It's hypocritical to blame the bandits for unrest in the north while you people put the blame on the police but fail to call out those responsible for unrest in the east.
The air component of Operation Whirl Punch has reported to the Kaduna State Government that several missions were conducted at various locations of interest in frontline areas.
According to the reports, following credible intelligence of bandits gathering around Ukambo, Chikun LGA, air platforms targeted the location and struck it successfully. Similarly, the hideouts of bandits identified as Alhaji Ishiaka (in Igabi LGA) and Dan Rani (in Birnin Gwari LGA) were targeted and destroyed with rockets.
Furthermore, terrorist camps in Janbirni as well as Takaura, Kuyanbana forest, Birnin Gwari LGA were targeted and destroyed.
The Kaduna State Government was also informed that ten kidnapped citizens have escaped from a bandit camp following armed reconnaissance conducted over Damari Forest in Birnin Gwari LGA.
Four escaped victims, originally from Damari, have been identified as follows:
The other six escaped citizens were identified as: - Malam Alawiya - Maimuna - Adama - Garba - Ahmad and - Luka.
The six were visiting Damari from a neighbouring state when they were kidnapped. All ten citizens have since been reunited with their families.
In another development, troops of Operation Forest Sanity conducted fighting patrols along the Gyam-Kuriga-Manini-Udawa-Buruku road in Birnin Gwari LGA.
Contact was made with bandits around Labi Gyam. After a 25-minute exchange, the bandits withdrew from the area. The troops dislodged the camp and recovered one AK47 rifle, seven motorcycles, nine rounds of ammunition and one Baofeng radio charger.
Ground and air patrols will continue in these areas.

A former Local Government chairman in Benue State was reportedly attacked by thugs after showing up at Governor Samuel Ortom’s senatorial campaign rally wearing Atiku Abubakar’s t-shirt.
The former Ushongu Local Government Area Chairman, Asawa Joe, lost consciousness and was rushed to the hospital after political thugs descended on him for wearing Atiku’s t-shirt.
A source at the scene of the incident stated that Asawa was attacked alongside other People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidates’ supporters at the rally.
The source further stated that the attack was carried out on the orders of the governor, who has been in disagreement with the PDP national leadership.
Asawa took to his Facebook page to share photos of himself lying on the hospital bed while stating that he had just regained consciousness.
NDLEA arrests wanted Abia drug kingpin, declares another wanted
. Seals hotels, mansions, bank accounts linked to them, recovers exotic vehicles
One of two brothers who serve as major sources of illicit drug supplies in South East and South South parts of the country, Onyeaghalachi Stephen Nwagwugwu, has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA after nine years of being on his trail. The elder brother, Eze Kaleb Stephen, who is also wanted, narrowly escaped during the overnight operation carried out simultaneously in their two locations: Umuahia and Ntigha Okpuola community in Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Abia state.
Investigations show the two notorious brothers began a career in the illicit drug business since the late 90s when they started as pocket dealers before they later established smoking joints/bunks in their community, Ntigha Okpuola and subsequently grew to become barons; owning Hotels, Houses in choice areas of Abia, Rivers and Imo State, with exotic cars in their homes.
The NDLEA has been on their trail sine 2013 when they organized a mob attack on some of the Agency's operatives who attempted to apprehend them during a raid. At least, one of the officers attacked then is still bedridden till date. The two drug lords equally own armed militia guarding their houses and drug stores, where they deal in assorted illicit substances like Cocaine, Heroin, Methamphetamine (Mpuru-miri), Loud/Arizona and all sorts.
Fresh bid to bring the duo to book and end their criminal trade was launched four months ago, leading to a simultaneous raid operation on their locations on Saturday 26th November 2022. While the younger brother, Onyeaghalachi Stephen Nwagwugwu, who lives in Umuahia, the Abia state capital was successfully arrested, the elder brother, Eze Kaleb Stephen, narrowly escaped when his Ntigha Okpuola community home was stormed by operatives backed by men of the Nigerian Army. In the course of the operation, one of their militiamen, Eberechi Kingsley Monday was also arrested.
During the raid, quantities of cocaine and variants of cannabis were recovered from the two houses while the Agency has so far sealed two hotels, one eatery, two mansions linked to them and recovered three exotic vehicles from their homes as efforts are ongoing to trace more of their bank accounts and properties.
The identified hotels include: Jahlove Hotel, Mbawsi, Isiala Ngwa North LGA; Noicyhl Luxury Hotel, Aba -Port-Harcourt expressway, Aba and Royal Cruise Fast Food, Enugu- Port Harcourt expressway, Isiala Ngwa North LGA, all in Abia State.
Reacting to the development, Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), CON, OFR, commended the officers and men of the Agency involved in the operation as well as men of the military who supported them for their professionalism. He said it is in the interest of the fleeing baron to turn himself in before the Agency smoke him out because there would be no hiding place for him.

Troops of Operation Forest Sanity rescued nine kidnapped persons during fighting patrols to suspected bandit hideouts in Kaso, Chikun LGA.
According to operational feedback to the Kaduna State Government, the troops engaged bandits on the Tantatu high ground, as the bandits abandoned their camp fled further into the forest.
The troops searched the camp and rescued nine kidnapped persons, identified as: - Salama Oliver - Husseini Odu - Danjuma Jakanwa - Ezekiel Garba - Obadiah Moses - Taiwo Isaac - Buky Isaac - Ado Adamu - Maigari Shekarau
Initial debriefing of the rescued victims revealed that they had all been kidnapped around the Gurara Dam area.
The troops also recovered 90 cattle left behind by the fleeing bandits. The animals will be handed over to the Kaduna State Livestock Regulatory Authority for proper identification.
Further clearance patrols to Bawa Rikasa hill led to the recovery of four motorcycles belonging to the bandits.
The nine rescued persons will undergo further debriefing and examination before being reunited with their families. Fighting patrols will continue in the general area.

It was gathered that the victim identified as Zwalnan Lar committed suicide yesterday night, November 23.
An eyewitness who found his corpse said he dropped a letter and according to the letter he drank poison and subsequently hanged himself.
In the note he dropped, he appreciated his elder brothers for everything they’ve done for him and stated that his mother should take it easy with herself.
He said he didn’t know the meaning of life because his father has millions of naira and he can’t afford a smart phone worth 50K. He also mentioned a young man named Napyir, saying that he was the root cause of everything.
According to a source, a girl who was his girlfriend before the advent of the ASUU strike got married to another man. Upon discovery of the lady’s marital status following the suspension of the strike, he accused her of betrayal.
In the letter, he equally named the people he owed debts to and explained how they should go about collecting their money. He added that he would miss his mother and elder brothers and also tendered an apology to them.
The Nigerian Army checkpoint at Afor-Uzo Junction, Isuofia, was reportedly attacked by a group of gunmen this morning, November 12.

A man who is yet-to-be-identified has reportedly committed suicide following his separation from his wife.
It was gathered from sources who are familiar with the incident that the ugly development happened in the Akute area of Lagos state.
According an eyewitness account, the man and his wife had a misunderstanding and she decided to walk out of the marriage.
The man who was obviously angered by his wife’s decision, decided to take an extreme decision by killing himself.
Sources claimed that the man took his daughter to the nearest Point of Sale (POS) operator, withdrew all the money in his bank account and handed it over to his daughter.
It was learned that he had taken poison (snipper) before going to the POS shop with his daughter. Before he could complete the transaction, he slumped with a white foam coming out of his mouth.
People at the scene rushed and gave him red oil in an attempt to neutralize the poison, but he died moments later.
In some of the pictures sighted by salemgists, the man was seeing lying lifeless beside the POS shop.
Some armed men suspected to be herdsmen militias reportedly invaded Mchia in Mbagber council ward Logo Benue State yesterday midnight.
Salemgists learned that the militias struck the community in the midnight when the people were in their beds.
A source in the area told the publication that no fewer than 12 people were killed in the attack that lasted for an hour. The source said uncountable casualties were recorded.
Another source said the villagers who were angered by the yesterday incident, attacked Hausa community this morning, September 22.

The Adamawa State Police Command have arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly murdering two of his children.
It was gathered that the children who were aged 3 years and 5 years were killed by their father in Himikidu community, Michika Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect, Elisha Tari who is a resident of Himikidu, Michika Local Government Area, was said to have killed the victims with stones and sticks which he had used in hitting them on their heads severally.
The ugly development was disclosed in a statement that was released by the spokesperson of the state police command, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje.
He added:
“The incident was reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Michika by the grandfather of the victims.
“Preliminary investigation reveals that the victim’s mother got separated from the suspect Two (2) months ago after they had a misunderstanding.
“The suspect was arrested while trying to escape to Cameroon Republic, and is currently in Police custody undergoing interrogation to ascertain the reason behind the murder of his own biological children.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP SK Akande who expressed his sadness over the in-human act however, directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police CID to take over investigation and ensure prosecution of the suspect to serve as deterrant to others.
“The CP equally calls on members of the public to always report to the police all act of criminality within their locals.”
A 25-year-old man, Elisha Tari, who was arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for k!lling two of his children has given reasons for committing the dastard act.
Tari who is an indigene of Himike village in Michika Local Government Area, was arrested last Thursday, August 18, for stoning two of his children (3 and 5 years old respectively) to d€ath.
On Monday, August 22, Tari was paraded before newsmen. While fielding questions, the accused who is a traditional musician confessed to brutally murdering his victims.
"I smoke indian hemp, drink alcohol and inhale snuff. I do not in any way take tramol or any other hard drugs.'' he said
TarI stated that his wife and the mother of the deceased children left her matrimonial home over 2 months ago, and that all efforts to make her return proved abortive.
According to him, he went to his in-laws on several occasions to persuade their daughter to return home, but his in-laws denied him access to his wife and instead kept on deceiving him.
He said the deceased children came to meet him on that fateful day while he was cooking and he asked them "When is your mother returning back home?"
He said that he also asked them to say "God" but instead, they said 'fire and kept saying fire, fire, instead of God.'
"I became irritated and provoked by their action as a result which I picked up stones and hit them on their heads to d€ath" Tari said
He claimed he has a psychological problem, and was once tied with chains because of a mental disorder.
A young man identified as Idika Igu, popularly known as Utankpa has died after he was reportedly hit by a stray Bullet.
A source who is familiar with the incident said the development happened this morning, August 19 in Amaekpu Ohafia In Abia State.
The source said the operatives of the Nigerian military stormed the community in the early hours of today while shooting sporadically.
He stated that the young man was on his way to work when he was hit by the stray bullet which was fired by the military officers.
Details of the incident are still sketchy at the time of this report, but it was learned that the deceased body has been deposited at the morgue.
This comes after a young lady identified as Ifeoma Nnebuo lost her life after she was allegedly hit by a stray bullet fired by men of the Southeast regional security force, “Ebubeagu”.
The widowed woman was killed by the operatives while they were searching for members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), a subsidiary group of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) at Afor Atta Market in Atta Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State.
Another woman identified as Chinenye Ajunwa was also killed by a stray bullet in Ebem Ohafia, headquarters of Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia.
Chinenye died after she was hit by a stray bullet during the gun duel between soldiers and hoodlums in the community.
A middle-aged man has decided to end it all after he revealed in his last video that he had been owing someone and he was being pressured to pay back.
The man took to his Facebook page to post a video where he said all his goodbyes and revealed that the reason he was taking his life was because he was heavily indebted and the pressure on him was too much for him to bear.
In the video sighted by Salemgists, the man was calm as he stated that he owned someone a five hundred thousand naira (N500,000) debt and couldn’t face the embarrassment anymore.
He stated that feeding his family was very difficult because of the debt. He asked his wife, his two children, and parents for forgiveness and asked his next of kin, who is his mother, to process his pension funds and give the wife the proceeds.
The man, who is yet-to-be named, also asked his mother to take his family away from the house to their own house so they wouldn’t continue to have the trauma that he committed suicide in the house.
A 22-year-old mother, identified as Maike Musowe, allegedly killed her child by suffocating him.
It was gathered that the young lady killed her child by pressing a pillow in his face to suffocate him with the help of her boyfriend.
The young woman who is from Lusaka, Zambia, has allegedly taken her son’s life so she can continue partying around.
A source who is familiar with the incident said Maike and her boyfriend identified as Mwila Chilufya Bwipwa saw the innocent boy as a hindrance to their relationship.
They have been detained at Kabwata Police Station and will be facing a possible charge of murder.
The source said Maike, who is originally from Copperbelt, came to stay with her sister in Lusaka and has been neglecting her 2-year-old son, identified as Sangwani Chabinga.
Maike who was keeping late nights partying in various night clubs around the capital city forced her sister to give her matching orders to return to the Copperbelt.
However, Maike’s sister gave her money for transport to enable her travel back to the Copperbelt but she linked up with her lover yesterday, August 14.
It was gathered that they booked themselves into Shamuka Lodge in the Yellow Shop area, where they allegedly killed the young boy whom they saw as a hindrance to their enjoyment.
The couple pressed a pillow into the face of the helpless child until he died. They sneaked out of the lodge with the lifeless body of the boy.
The young woman then returned to her sister’s place and lay the child on the couch as if he was just sleeping.
Maike’s elder sister noticed the child was unresponsive and rushed him to the University Teaching Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
Upon interrogation at Kabwata Police Station, Maike confessed to ending the life of her child with the help of her boyfriend.
Officers of the Nigerian military have inflicted heavy casualties on armed men suspected to be bandits in Kaduna state.
It was gathered that the operation was carried out by troops of Operation Forest Sanity during a clearance patrol in Chikun Local Government Area of the state.
A military source said scores of the terrorists were killed during the raid, he also added that weapons and motorcycles were recovered from them.
The source said the operation was successful without any casualty on the side of the security officers, comprising troops and a team from the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF.
The development was confirmed in a statement released by the Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, Samuel Aruwan.
He stated:
“Security forces recorded a major success in ongoing operations against terrorists, as scores of bandits were neutralized by ground troops and air assets during an operation in Galbi, Chikun local government area.
“This was conveyed in an operational feedback to the Kaduna State Government from the security agencies.
“According to the feedback, troops of the Operation Forest Sanity supported by assets of the Nigerian Air Force conducted clearance operations on an identified terrorist enclave in Galbi general area.
“During their advance, the security forces crossed River Kaduna and ran into stiff resistance from the insurgents.
“After a fierce firefight, scores of terrorists were confirmed neutralized as the military forces prevailed.
“Two General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMGs), three AK47 rifles and seven motorcycles were recovered from the enclave of the neutralized bandits.
“The Kaduna State Government expressed excitement at the feedback, and praised the troops for their tenacity in this significant victory against the enemy forces.
“The Government thanked the troops, air force crews, police personnel, intelligence operatives, and local vigilante members who contributed to the success of the mission. The Government urged the security forces to increase the momentum and vanquish the terrorists for good.
“Troops will continue clearance operations in the general area, and other identified areas of interest across the state.
“The Kaduna State Government hereby encourages residents to volunteer useful information on activities or movement of terrorists to security agencies.”

A female student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Happiness Odeh has been found dead after she was abducted by unknown men.
The deceased who was a Mass Communication Student of the institution was abducted along Iperu road while on her way to a movie set location at Ipara, Ode-remo with the consent of her parents.
According to sources, the victim had gone missing since then and was discovered dead a few days later.
The student union government of the institution, while reacting to her death, said, contrary to the speculations, her death is not related to her status as the new Miss MAPOLY.
