday at the opening of the biennial high-level panel discussion on the death penalty, which was organized as part of the Human Rights Council’s session for 2017. He explained that capital punishment raised serious issues in relation to the dignity and rights of all human beings, including the right to life and the right not to be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment. “International and national bodies have determined that several methods of execution are likely to violate the prohibition of torture because of the pain and suffering they are likely to inflict on the convicted person. “Studies of the severe pain and suffering caused by other methods has continued to extend this list, to the point where it has become increasingly difficult for a State to impose the death penalty without violating international human rights law,” Zeid said. He pointed out the long and highly stressful period that most individuals endure while waiting on death row for years, or even decades, and frequently in isolation, for an uncertain outcome. According to him, such situation has also been referenced as constituting torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment. “This ‘death row phenomenon’ has been recognized by the UN Human Rights Committee and other bodies at the international, regional and domestic levels, as well as by the California Supreme Court. “When the authorities fail to give adequate information about the timing of executions, they keep not only the convicted person but also his children and other family members in permanent anticipation of imminent death, he explained. “The severe mental and physical suffering which are inflicted by capital punishment on the person concerned and family members should now be added to the weight of the argument. “This is another reason why the death penalty should be abolished, besides its capricious and often discriminatory application and its failure to demonstrate any deterrent effect beyond that of other punishments.” The UN rights chief recalled that a former Special Rapporteur had recommended that the Human Rights Council request a comprehensive legal study regarding the emergence of a customary norm according to which the death penalty constitutes torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. Zeid said it has been 10 years since the UN General Assembly resolution of December 2007, which urged States to adopt a moratorium on the use of the death penalty, with a view towards its full abolition. The UN rights chief said over this decade, the global trend against capital punishment has become increasingly strong, with almost three out of four countries now having either abolished it or stopped practicing it. “However, the overall number of executions in States that continue to resort to the death penalty has increased in the last two years, and some States in which a moratorium had been in place for many years have recently resumed executions. “I take this opportunity, once again to urge all States to end use of the death penalty,” Zeid said.
