EmeeNaka: 109million for Nnewi North,Nnewi south and Ekwusigo federal constituency? That's such a pity. Igbos don't know how to loot. That's the most sincere but grossly insufficient constituency project figure. What will 109million do for Nnewi north, Nnewi south and Ekwusigo Federal constituency? Sadly, the idea was never to deliver anything, it was just another looting and stealing orgy and they've been doing this for decades... We've lost trillions via padding alone. And you wonder why politics is a do or die affair. It's all about looting and stealing and never about public service. Take away looting and stealing and these jokers won't step anywhere close to politics.. |

idupaul: You clearly don't stay in Lagos that's why you are arguing what you don't have firsthand knowledge about The fact that you put 2 years old Ambode ahead of Fashola, the most productive governors in the history of Nigeria shows clearly that you are either hallucinating off ganja or you are still stranded in your village and have zero idea what you are talking about.. You can not post more than half NL page of Ambode's achievements, but I can post more than 10 full NL pages of Fashola's achievements.. Wendell Simlin: American woman accuses Reno Omokri of identity theftAn American woman has accused President Goodluck Jonathan’s special assistant on New Media, Reno Omokri, of impersonation and identity theft.
Mr. Omokri had used the now infamous moniker, Wendell Simlin, in his attempt to link the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Lamido Sanusi, to the terrorist group Boko Haram. Back in February 2014, Mr. Omokri wound up in a scandal after digital footprint of an article that tried to link the spike in Boko Haram attack to the suspension of Mr. Sanusi as CBN governor was traced to him. Mr. Omokri allegedly used the pseudonym, Wendel Simlin, in the article circulated to bloggers and journalists but the document digital signature was identical to previous documents Mr. Omokri had sent to PREMIUM TIMES.
The Califonia- based woman, Deborah Campbell, told Sahara Reporters in a series of emails and telephone conversation that her son, based in Hercules, California, is the real Wendel Simlin. She explained that she is married to Mr. Omokri’s brother-in-law and that the president’s aide exploited the relationship to perpetrate forgery.

Politics › FG Pays 70 Construction Companies N63.12bn. Fashola by aresa(op): 5:49am On Jul 31, 2016 |
The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, on Friday said the Federal Government had paid 70 construction companies the sum of N63.12bn for works done in the first quarter of 2016.
He said the payment had prompted the various firms to move back to their various construction sites, adding that over 5,000 workers sacked by the firms had also been recalled. Fashola, in his speech at the Nigeria Infrastructure Advisory Forum in London, a copy of which was obtained by our correspondent, told his audience that past governments did not do much with respect to revamping the country’s infrastructure.
He, however, stated that the current administration had decided to change the trend, as it had increased the 2016 budget in order to effectively tackle the inadequate infrastructure in the country. The minister, who also noted that the Nigerian economy was in recession, expressed optimisicim that the country would come out of the situation. He said, “From the N4tn average budget in a time of plenty, this administration sets an ambitious N6tn with a 30 per cent capital expenditure. It pays serious attention to its budget as the article of faith that defines its commitment. Since the budget was passed in May, 70 construction companies got paid N63.169bn for the first quarter in Works ministry alone.
“The response is that in the last few weeks since budget was passed, construction companies that had demobilised from their sites and laid off workers due to lack of payment since 2014, are remobilising to rail, road, power and other construction sites, and are re-calling workers.

Achuwa1: Hope Dangote is making arrangement for crude outside Niger Delta tht he will be refining in his new refinery tht he is building in Lagos. Because u cant be building refinery in Lagos & be loading crude from Niger Delta to refine in Lagos, unless he will be refining crude explored from sw. if Dangote wants crude from Niger Delta he would have built his refinery in SS coz we have other peaceful states of Akwa ibom to build it if he feels Delta state is not safe. we are watching & waiting coz what NDA is doing nw will be small compared with what will happen then if an inch of crude is to be lifted from Niger delta to be refined in Lagos. Again, Niger Delta Avengers blow up NNPC pipeline in Akwa IbomResurgent militant group, Niger Delta Avengers, has blown up a gas pipeline belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation,NNPC, in Akwa Ibom State. The gas pipeline located at Nsit-Ibom council area was blown up by the group at about 11.30pm on Sunday.
http://dailypost.ng/2016/07/25/niger-delta-avengers-blow-nnpc-pipeline-akwa-ibom/ Yes, Akwa Ibom is very safe alright... Oil is an international commodity selling for the same price per barrel so of what relevance is ND oil when in fact it could be sourced from anywhere at the same price? Illiterates.. |

xandy84: I was born and lived my college days in Nigeria and I was once of your opinion until I live somewhere else. The system has to work for people can think straight and profess solutions and take the nation to greater height. A situation you don't know where your next meal is coming from is not a situation to think. A situation everyday you go to work seems like your last day is not a situation to think. We need to sit down as a nation and talk about the basic. The economy and the national in general needs to be restructure into a more sustainable way. All the developed nations we admire faced the same situation, but they made lemon water out of lemon, they get creative and proffer solutions to their problems government or no government. They say necessity is the mother of invention, but the average Nigerian youths want to be spoon fed without using their God's given brain. Inventions and solutions emanates out of necessities and mot the other way around.. It's the same situation where some useless governors begged the FG for common bridge for 30 years while their mates in other states are building their own bridge in no time. They beg for road, they beg for airport, they beg for every damn thing when in fact they collect taxes and allocations from their people.. FG is not your daddy and progress and development is our collective responsibility, not just the FG. |

tiwiex: Nice response. Dangote does not operate in a sane environment. As a matter of fact Dangote worsens everyone's opportunity to compete and survive. I find him a terrible example of a role model. I won't be surprised if over 50% of Nigeria's bank credit goes to one man. Which country does that? The VP said imagine. Did they imagine d impact of the power tariff increase on our well being? People owe as much as 40k a month for power and he says imagine. U can't plan a day for business as our currency depreciates daily. A lot of people (including Dangote) are probably converting a good chunk of money to dollars to reduce losses.
One good thing I can pick from the VPs comment is that they have run out of ideas and need epp. He just said it with Lagos sense.
The rate at which the youths are relocating is alarming now. There is no time to imagine. We have our lives to live. If u don't play politics and u have a better opportunity outside Nigeria, stop imagining and take it. We have to make our lives count oh. Dem pikins no dey Nigeria oh. What's stopping other Nigerian billionaires from competing? He carved out his own niche and doing what many of your looting and stealing billions refused to do ad his actions alone gives hundreds of Nigerians monthly paychecks and bread on the table. Your PDP uncles and jona looted billions, bought mansions, luxury cars and other rubbish without creating a single job and they are still role model.. Your PDP uncles and jona looted billions, bought mansions, luxury cars and looted all the funds they budgeted for our 4 refineries while we suffer and stand in line endlessly for fuel, but they did not build 1 refinery. Dangote's refinery alone is going to erase that problem for good with many more left over for export. Only crooks, corrupt and incompetent people are your role model.. |
