Politics / Re: Ewuare, Oba Of Benin Hails Wike (Video) by Area4Area: 4:12pm On Jul 26, 2020
OfoIgbo:

Oba of Benin's origin has absolutely nothing to do with Ife.
Benin Oba tradition is way older than Ife.

Oba remains a title in Nri till date, and it doesn't mean King (Eze or Igwe). It is perhaps one of the highest titles in Nri territories, beside that of the Eze or Igwe.

In Benin, Oba doesn't also mean king. That immediately reveals the Benin obas are not spin-offs from Ife.
In Yorubaland, Oba means king, which is probably an idea they got from Benin, thinking it meant king in Bini.

Up until a little over a hundred years ago, Eze Nris bestowed the ofo on every Oba of Benin and Attah of Igala.

The Ooni of Ife never bestowed anything on the Oba of Benin. The Nris would have been aware of such a thing. Thank God Portuguese explorers made it to Benin during the reigns of Oba Ewuare and Oba Ozolua in the 1400s to confirm the pre-eminence of Nri cultural supremacy of Benin.
If those explorers had visited Ife, the Ooni of Ife would have told the Portuguese about the Nri cultural supremacy of Ife at that particular time also.

Never mess with Nri. Again, as I wrote sometime ago, when the Nris speak, the true Igbo territories will be known.

Pay no attention to some cultural journeymen in Igboland at the moment, like the Aguleris and others. When Nri speaks, Nigeria will know.
Why not face topic? Topic is about Oba of Benin, Bini and Ikwerre, why bringing in other topics in order to derail because you feel too pained?
No Ikwerre man/woman or sociocultural group had even debunked what the Oba said so what's your own?

Good morning Nigeria people.
Show us pictures or videos of same in other African or even Asian and middle eastern countries.
You guys should understand that cultures are different around the world, some people don't care if you show their faces and the authorities don't mind showing the caskets and actual burials. In others, it is the opposite.

Religion / Re: Bishop Oyedepo: If You Don’t Pay Your Tithe You Are Under A Financial Curse by Area4Area: 2:33pm On Jul 18, 2020
Myer:

The problem is that people do not read their bibles. Hosea 4:6

That's why they are tossed everywhere by the crafty doctrines of men. Ephesians 4:14

Yes, not tithing used to attract curses on the Jews. Malachi 3:8-9

But the blood of Jesus redeemed all from the curses of the law. Galatians 3:13-14

Now you give willingly and cheerfully. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8

Not because there's any financial curse to it.
So many financially successfull non-Christians and even Christians don't tithe but give as they will.

Oyedepo is one of the biggest corrupted prosperity preachers who has exalted the love of money above God. 1 Timothy 6:5-10
Virtually all his messages are based on faith in tithes and seed sowing for financial prosperity, not faith in Jesus Christ.

The lockdown continues to expose these wolves in sheep clothing profiting of the gullible masses. Matthew 7:15-17

The irony is they invite you to their church with the message of salvation from every sin and curse.
But when you become a member the message changes. All of a sudden you're not completely saved and you are cursed if you do not pay tithes.

That's why most Christians pay tithes out of fear and not cheerful heart.
God bless you for this and more oil in your brain.

Jesus addressed all that, just like He addressed tithing
Meaning we should obey the new laws and stop picking up some laws in the old and to be practiced with the new.

Lack of understanding is what is plaguing most of you, but unfortunately, I don't have the patience to explain words that are clear.
You better don't have the patience, follow the old or new laws but stop mixing both. You can't pick tithes in the old law and leave out stoning of adulterers and stubborn children to death, animal sacrifices etc.

Tithing works for me!!! God has proven Himself Mighty in my Life. Even if I mistakenly use my tithe for something else, I must repay the tithe (backlog) once I get another money. I can't even sleep well when I don't pay my tithe!! I'm not supposed to tell you this but I still owe God 3,000. I'll pay it when my next money comes. smiley For your information, I'm a school teacher!! smiley
Nobody is interested in your life history, all we are saying is that pastors should twisting the word of God, follow the old mosaic law 100% and obey all laws therein OR follow the new one which Jesus Christ came for and follow it 100%. Stop mixing both.

They were not the only ones selling their lands, so you need to bring it up is what I don't understand.
Stop trying to mix up the Bible again, you brought up the selling of land as we talked about tithes and you were corrected that both weren't related (Ananias and Saphira).
Others may have sold theirs too but didn't lie to the spirit of God. Some might have brought 1% or 100% of the proceeds but didn't lie.

Hope you know Bill Gate is a Jew doing things according to the Jewish law?

Of course, if you're led by the spirit, you'll have no arguments about tithing. You'll even give more than 10 percent. Heck, people were selling their hands and bringing all the money to the foot of the disciples.
That happened in the new testament, the believers were told to give anything they can give and not tithes.
Ananias and Saphira sold their land and laid the money at feet of the apostle, when asked if that was all, they lied it is and died instantly.

Stop mixing up the Bible because you want to support your thiefing pastor

I thought men like Oyedepo has a good working knowledge of the Scriptures but I'm disappointed when I read post like this, or hear them vigorously preach about payment of tithe.

Tithe-paying was a commandment under the Old Testament Law meant to be obeyed/kept by the 11 eleven tribes of the children of Israel in the Promised Land. This tithe was paid to the Levite as God commanded since the tribe of Levi (Levites) were not apportioned land in Canaan. (Read Numbers 18:20-24; Joshua 13:14-33; Hebrews 7:5).

The law of tithe-paying is not binding on Christians (in any age) to keep since Christians are not under the Old Covenant but under the Law of Christ.

Christians today are not OBLIGATED to pay tithe to anybody or any denominational body.

Christians are to voluntarily give their means without being coerced or under compulsion, but give willingly and cheerfully as they purpose and decide in their hearts. (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 9:6-8. Compare 2 Corinthians 8:12).

Funny enough, the tithe being paid today by Christians in these churches (though not a command to them) is not even done as it was COMMANDED by God to the children of Israel. These passages tells us the practice in tithe-paying done under the Old Covenant: Deuteronomy 12:5-7, 10-15, 17-19; 14:22-29.
God bless you for this

you are paying tithe according to whose formula? The formula that God almighty put down in israel law does not even allow you pay tithe because you are not a descendant of Israel.
Did you even know that? The foreigners who lived in the land of Israel at the time were not included in the tithing-formulae. Even Moses's own son did not make God's list.

So what makes you think your tithe is according to God when you dont even do it how God stipulated, and He never included you in His list of those to pay tithe from even before you were born?
Thank you abeg, they'd always claim to know the Bible because their pastor said so but ask him to back it up in the Bible and he's lost.
The law of Moses is an ALLor NONE law, you obey all the laws to receive the full blessings or miss one and miss all.

If you believe in tithes then you must believe and accept the following; an eye for an eye, stoning of adulterers and stubborn children to death, animal sacrifices at the temple etc, you don't pick one and leave the rest.
