Masterviolence: You are so right. Many people reason out of pure emotions and religious affiliations. This is geopolitics, not some domestic tribal or religious war. Anyone that says Iran fell into Israeli and American plan to drag them out for a full-scale war is myopic. Most people don't even know how weak the US has become in the Middle East. You only have to look at how majority of the key state players in the region aided and abetted Russia the moment western sanctions flies in. Qatar refused the attempt to get it to fill the gap left by Russia in the oil and gas supply to Europe, and to the ire of the US and the EU, Saudi Arabia even went ahead to buy Russian oil and reselling them at hire prices. The US waning influence was even more underscored when China got Iran and Saudi Arabia to restart diplomatic and bilateral relations. What many people here don't know is that, Israel will not survive a full fledged regional war with Iran on the driving seat. If it was easy to attack, invade and destroy Iran, they could have done it many years ago. Each time they gamed the scenario, it turned out to be a disaster. The casualties level for the US and Israel was unimaginable. And the Saturday's retaliatory attack by Iran has further underscored what real geopolitical minds like us have known for a long time. Let me explain. Last Saturday, Iran proved that it can slice through what many described as the most densest air defense coverage in the world, penetrating all Israeli and NATO manned missile Shields. This included capabilities that formed the benchmark of the whole Western alliance; from advanced SIGINT to C4ISR to Patriot, THAAD, Iron Dome, C- Dome, David’s Sling, and Arrow-3, and SM-3, plus the involvement of the West’s most advanced A2A defenses flown from F-35s, Typhoons, Eurofighters, and sea-based Allen Burke Class missile destroyers and more. The fact that much of that Iranian volley included slow moving missiles and drones (except for the few ballistic missiles), yet managed to penetrate Israel's defences, especially with the spectacular view of missiles flying over the Knesset, is a rude awakening to war-happy Netanyahoo and his genocide war department that Iran isn't a bluff like they think. It gets even scary for them when you realise that, that is just a tip of what Iran has in it's arsenals. And that they can do real big damage if they wanted to. So, it's in the best interest of America to rein in Israel before they get into a brouhaha they will live to regret for a very long time. And to those shallow mind pygmies on this thread who delusionally envisioned a situation where God will send angels on chariots of fire to fight on behalf of Israel, well, I'm sorry to disappoint you, the God I know is not unrighteous to defend murderers who intentionally target and destroy civilian buildings, bombed hospitals, bomb aid workers sent on redcross vehicles to rescue the wounded civilians. Continue waiting and hoping that, by blindly supporting Israel in its atrocities God would bless and grant you visa to heaven. You're hellbound. 13 Likes |

usmanpogo: The African division was more on their colonial heritage and geopolitical leaning. That is, the British and French camps. However, recent happenings has shown that Africans can actually breakaway from this mentality, as seen with the ongoing rebellion against French interest in the continent. Moreover, the African contingent can make their proposal under the auspices of the AU to present a unified stance. It is disheartening that despite having such a huge representative at the UN, not s dongle African nation is among the Security Councli permanent members. 2 Likes |

emmaodet:The security council setting is what is killing the UN. It's time they restructure the whole thing. Final decisions on important matters should be taken by simple majority vote in the General Assembly, and the implementation by way of order be sent to the restructured security council for implementation. I want to see a situation where if they failed to restructure the UN, the entire African contingent should withdraw from the body and form a new organization with nations from South America, and Asia, and the Middle East. Africa alone has 54 nations. A threatened or actual withdrawal would effectively make the UN irrelevant to other nations. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Fash20:Going to Poland is even too far. Even in Ukraine, it would be a declaration of war. Nations like the US and many others keep military personnel in their embassies. Especially in hotspot locations. It's part of a nation's sovereign right to do with its territories, and it's one of the unwritten rules that you don't touch the embassy of another nation, not even in the host country by the host government. Netanyahu just think he can do anything and get away with it. Well, he was been warned. 4 Likes |

Masterviolence: The US as it is now does not have the stomach to fight Iran in a direct hot war, let alone a regional one. The numbers of US casualties alone would make Vietnam looks like child's play. US think-tanks have gamed this scenario many times and the result turns out to be very pathetic. It's Israel that is just needlessly dragging in the US into trouble. 7 Likes 1 Share |

seunny4lif: I told you this before, US have no stomach for a large scale war right now. So, they're trying to deescalate quickly. If another retaliation from Israel happens, Iran would most likely close the Straight of Hormuz and things would really get bad from there economically. It's in the best interest for both Israel and US to end this right now. 1 Like |
