www.news9naija.com.ng A bricklayer, Kunle Adewunmi, an alleged specialist in breaking into cemeteries to steal human body parts, and his two accomplices have been arrested in Abeokuta, Ogun State. They were arrested penultimate Saturday after allegedly Istealing human body parts from no fewer than 35 tombs in recent times. It was said that nemesis caught up with the trio while they were digging up graves at a cemetery belonging to a parish of the Methodist Church at Ogbe, Abeokuta. They were said to have been sighted by a female member of the Odua People’s Congress (OPC), who was attracted to the scene by the loud sound of diggers used by the suspects. The woman, sources said, raised the alarm which attracted other OPC members in the area who apprehended the suspects. Members of the church were said to have identified Adewunmi as the bricklayer usually hired to plaster graves after burial of bodies at the graveyard. ‘’The bricklayer is very known to the church members. He is the one usually contracted to plaster tombs inside the cemetery and took advantage of that to carry out his nefarious act at the cemetery.’’ The suspects were handed over to the Ibara Police Division, where the suspects allegedly mentioned a trader at the Itoku market as receiver of human parts stolen from the graveyard. Meanwhile, the suspects have since been arraigned before an Isabo Magistrate’s Court, Abeokuta, and granted bail in the sum of N200, 000 each. A source however said only one of the suspects had been able to perfect his bail at press time. https://www.news9naija.com.ng/2019/09/07/human-parts-thieves-caught-inside-churchs-cemetery-in-ogun/ |

tyup: A Source at the airport who confirmed the incident to newsmen said that no one was injured or died in the incident but the passengers were visibly shaken over the incident. |
Plane conveying over 600 pilgrims returning from the 2019 annual pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia crash landed at the Minna International Airport. The aircraft, a Boeing 744 with registration number 5N/ DBK was said to have developed technical fault in one of the plane’s four engines when it approached the Minna airport. A Source at the airport who confirmed the incident to newsmen said that no one was injured or died in the incident but the passengers were visibly shaken over the incident. Evidence of the crash landing of the plane could be seen as part of the tarmac and some materials were damaged when the aircraft skidded off the runway. The Public Relations Officer of the Niger state Pilgrims Welfare Board, Hajia Hassana Isah when contacted also confirmed the incident but did not give further details. News9naija gathered that five officials of the Accident Bureau of Investigation from Lagos had arrived the airport some hours after the incident and had inspected the partly damaged aircraft after which they went into a closed door meeting with the management of the airport. On the part of the passengers, it was thanksgiving galore as most of them after rushing out of the plane after the incident gushed their thanks to God for saving them from death. Eyewitnesses said that the Minna International Airport was saved from a big disaster as they said the fire from the aircraft, if the plane had crashed would have burnt down the airport as there are no fire fighting vehicles in the airport. “The fire that would have followed would have spread to all parts of the airport because we don’t have fire fighting vehicles in this airport”, a senior Official of the airport said. No official statement has been released from the management of the airline. https://thenationonlineng.net/just-inplane-conveying-pilgrims-crash-lands-in-niger/amp/ |

www.news9naija.com.ng The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has appealed to Nigerians not to engage in reprisal attacks against South-Africans following the violence which trailed the wave of xenophobia in South Africa. Adeboye made the appeal in his sermon on Friday night at the September Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption Camp on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Adeboye stated that an average South-African is a decent person. He likened the situation in South-Africa to the period of unrest in Nigerian universities in which only a handful of students usually engaged in trouble making. According to the popular cleric, bringing Nigerians back home is not the solution to the problem. He urged Nigerians to allow the government handle the issue. “Let us leave this job to the government. Let them solve this problem at the governmental level. ” Pray for them that God will give them wisdom, understanding and ability to do it,” he said. There was an overwhelming support for Adeboye’s appeal when he called for a voice vote on the matter. https://www.news9naija.com.ng/2019/09/07/xenophobic-attacks-adeboye-appeals-for-calm-cautions-against-retaliation/ |
