kinharold:1. Investing money on roads and road repairs is not the issue here, the issue is another mode of transportation that saves time, saves money, improve productivity, environmentally friendly and general modernization of the transportation system which every Nigeria should be in favor and fully supportive of. 2. Such projects are not built and finished singularly, they are done in phases so saying it doesn't each this and that places sounds a little bit shortsighted. You start from somewhere and it's up to the man or woman after you to take it to the next level till it reaches every corner of the state. 3. Fashola started Lagos Metro Rail and didn't even finish the first phase, but are Lagosians crying and moaning because it won't take them to Badagry or Ikorodu or is Ambode saying he won't touch it because it can not take people to every corner of the state or because when people take it, they still have to take taxi from here to there? 4. It's a very absurd argument. You start from point A, then go to point B till you reach point Z even if it consumes 30 years to reach point Z. Rome wasn't built in a day, they started from somewhere. 5. At the end of the day, you end up with less bad roads, little or no money wasted on road repairs because you now have your population patronizing the metrorail, less cars messing up your roads, less pollution from toxic fumes, less road and deadly accidents, less hospitalization because of accidents simply because metrorails are almost 100% accident free and needs very little maintenance. The governor is obviously a man of very low intellect just like many across the country and this issue exemplifies his low intellect, irresponsible, crude and crass behavior. Also shows that he's void of vision and incapable of formulating anything better than the same petty political fixations and enemy syndrome at the expense of the people of the state. Jakande who started the first Lagos Metro rail 30 years ago was a visionary leader, Fashola who rekindled and restored the project remains a visionary leader because it's the right thing to do, he didn't run away from it because the state lost money on the project 30 years ago, it is the future and leaders just be futuristic and always aspire for greatness. Amaechi also remains a visionary leader for starting this project because it's the future of transportation, good quality of life and modernization. Amaechi delivered more infrastructures than all the states in that region combined including Akpabio with the largest state budget in Nigeria. Akpabio built a ordinary football field, but Amaechi built a whole sports complex with olympic style and FIFA ratted stadium, swimming pool, boxing court, tennis court, basket ball court and so on Amaechi was the only governor who built a major olympic ratted and the only state sports complex in Nigeria. Amaechi built more and the most modern schools in Nigeria and than the rest of the country Amaechi built more health centers than any government in the history of Nigeria Amaechi built roads, bridges and flyovers Only Fashola in Lagos state can match his record pound for pound.. I do understand the hatred, political pettiness, shallow thinking and myopic sentiments clouding people's mentality including the governor, but Amaechi's record remains unmatched and Wike just revealed than he's no match for Amaechi and can never be visionary or take that state to the next grand level. This is what the man is basically telling us. What a sad shame... |
tuniski:And you know he failed becaus it's already 2019? Unintelligent loser... |
kinharold:I hope and pray people like you don't get to be governors or in any position to make irresponsible and reckless decisions.. Company or individual to be part of that project. IT HAS COMPLETELY NO economic value to port Harcourt and Rivers state. Please, visit the location, check and ask questionsAny mode of transportation that can move people from point A to point B has more than economic value. People leaving okada, taxi and other road based transportation in favor of the metro rail means less stress on the road, less damage and money spent repairing and maintaining the roads has significant economic value, you are just too shortsighted just like the clueless governor. Where is the sense and wisdom in spending money repairing and maintaining roads instead of building metro rail to move more people easily, faster with less stress and maintenance. Riding the metro saves you time, energy and money so it has significant economic value The metro rail is environmentally friendly because it doesn't generate dangerous fumes and dust like cars, okada and so on, meaning less people getting sick or going to the hospital wasting time and money. Metro reduces road accidents, needless deaths and money wasted on hospitalization. That's a combination of health and financial benefits It was just a drain pipe. No, it's a visionary and laudable project that Wike should be very proud of and take to the next level.. If you think otherwise, then thank God Amaechi is the Minister of Transportation; let recommend it to the FG for a takeover or look for private investors. No, politics aside, that project no follow... we all know it.We are talking about this because you, your kind and the petty governor can not put politics aside and the what's best for his people. It's a state project so what's the FG got to do with it.? Fashola left the metro rail for Ambode to continue and it's up to ambode to take it to the next level even though amobde himself can not finish the other lines and whoever after him must continue till the metro rings around the whole of Lagos state from badagry to epe, ikorodu, lekki and beyond. And when it's all said and done, we won't be spending money fixing roads, polluting the atmosphere and so on.... You obviously don't know the meaning of economic value... You go to foreign countries and marvel at such things, but when it comes to your own country, you hold yourselves back, you deny yourself development and modernity all because of hatred, pettiness, tribalism, politics and ignorance... What I see here mostly is ignorance, shallow thinking and gross shortsightedness... |
[s] yaki84:[/s] I just wonder why you unintelligent and can't formulate good argument ignorant people pull Osun out of your anus every second as if your life and last breath depends on your ability to spew osun out of your clueless mouth. You should have asked your ignorant self if your poor villages in SE and Akwa Ibom's huge allocations and oil money prevents owing salary just like Osun state, the same Osun that delivered more projects than akpabio and all your SE villages combined... Akwa Ibom, Rivers, others owe workers despite receiving highest Excess Crude moneyYou ignorant illiterate and trolls really need to shut up sometimes... |
cashreport:You and the ignorant, petty, irresponsible and reckless governor must have missed the fact that other modes of transportation like this metrorail relives pressure on roads, reduces road traffic and stress, reduce and prevents road damage and constant need for road maintenance, it's environmentally friendly, it's faster and get you to your destination which increases human productive hours and saves money and so on and so on. Regardless how you feel about the project and the initiator, it remains a visionary project. The silly, short sighted and petty should set aside his silly and misguided ego and finish the project, improve on it and take it to the next level, this is what sensible and responsible leaders do. Letting the people's money go down the drain because of his ignorance, ego, crude and low grade thinking (Like many people on NL) is not only foolish, it's idiotic, abdication of responsibility and criminal.. |
This is the most reckless and irresponsible statement ever by any public official. Who do you think you are hurting by not touching or finishing the project? Amaechi or your own people? This is what you get when you vote in low mentality, crude, crass and irresponsible people to represent you. What a damn shame... |

jamjo:And your essay altered the fact that they've spent N23 billion on that airport since 2009/9 years and still nothing to show for it when on fact they could have built 2 new better and jumbo jet capable airports with change leftover with the same N23 billion. You can argue with yourself all day about who this and that or when this and that was doen, fact remains that N13 billion on ordinary terminal is more than enough to built a new and better airport. New and better Dutse international with 3.6 klm runway and capacity to fly and land jumbo 747-400 cost only N11.5 billion and the N23 billion wasted on on this old and still obsolete airport remains more than enough to build 2 Dutse international... https://i.imgur.com/iymJAoI.jpg ^^^^^^ That's a 747-400, the largest 747 jumbo jet at Dutse airport. Enugu airport can not land this plane with the wasted N23 billion. Talk about penny wise pound foolish ARGUMENT... |
This man passed the largest state budgets in Nigeria, even more than Lagos state, but after 8 years in office, all he delivered are a few roads, flyover, 1 library, one football field, 1 cinema and 1 cinema. After the roads and flyover, this man did not deliver more than 4 projects after 8 years and the largest state budget in Nigeria.. You can not help but ask what happened to the all that money.. This is one man I'd love to see locked up for good. |
Manufactured tales on iPoD blog posted on NL as usual for dissemination and missinfomation. Sadly, NL is always a willing tool to misinform Nigerians. |
jamjo:1. The question you should be asking yourself is why N13 billion just to refurbish ordinary terminal. We are talking about refurbish and not construction from scratch when in fact N13 billion is more than enough to build a better and modern airport from scratch with even better terminal and longer concrete runway... 2. The total amount wasted on that airport so far starting from 2009 is N23 billion and the airport is still crap that foreign airlines are running away from... 3. You really need to stop the blind and irrelevant comparisons with American airports since this is not about just flooding, it's more about spending N10 to fix that situation and the job was never done, the airport still flood and the runway still doesn't t have ILS/Instrument landing system. Or huge amount of money was spent on the American airport you are talking about to fix the runway or address flooding and the job wasn't done and it still floods? Both issues are unrelated.. The new and better Dutse international airport cost only N11.05 billion to build with capacity to accommodate jumbo aircraft with its 3.6 kilometres runway. |
jamjo:What you should have said to yourself after looking in the mirror.... |
Quality is always better than quantity.. |
theshadyexpress: In December 2009, the airport was closed temporarily for work to commence and those wishing to take the route were diverted to Sam Mbakwe Airport Owerri. This work spanned the period when Mr. Babatunde Omotoba was minister till when Fidelia Njeze took over. Therefore, the process of upgrading the Enugu International Airport was kick started by late Yaradua and N4.13 billion naira was approved by the FEC and released for the work to commence.= N10 Billion for runway.. On the new International terminal for which he performed the Foundation Laying ceremony, Goodluck Jonathan said the project, to be built at a cost of about N13 billion will provide for 500, 000 international passengers and provide Enugu and the South East region not only “a modern, efficient, functional, safe and secure gateway, but most importantly a prestigious edifice that will offer a befitting welcome and goodbye from the region and Nigeria”N13 Billion for terminal.. N10 + N13 billion = N23 billion. Now, kindly get lost with your olodo can't read, comprehend or do simple arithmetic self... |
obailala:He's silly noise about Eko Atlantic was a reflection of his own ignorance and tribal stupidity because EA is a private project and prvately funded. |
theshadyexpress: On the new International terminal for which he performed the Foundation Laying ceremony, Goodluck Jonathan said the project, to be built at a cost of about N13 billion will provide for 500, 000 international passengers and provide Enugu and the South East region not only “a modern, efficient, functional, safe and secure gateway, but most importantly a prestigious edifice that will offer a befitting welcome and goodbye from the region and Nigeria”http://pointblanknews.com/pbn/news/president-jonathan-commissions-remodeled-enugu-airport/ You should worry about your own ignorance, shallow, can't read and comprehend and warped mentality first.. |
theshadyexpress:We know she was given N13 billion to refurbish common terminal when Dutse, a better and modern airport with better facilities and larger runway that can fly and land jumbo jets was started and completed with just N11.5 billion. The N23 billion spent on this still obsolete airport is more than enough to build 2 better airports with modern facilities and longer runway.. I do understand your usual tribal and clannish need to defend anything by any means necessary, but not obvious absurdities and needless fleecing.. |
theshadyexpress:They don't have to tell you anything in the report to arrive at that conclusion... What she's denying is the contract for N10 billion to re-do the runway which was never done or poorly done, but she is conveniently dodging the N13 billion she was given to refurbish enugu airport terminal... N10 billion + N13 = N23 billion. |
obailala:Sadly for them, they pick and chose when and who to praise when it suits their tribal worries... |
[s] theshadyexpress: i pray you dont cos osun state that you gave all your time is now the worst state in the south west a failed state. pls oooh dont invest your time on me i take God beg you[/s] I don't waste my time on ignorant and unintelligent people like you.. |
[s] theshadyexpress:[/s] I don't waste my time on ignorant and unintelligent people like you.. |
jonhemma11:She's deflecting the N10 billion contract award for the runway which was truly awarded before her tenure while staying silent about the N13 billion she was given to refurbish the terminal when in fact the same N13 billion was more than enough to build a bigger and better airport from scratch with longer and better runway. Either way, she contributed to the lousy state of that airport and looking at that terminal, I don't think she spent more than 1 billion on that terminal.. All in all, N23 billion in total is down the drain.... On the new International terminal for which he performed the Foundation Laying ceremony, Goodluck Jonathan said the project, to be built at a cost of about N13 billion will provide for 500, 000 international passengers and provide Enugu and the South East region not only “a modern, efficient, functional, safe and secure gateway, but most importantly a prestigious edifice that will offer a befitting welcome and goodbye from the region and Nigeria”http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/09/fg-approves-n106bn-for-construction-of-new-airport-terminals/ |
jamjo:1. You admitted that N10 billion was spent on the same airport in enugu before oduah 2. You also claimed that after the first N10 billion back in 2019, Oduah was then given N13 billion to refurbish a common terminal even though the N13 billion was more than enough to build a new and better airport from scratch with better and longer runway. 3 Now we are talking about N10 billion + N13 billion = N23 billion 4. So if better and modern Dutse international airport cost N11 billion to build, it means the N23 billion total spent refurbishing enugu airport was more than enough to build 2 modern and up to date international airport like Dutse international airport. 5. Now, after spending or looting N23 billion, Enugu airport is still not up to standard, still get flooded and still can not fly or land jumbo aircrafts, foreign airlines still won't fly in and out of enugu airport because of bad runway and not up to standard... So exactly what are you defending here? You obviously are the one with mediocre thoughts and mentality.. |
safepassage2015:1. It doesn't matter where in the world airports get flooded, fact remains that something is wrong somewhere from lack of proper drainage system or shoddy construction work that should be addressed as a matter of urgency. 2. When airports in better parts of the world get flooded and they spent tons of money to fix the problem, they fix it for good, unlike in Nigeria where they spend billions to arrest such situations and the situation remains the same because somebody did a lousy job, didn't do anything or just embezzled the money via corruption. 3. When next you come up with such comparison, please make sure you show us where billions was spent to fix flooding airports and the situation remains the same. Please I'm not a fool so stop insulting me with goofy analogies and comparisons. When other places spend such huge amount to address problems, they get good results, not lousy results and the same problems.. 4. Do you mind explaining to us why N13 billion was spent on a mare terminal when in fact other states built complete, modern and better airports from scratch that can fly and land jumbo jets for less money? 5.Do you mind explaining to us why after the billions spent on the runway and the mind bugling N13 billion spent on the terminal, this airport in enugu airport still can not land or fly jumbo jets? 6. Do you mind explaining to us why international airlines refused to fly in and out of this airport because Now, Is other airports around the world getting flooded a sane and rational justification for what you have today even with all the huge amount spent...? There is no reason or need to defend anything or excuse this absurdity unless you are telling us to expect the same shameful results from you while in charge or given the responsibility and billions to do the job. |
safepassage2015:https://newsrescue.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/floating-airport2.jpg In sane and rational societies where people are held accountable, they lock up the kind of people you are thanking, I mean the kind of people you trusted with authority and billions of Naira to give you something at least decent, but end up giving you the shameful and disheartening absurdities in the above picture especially when other states built their own new and modern airport with better and up to date facilities for less money. The terrible things tribal and clannish mentality and thoughts do to you people is very destructive and crippling.. |
jamjo:What's in almost obsolete enugu airport that's not in Dutse airport. Dutse airport is not an international on paper, it's real international airport with 3.6 klm runway, probably the longest in Nigeria and caoacity to to land and fly jumbo jet. The proof is in the picture i posted and the airport doesn't flood like enugu. You cam not even compare an almost comatose airport that was refurbished with low standards and still not up to par with dutse that was built from scratch in a modern era and with modern materials and technology. You also can not tell me something is not missing when 13 billion was spent on an ordinary terminal against a new and better airport built for 11 billion from scratchh with longer concrete runway and capacity to fly and land jumbo jets which enugu airport with all the invisible 13 billion can not do. |
This is how he controls his people and get away with his incompetence and total abdication of responsibility. These sily theatrics and stomach games aside, we know this state is poor and broke so no meaningful development of infrastructural progress is expected, but as a leader you know the situation can not and should not remain the same. He should be finding ways with programs and policies to redirect the state financially and economically, he should be empowering them, teaching them how to catch fish instead of feeding them fish.. Sadly, regardless how he leaves office, he's leaving and handing over a stagnant and decayed state with zero improvement. This is nothing but a sad mixure of missed opportunities and stomach distracted populace.. What a tragedy.. |

jamjo:Let's even dispense with the SR billions, N13 billion or less is what other states spend on new airport from scratch including new and up to international standard runway, but the woman you are talking spent N13 billion on a common terminal, this has got to be a sad joke.. The new and better Dutse international airport cost only N1105 billion to build with capacity to accommodate jumbo aircraft with its 3.6 kilometres runway. www.nairaland.com/attachments/1802103_a_jpeg14a53cac5a312f3d1ad4980fec051d42 www.nairaland.com/attachments/1802104_b_jpeg0ffe7dcb11da9a174bea48bd356ea1ba https://i.imgur.com/tvG78ZV.jpg https://i.imgur.com/iymJAoI.jpg ^^^^^^^^^All for N11.5 billion and not the N13 billion Oduah spent on ordinary terminal that's not even on the same level with Dutse Airport.
