I THINK PROPAGANDIST ARE UNFAIR WITH AREGBESOLA ......"If Aregbe had access to 5% of the propaganda deployed against him, APC would have won very easily. "They wrote so much on the salary issue. But their writings were influenced by propaganda, which they dare not admit. Organisations going down financially often cut down staff size to reposition themselves. Osun was not getting enough again from the Federal purse. The man had to manage what he has. "In managing same, projects did not stop. Education, Healthcare services and others continued unabated. An informed journalist would have used statistics to gauge the Human Development score sheet of Osun State, which till date is one of the best in Nigeria. No. They did not do that. Salary was the issue. "But were salaries not being paid? They ignored the facts and went for propaganda. The most vulnerable members of any organisation's workforce are the low level staff. They are easily affected more than senior staff when there is a shortfall in income. "Instead of cutting down on staff through dismissals or massive retirement, Aregbe opted to grade his workers. Levels 1 to 7 till date were never owed a dime since the financial crisis began. They've always being paid their full salaries and they constitute about 60% of the workforce. "Levels 8 to 12 get 75% of their salaries, while those above get 50%. You hardly get to read that in almost all commentaries. What you read is that Aregbe is owing salaries. Meanwhile, he could have done what Chief Bisi Akande did - dismiss loads of staff. "The schools in Osun remain the best across the South-West today. But Lagos and Ogun have more money than Osun. "Son of man will still write about this at a later day. Immortal Awo lost elections around that axis between Ilesha and Ekiti shortly before independence. Why? They voted against him for introducing free and compulsory education with propagandists deceiving the people he was luring their children away from farms to make the people poor. Today, the same Awo is a hero. Let us vote continuity in osun APC!!! IBO!!! |
