Hon. James Faleke, the running mate to late Abubakar Audu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Saturday’s governorship election in Kogi State, has written to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, asking the commission to declare him the governor-elect of the state.
Faleke, made this known in a letter to INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu.
The lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency of Lagos State in the House of Representatives, who expressed sadness over the death of Audu, opined that under Section 187 of the 1999 Constitution, he was duly elected as deputy governor of Kogi State.
“In law and logic, no new candidate can inherit or be a beneficiary of the votes already cast, counted and declared by INEC before that candidate was nominated and purportedly sponsored,” Mr. Faleke wrote through his counsel, Wole Olanipekun.
“Assuming without conceding that INEC is even right to order a supplementary election, the votes already cast, counted and declared on Saturday, 25th November 2015, were votes for the joint constitutional ticket of Prince Abubakar Audu and our client.
“Therefore, no new or ‘supplementary’ candidate can hijack, aggregate, appropriate or inherit the said votes.”

Senate President, Bukola Saraki got a standing
ovation on Wednesday, November 25 2015 for
introducing over 100 senators by their names
and their constituencies in Aso Rock,Abuja.

While at the dinner with all senators of the
Republic of Nigeria and President Muhammadu
Buhari, Saraki stood up to introduce over 100
Senators in attendance by their names and their
constituencies.
This impressed President Buhari that he stood up
to give the senate president a warm handshake
after his introduction.
The Senators also demonstrated their respect for
the Senate President when, apart from the two
nominated by Saraki, others refuse to make
further comments despite the fact that the
compere said the President had granted them
permission for more speakers to address the
session.

Jonathan had written his estranged godfather,
seeking blessing for his next public engagement:
The Goodluck Jonathan Foundation. In the letter ,
Jonathan addressed the former president as
“Dear Baba” as he informed him that after his
handing-over of power to President Muhammadu
Buhari, he is proceeding on a “long deserved
break.”

Obasanjo has however replied him, advising him
(Jonathan) to use the new Foundation he is set
to establish to engage in soul-searching and in
reviewing his past actions. In the letter, dated
October 12, 2015, Obasanjo also advised
Jonathan to consider the Foundation as a
platform through which he can heal his
conscience and demonstrate penitence over his
past actions.

“I write to acknowledge the receipt of your letter
of September 22, 2015. I take this opportunity to
congratulate you on your successful handover to

you also had time to reflect and see what
lessons you have learned and what you can
bequeath to others.
“All of us who have had experience in our
service to the nation and to humanity must not
put it under the bushel.
“I have to commend you and your Foundation,
Goodluck Jonathan Foundation, for the faith you
continue to have in Nigeria.
“Maybe seeking how to be better and more
serviceable to the nation and humanity is also a
