ClassicNairan: Ukrainian authorities said last year that the total weapons given by the EU and the US to Ukraine is more than enough to fight a war against any other nation in the world, bur not enough to wage war and come out victorious against Russia. In other words, they knew Russia cannot be defeated by them and Europe put together. But for the money, they're still in the game doing their master's bidding. 8 Likes 1 Share |

FoolishBoy419: Russia never bought a single unit of Shaheed for $196k. That was a lie the guy was just cooking. Maybe he was trying to say an entire fleet of drones. |

OfficialAPCNig: Russia did not back Amenia in the Nargono-Karabahk war. Get your facts right. And Shaheed drone is not even up to $25k talkless of $196k per unit. Guy, stop pulling facts from thin air. |
Foreign Affairs / Re: Sky News: Iran Successfully Hit Israel With 7 Ballistic Missiles by Appleyard(m): 2:20pm On Apr 18 |
OfficialAPCNig: Iran did not launch 170 ballistic missiles. Where did you get that from? The drones are more easier to intercept considering they are slower, and flying from such a long distance with many borders to cross. So, it's a plausable argument that the drones were more of a distraction l to increase the chances of the cruise missiles and ballistic missiles, which came last in the volley. The speed at which those missiles struck their targets lend credence to the argument that Iran intentionally carried out the attack that way. Whatever, I hope saner heads prevail. |

michlins: You're right. Many people are just looking at the damage cause per the volume of deployment without considering the significance of the attack itself. What Iran has done is "setting a precedent" for future occurrences. The strike entails that, from henceforth, any such direct attack by the IDF on Iranian targets would be met with a counter attack, something that has not been the case in time past. There is a reason the US and other allies are pressuring Israel not to retaliate. Iran has proved that it can slice through what has been known as the most densest air defense coverage in the world. A second strike would be more devastating than this because Israel won't have the luxury of a 12-days notice to prepare and call in their allies to support their defense. Write off Iran to your own peril. 1 Like 1 Share |

soqmeov: Actually, I have seen this before, and it has been in the works for years now. However, I'm confident this would not work for the time being because of the current realities on the ground. First, the Iranian leadership has an iron grip on internal affairs in the country. Outside provocations would only rally the populace around the Ayatollahs. So, a regime change plot is dead on arrival. Secondly, Iran is highly advanced in military capabilities, and they have proven that they're not afraid to strike when the need arises. In fact, Iran is the only non-nuclear armed country to have struck targets against three nuclear armed nations without fearing a reprisal. I'm talking about the US base in Iraq, Pakistani terrorist base in Pakistan, and recently, against Israeli bases deep in Israel. Don't you think a nation that has been so embolded in taking such steps have something HIDDEN that most people don't know about? THINK brother. I pray that this current rancour won't cause the west to wake up one day to a disappointing reality per Iran. Thirdly, many people are not aware that Iran, China, and Russia has a trilateral information sharing agreement that has been in operation for years. I think they started it after seeing what the west led by US and NATO did to Libya. Thus, it would be difficult for any US/Mossad war plot against Iran to go completely clear under the radar. Another myopic assumption the paper seemed to issinuate is that Israel could be overwhelmingly successful in an attack on Iran, and that the US would be exonerated in the entire region. This is a delusional fallacy. A direct attack on Iran from Israel would be greeted with instantanious reprisals from Iran and it's numerous proxies, and is going to be 100x more deadlier than what we just saw. Moreover, all US bases and assets in the region would come under massive attacks. In fact, no amount of US covert or overt intervention would prevent Israel from suffering massive destruction if push comes to real wider shoves. Israel is very vulnerable in that region than a whole lot of people think. A wider war now would drag in players like Egypt and Algeria that are currently seating on the fence. Not to mention the likes of China and Russia under the auspices of the SCO and strategic partnership. This, to me, are too huge a risk that the current US government would even dare to comprehend let alone venture into. Besides, the economic collapse that would follow such a war would be too unimaginable as such that no amount of money printing can make the Yankees to survive it. In fact, the collective west has a whole lot to lose than what Iran and his proxies stand to lose. And with elections close by, it would be foolish for the Biden administration to enter a major war with possible massive US casualties. The current sabber-rattling from the Israel war cabinet right now is purely out of frustration and pressure. Netanyahu is under immense pressure to deliver results. In a matter of weeks he promised to get Hamas eliminated, six months after, he is still there with no concrete results to show for it, except for levelled civilian infrastructures and thousands of dead women and children. Hamas is still firing missiles from Gaza. He knew what he was doing when he targeted that Iranian consulate. He was trying to divert attention from his seemingly failures in the war with Hamas, and he got his wish. But now, if he doesn't play smart, he may end up in a even bigger mess than he envisaged.
