carzola:I understand your points but they are not justified enough. The world is wicked, we all know that. You were born with a purpose, to bring peace to the wicked, to make impact and be remembered for. Everyone can't have same level of luck, I get the fact that we cant choose where we would be born but it is not a valid excuse. Choosing to be weak is personal and shouldn't be. Mingle with the strong and get inspired by their story. Behind every successful person is a sobering story. If you believe, then you can! Live above suicide! |

This thread is borne out need to address the ravaging speed with which people are committing suicide. Nairaland Romance section is littered with several threads of people who are depressed and could be thinking suicide. To be honest with you guys, I've at some point been depressed but having lots of concerned friends and outspoken natured saved me alot. From my secondary school days to my jobless days. Now, when I look at those days, I would simply smile and say to myself, "if I survived those days, there is definitely nothing I can't scale through. Indeed death is never an option"
A number of things can lead up to suicidal feelings: 1. Depressed, or having serious mental illness 2. Using drugs or alcohol, particularly if you are upset. 3. Very anxious about the future or today's pressure 4. Under pressure from family or your peers. 5. Serious financial brokenness and/ indebtedness. Things to keep in when feeling suicidal 1. Think about who can help you and get support if you are thinking suicide. 2. If you are in danger and need urgent help, you can call the police by dialing 999 3. Never give up, you are stonger than you know. 4. Think Positive Some important risk factors you should watch out for in people around you, these factors can derive people into thinking suicidal. Your careful observation can save a life 1. Previous suicide attempt. 2. Relationship problems 3. Access to harmful means 4. Recent death of loved one 5. Unstable mental health condition 6. Ongoing exposure to bullying 7. Losing a close friend/ family member to suicide 8. Physical disability (not born with) 9. History of substance abuse 10. Loss of job, property and indebtedness. SUICIDE IS NEVER A OPTION, SPEAK UP WHEN YOU ARE DEPRESSED. LEARN TO OBSERVE CHANGES IN YOUR PARTNER'S, FAMILY MEMBER'S , FRIENDS', AND NEIGHBOR'S BEHAVIOR. ABOVE ALL, NO PROBLEM IS WORTH YOUR BLOOD NOR THE TEARS OF YOUR BELOVED ONES. Cc Seun Lalasticlala Mynd44 ilegendd Logobenz 2 Likes |

Presido24:Na long story but I go like make am brief. When I finished secondary school i was 100% certain that I won't further due to funds. I had some savings that would see me through first year but how would I cope with subsequent years? I joined GNLD with the money and lost all! Took up a teaching job in a private primary school with a 10k monthly take home. I couldn't cope with feeding and other basic necessities. House rent expired too. I had no option than to move down to the village (my papa dey village) On a second thought, I made contact with friends in a Enugu, got a an apartment in Ugbo-Odogwu ( the worst ghetto in Enugu) with on a monthly 2k rent. Had no job, no skill, and fast draining of cash. Being the type that dislike begging, I followed some folks to a new market where the wheel barrow pushing began. At least hunger no kill me! After a month, I switched to concrete and serving mason. From there I met someone that offered me a monthly paid job. Made some savings too and started skill acquisition. Today, my IT skills are feeding me.

Op if I tell you my story, you go know say you never see anything. How old are you? You were even lucky to get loan at first. Life really hit me hard badly. In summary, i came down to Enugu state( where no one would likely recognize me) and starting pushing wheelbarrow at New market. Today, I'm the CEO of Ichie ICT solutions and the publisher of News9naija. Currently reside in the GRA. Start from somewhere, there is nothing too small or too belittling. You need to dump your ego and Chase a passion. Life is always on a temporary transition. I rather give 10k to someone that would make another 10k with the the 10k than give a penny to someone for solving a problem. Be guided. 8 Likes |

Romance / Did I Over React? by Apeshy101(m): 11:04am On Oct 11, 2019 |
Being the first person to climb on board in a bus is quite painful yet thrilling. While you would be delayed till the bus is filled up, you will also have the opportunity to choose anywhere to sit in the bus. This was my case this morning. Got to new market (somewhere in Enugu). I could see the yellow striped "town service" bus disappear into the far beyond. Down with the pain of waiting another bus to load fully, I cursed the thin air under my breath. Less than 2 minutes of waiting, a rickety old bus in color same docked in the loading pit. This bus is the type we called "oji ikpere eru Aba" while growing up. If I had another option I would gladly choose, but here I am, staring at my destination yet not moved an inch from my location. Having the luxury of choosing where to sit, I went to the front seat. People trooped in gradually as the bus "conductor" wooed more people to join us. Finally the bus now filled, the driver made to turn on the ignition. Just then I grabbed the seat belt but it was stiff. Ha na wetin na? Me: Driver this belt is too strong ohh, how you dey take pull am? Driver: make I draw am for you. (Draws it down) Me: Ha! This thing no green enter this hole wey dey hold am Driver: just pull am and sit on it. That hole no dey work. Me: No ohh, wetin be the essence? Make I go for back abeg! Driver: Just sit on it, at least Road Safety no go catch us. Me: No! (In a raised tone) Make I come down jare. As climbed down some passengers who were uneasy with my action started jibbing rubbish but me I no send them. Some cursed me for delaying them. Passenger1: From new market to old park na him you dey find seat belt. Nonsense. If lf na Lagos you dey go nko? Passenger2: No mind am, driver make we dey go Etc I climbed down and swapped seat with someone willing to take over my "throne" at the front row. As I climbed back in but now at the second row of the back seat, as someone wey Sabi the importance of seat belt I wanted to yarn some lectures give them but they hushed me down. Me I kuku put my earpiece and sank my eardrums in Burna boy's Anybody". As we throttled down toward radio Nigeria bus stop (front of radio Nigeria Enugu office), Road Safety officers stopped us, driver no wear seat belt, front passengers no wear seat. Na so them park my us ohh. All the passengers started coming down one after the other till no soul was left in the bus. Them and driver begin negotiate, I just walked up to them, told them to check the passengers' seat belt that it's not functional at all. That moment i could see and feel the stare from Co passengers. If eye na gun I for don die! The driver was subsequently booked for several other offences. As the negotiations hit the brick wall, we had to find another alternative. Hailed another bus and continued my journey with others. Finally alighted at old Park, one my co-passengers tapped me and said; " Bros you harsh ohh, you really over reacted." Since then I've been pondering over it. Did I actually over react? How? Now I'm feel like I should have just walked away but my other spirit is saying I did the right thing. What's your opinion guys, did I actually over react? Typing.. |

Early this morning around 6:15 am. I went to step to check if the "broken down" truck is still there but it was no where to be found. This just confirmed my suspicion. My neighbor came over some minutes ago, some we been discussing about the incident but to my surprise, niqga can't really remember how he got into the Keke at the first place. We been arguing whether it was only him and I were at the back seat or there was someone else besides us. I have explained but niqqa still can't wrap his head around it. Even I can't remember any of their faces if I see them now but I would blame it on the darkness of the night. Pls be mindful of any vehicle you enter. I can't really say these people are ritualists or not, but it's better safe than sorry. Learn to observe usual things that shouldn't happen in out of routine. Never doubt your instincts. You may be wrong sometimes but right most of the times. Christmas is at the corner, avoid movements at odd hours. Above all, God saved me. NB: STEP IS AN UNDER PASS ALONG ENUGU-ONITSHA EXPRESSWAY. IF YOU ARE COMING FROM NEW MARKET, YOU WILL GET TO STEP BEFORE FLYOVER. ITS A SHORT CUT TO ENTER GOLF ESTATE FROM THE EXPRESS WAY. 104 Likes 6 Shares |

We discussed as we trekked, my friend was thinking almost same thing with me. Finally arrived our street, second to the last one the estate. Looking up to the step where we were supposed to drop, there parked a haulage van Looking closely, I could spot 3 persons looking down from the step to the estate. To be sure I was not hallucinating, I told my neighbor to look there and he saw same thing. We raised our pace and went inside. This truck could have just been broken down along that road but my instinct is saying otherwise?

These and many more are thoughts were running through my mind. Just then we were approaching SARS out post. The Estate has 3 major entrance, one of them is located along Enugu- Onitsha Express way. My neighbor just told them to stop us at SARS. At this point I was relieved. Why have I not thought of this since? It will prolong the trekking but 99% safe! The driver pretended not to hear, so I repeated it to him. This time very loud. (I swear the SARS men heard). The driver knowing that they had little chance of escaping if they tried shit, stopped. I hopped down like a from and vooom inside the SARS (you will pass through SARS if you are entering the estate from that side). We greeted some of them and continued our trekking. My neighbor tapped me and said "just look back" Na so I turned only to see that these people are still at that spot ohh. We slowed our pace to see if they will go but they remained there probably staring at us too! Typing.... 31 Likes 2 Shares |

The driver stopped on the gas and the "Keke" came to life, with little roaring it soared. A million thoughts ran through my mind. I turned to my neighbor, we locked eyes. I could read his mind from the expression on his face! Dude was thinking same thing with me. Na there I confirm say "we don enter". A millions ways out started running through mind in split seconds,
