True. Ironically, GEJ administration's utter underperformance (so puzzling, for one having vast pipelines of goodwill back in '11) has provided a convenient foil for the leadership in Lag & its likes all over the nation The distraction of FG's poor leadership has been a good cover so far Relieve the country of GEJ & then watch light shine in dark places, hopefully Surely Lagos would be far more livable if performance indeed, even nearly, matched the hype. Nigerians' tested patience is surely too pent up by now to further bear the hot air from overrated 'performance' |
tit:Withdrawal symptoms? Are you trying to gaslight the miserable majority of your compatriots? For your sake, hope your lines above are a joke. Else even Joseph Goebbels himself couldn't have put it better. |
Too sad Indeed making a nation work is no rocket science Especially in 2015 Fingerz xrssd |
So poignant. Did Reuben Abati pen this under some pseudonym Reads like his works before raw 'necessity' made him turn coat like Quisling. Fingerz xrssd 4 Naija |
appini:Wishful thinking i hope? Try the Alexander Litvinenko route @ your own peril Expect the hordes of hell to swoop Certain crude stuff remains the exclusive preserve of d likes of Vladimir P. |
Sadly, we still seriously lack the credibility to influence events @ OPEC now, ceremonial titles notwithstanding. Great deal of mess needs clearing @ home first. http://www.economist.com/news/business-and-finance/21645086-nigeria-wants-opec-cut-oil-production-its-pleas-are-unlikely-be-heard-oily-mess |

Mrbigman1:Pls perish the thought of 'export resuming'. Oil being our major source of FX export income, only high-cost shale drillers being mowed off the market is providing the current tenuous support for oil price Worse still (for us) the more efficient drillers are solidly improving productivity per well so this 'unfortunate' global oversupply is here to stay, for d forseeable long term, given OPEC gulf producers' overiding clout in policy sway You & i can safely kiss off d good old days of $100/barrel crude and ditto circa N170/$ Unfortunately, we blew it while the prudent (Gulf chaps) ratcheted up savings/reserve I believe the storm wont leave us none the wiser in its wake Fingers crossed |

Africa (SSA, in particular) need no further liberation than from only ITSELF This is 2015 and not some point in 19th century anymore Each country should sweat it out and grow a spine, @ least before these incessant but now trite & cliched mouthing of another supine 'Pan African' fancy We are our own toughest challenge Enough of playing the hapless victim already |
Intra-racial cruelty (black on black, in this instance). SMH for us humans! |
Hardly a long read given the scoop. The puzzle is if Ngozi refused being browbeaten by the grizzly 'bully' in Obasanjo & with good outcome, then why the morally expensive total capitulation of her invaluable gravitas to the current minions? The barbarians certainly ran rings round Jonathan. If Buhari wins, the honeymoon would surely be brief. |
Freudian slip? |
It really beats parents struggling to stay ahead of the 'sex-sells' curve while raising children into well-adjusted adults in a clime where infrastructure seem contrived to ensure failed parenting (E.g. in commuting, think of the extra time, stress, sleep debt & expenses from excessive & avoidable traffic snarls which a simple additional lane could have prevented if leadership focuses on family & business needs) Possible remedies exist in historical paralells. Must be deja vu all over again just as postwar parents, raised conservative & strait-laced, were confronted with similar dilemma in sex-charged rebellion & liberation movements that shocked the culture in the 60s & very late 50s, not least fueled later by the contracep. pill breakthrough just as cheap digital technologies are doing now for good and, not too surprisingly, for ill. Suggest parents seriously limit the number of children spawned not least to increase the quality-time available to spend @ home with their family. Simple consideration of long-term personal health/well-being & economics would rightly & easily dictate this since the communal network (and, civil service jobs structure?) that subtly & largely complemented the parenting efforts of yore are being fast eroded. |
D@mn! Hell of a trip down memory lane Thanks Op |

iluvnaija:The 'Joe-Biden' gene in expression d umpteenth time in GEJ. Unlike Biden's gaffes, GEJ's context's always dark and ominous These would b funny if Nigeria's status were not so tragic. |

[quote author=homerac7 post=28318948]Surely, Billyonaire, you didn't type this, not @ all. Nigeria's external debt being half America's? Your fingers & mind must have been briefly hacked. |
Almost any people can refer back to some past glorious cultural apogee from which they sadly suffered a decline. The crux's always about their present status and what serious effort is being made towards progress; nostalgic pining alone only ensures continuing decay. The present should strive to be worthy of the past's proud nod. Presently, China (watch the way they are pulling out all the stops!) easily comes to mind as a case in credible success. We all surely agree on what to score our African corner. Civilization's cradle indeed. |

Recall, still with all due respect to the six-year itch effect, that about two-thirds of eligible voters did not turn out. IMO, the overarching factor over the current fundamental demographic change and the anxiety it tends to cause, not least in form of protest 'tribal' voting, is that Republicans now have control & a solid majority in each house, even if it's less so in d Senate. Surely there's no more excuse to block & obstruct but a chance to work together for d country's much delayed growth (self inflicted delay imo as recent economic trends could more easily have been far more solid in terms of quality of jobs created) Here's hoping their new control will mean constructive compromise & not an extension of d sullen gridlock/hostage-taking of past 4 years Can't wait for d coming 2 years to unfold *Watching Mitch McConnell with laser focus :-)* |
No. 13 reconfirms d evil in us all- man & d dark side of commerce, africans enthusiastically gave an opening/crack the traders later eagerly widened Good one OP |
Too freaking far-fetched a promotional for a movie More like a fantansy spun from a fevered mind Sorry if i don't take it seriously Those behind this need 2 relax more Nice storyline though |
