Who is debating with you where shoprite came from and who cares where its from anyway?

The governor attracting investments and creating jobs and tax generating base is what's commendable.

Zik like many African rulers had a major character and integrity problem. At the root was his self-concept or self definition(the way one sees oneself). He saw himself in his own words as a "Beautiful Bride" for the highest bidder as well as indispensable. The former executive president of Nigeria, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, a mild mannered man captured it well when he told Zik during the 1979 election campaign: "when you switch husbands one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight times, you are no longer a beautiful bride but a harlot." Zik was a weather vane-go where the favorable wind blows
Reminds me of the quote above..

This is def the most comedic thread I've read in awhile.

The disgraced and discredited protection seeker switches sides every second of the day and every day of the month and this is the saddest and the most laughable switch ever..

How can fashola a lawyer be handling Power, Works and Housing.
- Buhari should hand over that Power to another person Or did he set him up to Fail?
Fail like how when in fact he delivered in the same sector as the governor of Lagos state.

1. The fact that he's a lawyer is meaningless and irrelevant.

2. Fashola the Lawyer built 5 power plants in less than 8 years.

3. Fashola the Lawyer built more housing than any leader in the history of Nigeria

4. Fashola the lawyer built more infrastructures than any government in the history combined.

5. Fashola the Lawyer delivered more infrastructures in less than 8 years than 16 years of PDP administration

6. Fashola the Lawyer built the best and the most sophisticated bridge in Nigeria and West Africa i less than 3 years while your FG after 30 years still couldn't build a small and ordinary 2nd Niger bridge.

Fayose is yet to commission 1 single project or do anything significant

Fayemi commissioned roads, waterworks, 300 bed hospital and even the state house of assembly building below was built by Fayemi.

OK thanks for the correction. You just helped me to buttress my point. Government has no business being in the driver's seat.

PAN is no longer interested in doing business and APC wants to save face by shouting acquisition.... Reversal of Auto policy has claimed one of many victims. Good night Peugeot..
I did not buttress your point, I basically corrected you and you have no idea per how the government intends to participate in this company apart from the fact that they own major shares in the company.

In the USA during the recession when the U.S. automakers went bankrupt and almost collapse, the US government bought them up with taxpayers money.

The companies are back in business, stronger and making money. The government sold it's shares and made a lot of profit money on behalf of the US taxpayers.

You have your no clue where the government of kaduna is going with this company so stop the needless assumptions and premature conclusions...

-says; “DSS going beyond its constitutional duties”

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has declared that even if the State was invaded by one million armed men of the Department of State Service (DSS) on the order of President Mohammadu Buhari, the government and the people of the State will never be intimidated to surrender governance of the State to political desperadoes, whose four years reign destroyed the economy of the State.

The governor, who said the DSS under President Buhari was operating beyond its constitutional mandate, added that “the government of Ekiti State may have to reconsider the usefulness of men of the DSS in the government house and other institutions of the State government.” -

In a release issued on Sunday and signed by the Special Assistant to the governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said the All Progressives Congress (APC) led Federal Government was pursuing a clandestine agenda of truncating democracy in Ekiti State and other Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) controlled States like Rivers and Bayelsa. -

Have a stake is different from acquiring.

Dangote has stake in Arsenal but he has not acquired Arsenal. Usmanov has 30% stake in Arsenal but he has not acquired Arsenal.

Acquisition leads to ownership which leads to government control. They determine how the business is run. Abramovich owns Chelsea and he hires and fires...

It does not matter whether the owner of the PAN franchise is a French or a Fulaniman, what matters is that government would buy over the control of the business. I see a money stealing/ wasting conduit ...
Controlling Interest

Fifty percent plus one ownership of the stock in a publicly-traded company. This gives the person or company with the controlling interest outright control of the company's operations, especially the election of its board of directors. Some investors with controlling interest are not involved in the daily operations of the company, but most are. Indeed, an individual person with controlling interest is often the company's founder. The person or company with controlling interest is called the majority shareholder.

http://financial-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Majority+interest
Stop confusing yourself, you are a owner regardless your level of interest in any company, the fact that you bought some shares in that company makes you a owner and in the case of Kaduna state, we are talking about majority interest which gives the state government total control of the company, they get to make decisions, dictate directions and enact changes.

Kaduna state government is in the driver seat. PERIOD.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna says the state has concluded plans to acquire the majority shares of the comatose Peugeot Automobile of Nigeria, Kaduna.
Mr. El-Rufai said this at the ongoing Kaduna international Trade fair.
According to the governor, the state had already submitted its interest to Assets Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON) which manages the liabilities of the company.
“Our hope is that when we acquire the majority share of the company, we will restructure it to operate to full capacity of assembling between 90,000 and 100,000 cars yearly.
“We have the support of PAN as well as the government of France in this drive.
Mr. El-Rufai said PAN is a critical partner in Kaduna state’s industrial history, and now has gone down from assembling 90,000 cars per annum to merely 200 a year.
“We are determined to bring back all industries related to Peugeot established in Kaduna as part of plans to ensure that every youth in Kaduna State has something doing,” he said

lookandlaff:
He is simply creating problems for his successor. Dont be surpriseed if in ten years that school is run down, I can bet you in 10 years the airport he is building will also be run down. Aregbe is a man with a poverty mentality, people like him should not be in govt, dont get me wrong better him than Omisore. Ibadan has an airport (that is hardly viable) if a town like Ibadan cannot justify an airport, why does Osogbo need an airport.... just so that the poverty mentality in him can brag that Osogbo an airport....airport for who? When you embark on all these white elephant projects that aren't viable, you make life hard for your successor and ultimately for yourself but his myopia cant see it. He may get praise today but ultimately when his projects fail, he will be ridiculed. Great leaders think and embark on projects that are sustainable, not just a project for show and popularity. There is a reason why Awolowo's projects; Liberty stadium, NTA ibadan, OAU Ife, Cocoa house are still viable and standing today....planning!!! Odua Investment company is still paying dividends on it's various investments around the world (they own propertires in England for instance) to all former members of the old western state till today.

Aregbe introduced free feeding in schools, has it not failed? Because he couldn't pay for it!! If he were a thinking man, shouldn't he have brought in agric investors to farm tha vast untapped land in Osun and provide the food that the state would buy for it's feeding programme (ready market for investors), the investors would provide jobs for his people, the jobs plus the taxes from the investors would pay for his free feeding programme, so that it's a win-win? But as the typical brain-fart of a governor, he spends first and then retrench later!! A lot of governors are finding out that it is easy to spend than to earn, any idiot can spend, a true leader spends what he can earn or spends to bring you future earnings. A true leader thinks about how everything is linked together, there is the story of how Awolowo said if I educate my people, they will read newspapers and newspapers will sell more papers and employ more people and pay more taxes and he was ultimately proved right. You just dont embark on projects just to look good in the short term.
[/s]

Fear of failure or hoping other people fail or even hoping what they build crumbles is not any kind of excuse not to be productive and leave something for the next generation.

Hoping he fails is not a credible argument and it doesn't change the fact that he left something behind unlike the people you support and call your hero with nothing to show or hand over to the next generations.

No matter what, what he built and left behind in mortar and stone remains forever...
