Hello everyone. A friend needs your advise on where he should buy a land for future development. His office is on the Island, he can access Ikorodu via boat and vise-visa to the Island. Where would you advise him to buy a land to build a house for personal use? |
You can sell acid for car battery. |

It's 3:15pm on a drizzling Saturday afternoon at Abuja Airport, waiting to board a 3pm Arik to Lagos. In a split second, there's pandemonium as a unit of 14 Stern looking security personnels comprising Army, Navy and Mobile Police in full tactical gear march into the airport building. I pondered who they could be protecting cos I know President Goodluck doesn't fly from that wing of the airport. As the confusion settles, I spot the VIP. A smallish framed man with a papas hat. My mental data bank couldn't marry the face with the entourage and security details. Behold, it is "Government Ekpumopolo" AKA "Tompolo" (An Ex-Niger Delta Militant War lord. For those of u who don't know him) ..... He is ushered to board the plane as a Naval Officer carries his suit carrier and a man who later identified himself as an Executive Director of NIMASA is taking notes as he issues instructions to him, while we wait under the drizzle. An Elderly British(from his ascent) man standing next to me asks; he's a governor right? I replied; No. He enquires again; a top military or intelligence agency boss? Seeing his relentless effort to know who this mystery boss is and suspecting the disappointment that would overwhelm him and finally, the shame I'll have absorb for Nigeria before this man if I told him the truth, I said; YES, like CIA. And he said, I guessed as much On board the flight, "Which way Nigeria, by Sunny Okosun, 1985" kept echoing in my head. 28 yrs after that song hit the Nigerian Air waves, it still remains a Valid Question; WHICH WAY NIGERIA ? |
Facebook owner did it. Nairaland should learn from such. |
Hello everyone, I've been brain stroming lately and thought of the possibility of Nairaland becoming the 1st Forum in Africa to be listed in the stock market. Do you see it coming in the nearest future and in what way would it affect the way we view online business in Nigeria? |

Don’t mess with Microsoft! That’s the lesson that high school student Mike Rowe learned after tangling with the ginormous corporation. Back in ’03, Rowe had a part-time web design business, and created the domain name mikerowesoft.com, based on his name (of course), and adding the “soft” at the end to create a phonetic pun. Little did he know that he was messing with a giant. Microsoft learned about the website and sued Rowe for copyright infringement, demanding that he give up rights to the site. Rowe demanded compensation for giving the domain name to Microsoft, and they offered him $10…yes, TEN BUCKS, the original cost of registering the domain name. He was understandably offended at the offer and asked for $10,000. Microsoft declined and sent him a cease and desist letter, accusing Rowe of cybersquatting, a practice which forces large corporations into giving financial settlements. In the end, Rowe gave up the rights to his domain name, and Microsoft compensated him with: a subscription to Microsoft Developer Network, an all-expense paid trip to Washington, training for Microsoft certification, and an Xbox with a nice selection of games. Oh, and by the way…save yourself a couple of seconds and don’t bother going to www.mikerowesoft.com. It’ll just take you to the Microsoft.com website. Not like we already tried it or anything… |
