Politics / Oshiomhole Plots To Obliterate Esan Land—anenih by aprokomania(m): 6:55am On Jul 18, 2016
Former chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, BoT, Chief Tony Anenih, has accused Governor Oshiomhole of plotting to obliterate the Esan Nation saying the outgoing governor has consistently marginalized the region and its people.
Anenih, has, however, vowed that the Esan people would resist the alleged plots and the continued domination of the people by Oshiomhole in the September election.
Anenih, who spoke at the Edo Central PDP governorship flag off at Okpujie Primary School, Uromi, recalled how Governor Oshiomhole at the start of his administration more than seven years ago refused to pay the counterpart fund of N300 million needed to complete the Ugbalo Waterworks after he had made the Federal government commit the sum of N1.2 billion to the project.
“Today, there is no water Esanland. I pleaded with the president then to give us water, and he awarded a contract of N1.2 billion for Ugbalo Waterworks. Oshiomhole was asked to pay the counterpart fund of about N300 million. Oshiomhole, up till today has refused to provide the money. That is why the water scheme has not been completed.
He does not want us (Esans) to have water. “Esan race is being extinguished by Oshiomhole, but we will not allow it; we will resist it.

Politics / Why We Can’t Impeach Buhari — House Chief Whip, Alhaji Alhassan Doguwa by aprokomania(m): 6:23am On Jul 18, 2016
THE House of Representatives, weekend, in Bauchi State, said it had no single evidence of impeachable offences against President Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking through the House Chief Whip, Alhaji Alhassan Doguwa, who represents All Progressives Congress, APC, Doguwa/Tudun Wada Constituency in Kano State, insisted that no such issue was contemplated in the House of Representatives.
Fielding questions from newsmen, Doguwa said: "As far as I am concerned, I am a member of House of Representatives and a principal officer of the House; the National Assembly is a twin institution; we have the House and we have the Senate. If there is any insinuation or speculation about the impeachment of Mr President in any chamber rather than the House of Representatives, that, I don’t know,
“But I want to be very straight forward to you that we don’t have such a consideration before us. That matter is not even being contemplated; it was not even at any point in time thought of. After all, we do not have any evidence of impeachable offence with which to use against Mr President.

He described as unfounded, speculations on purported impeachment plans, adding that “it is mere speculation on the street and should be left at that level.”

MARKETING. And when you have all these right, the final step you have to take into account is marketing. It entails the steps as well as avenues you employ to get people to know about your products and services. No matter how great your product is, if people do not know about it, it is sure to die a natural death. So do well to get acquainted with the various methods of marketing available in the 21st century including online and other more conventional marketing like word of mouth. Taking the coke example again, due to their aggressive marketing strategies over the decades, not only are they the world’s top selling brand, Coke as a word is the second most recognized word globally after Okay.

Business / Four Easy Steps To Make Your Business Stand Out by aprokomania(m): 7:58pm On Jul 15, 2016
Irrespective of whether you own a road side restaurant or a chain of luxury boutiques, or even a web based business, your main aim of being in business is to make a profit. However, you will not be getting as much revenue as you should if you do not stand out from your competition and give your customers a reason to come back to you over and over again. To some people, it may seem like an uphill task to stand out from the competition. However today, in four easy steps, you will learn how to do just that.

QUALITY. This is an indispensable tool in your quest to stand out. I am sure a lot of you reading this have a favorite restaurant where we love to eat. If you strip away all other factors that influenced your eating there, we can boil it down simply to the fact that the quality of food you get at this place is far better than what others in that same area have on offer. Hence, if you want to make your customer keep coming back, the first key is the most important, ensure your product or service is better than what your competitors have to offer.

INNOVATION. This simply means doing things in a new or unexpected way. For example, Coke as a brand was not the first soft drink available in the market. However, it was the first company to see the potential in bottling its products instead of selling it in cauldrons. Today, it is the top selling soda drink in the world. No matter the size of your business now, just think of ways you can make accessing your products or using your services more convenient for your customers and you are on your way to success.

PACKAGING. No matter how good your product is, if it does not come in an attractive package, you will definitely not get to your optimal number of customers. The reason why celebrities shell out large amounts of money on some luxury clothes or shoes is not because it is made of superior materials in most instances, but the attractiveness of the packaging used.
Practical example, many of us would buy the second meal for maybe three hundred naira or even less, but the same meal at the top for two thousand naira. The difference? Packaging.

crownedrookie:
The thing is, how do we ppenetrate the market and establish a supply chain quickly enough to start making a profit?
the first thing is to ensure quality of your products
in egg production, quality is measured by the size of the eggs, how fresh your eggs are and lack of breakage.
once this is taken care of, you would have to do some work in looking for people who buy wholesale
restaurants, bakeries, market women who buy in large quantities and such are your target. you may need to do a bit of work here but if you can offer them a better deal, you can be sure you have them hooked on you as their supplier. in addition, your clientele will keep growing as you keep at it. once people know you produce eggs, there will be a stream of customers knocking at your gate to buy.
cheers.

A majority of you my readers are business enthusiasts, and while we notice the effect the recession is having on the economy, we can keenly observe that a lot of companies are closing shop and leaving the country.
For critical observers also, you will know that there are certain areas of the economy that are hard hit, especially the indigenous manufacturing sector, as many production companies source their raw materials from other countries and with the surge in the price of foreign exchange, particularly the price of the dollar, it is difficult for most of these firms to operate at a profit.
However, other sectors of the economy are doing well and today, I present you with one that has been predicted to have the highest turnover on investment within the fiscal year.
This sector of the economy is the agricultural sector, and more specifically, due to the recent policy of the federal government on school feeding, the poultry sector is one that is very promising.
Recall that barely two months ago, the federal government through the minister of information Lai Mohammed said that the school feeding program of this administration will require about a billion eggs yearly to sustain.
Imagine that this figure is more than the current production capacity of the entire nation. So we expect that there will be a huge demand for eggs not only for this program, but to address the deficit that will be sure to hit the market once the policy takes full effect.
So, if you have been considering which business to invest in, now would be the time to seriously consider going into the poultry business specifically to produce eggs.
The great thing about this business is that you do not require massive investments to begin, and you can run it virtually anywhere you have space.
If you are confused about how to start this business, I have identified this excellent resource you can use as a startup guide.
Feel free to leave your comments below. I sure love to hear from you and assist you in any way I can.

Nairaland / General / How To Protect Yourself From ATM Card Fraudsters by aprokomania(m): 8:05pm On Jul 12, 2016
In more developed countries, this issue is one that has been raging for years due to the simple fact that they had developed electronic payment channels long before other parts of the world (especially ours) embraced it fully.
In Nigeria, perhaps with the increasing popularity of Ecommerce in our financial institutions, it seems to be a relatively new challenge. ATM fraud occurs when a third party (apart from you or your bank) obtains confidential information from your card and makes use of such information to fraudulently obtain money from your account, usually through online channels.
It is very easy now for these fraudsters to access your account due to the fact that in most cases, all that is needed to process online transactions are the details printed on the surface of your card namely; your card number; which is the sixteen digit number on the front of your card, your cards expiry date and your card verification value (Security); the three or four digit number also printed on your card.
So, to protect yourself from card fraud, take special note of the following;

First, when making withdrawals from ATMs, be careful to hold your card firmly. That is not the time to show any random stranger your cards or as people who are not literate are more likely to do, give a stranger to help them withdraw cash. Just yesterday, I was at the bank to make a withdrawal and standing in the queue, I noticed this young man staring intently at my card. I had to move away from him for my own good. Who knows, he may have been trying to get my card details. Also, only call the security personnel to help you make withdrawals if you are not able to do it yourself. This is a relatively safer option.
In addition, do not under any circumstance be careless with your card, especially if you stay with strangers (e.g in a school hostel) its best you always keep your cards in a safe place, especially your handbags or wallets. That way, you alone have access to them.

Futhermore, you should be very selective the sites you use your cards to purchase from. Always verify the security certificates of the sites you need to make purchases from. Usually, secure sites have that little padlock logo displayed at the point where you have to make payments. Porn sites are the number one sites where ATM fraud occur, as these sites store your card details and use them to initiate transactions without your knowledge, so be careful when making payments to get them. As a general rule, I have a separate MasterCard which I use when I have to purchase or pay for stuff online. That account is usually empty and I just fund it with the exact amount I need when I need it.

In case you notice any fraudulent withdrawal on your account, do well to quickly report such to your bank through the customer care channels. Usually, they will block your account while they do all they can to retrieve your funds. If reported early enough, usually, you should be able to get your money back.

Finally, if all else fail, use this little trick I have tried and has worked beautifully for me; take a small piece of duct tape and tape away your Security. That way, it will be safe from prying eyes. Some people have even decided to gently wipe it off completely. Though I do not advise this as you may not recall the code when you do need it, I cannot deny that it is highly effective at protecting you to a great extent.

If you found this article useful, do share it to enlighten others. Also, feel free to leave your comments below if you have been a victim, or you need further clarification. Cheers.
