Oh thanks for the info, with the information you have given me I have just search from the website of Turkish foreign affairs and finds out that they no longer give visa on arrival to Nigerians, how ever we can apply online for what they call "e-visa" before our travel, my layover is about 6 hours, and the airline has a free tourism service for all interested passengers having at least 6 hours layover...sims like i will apply for the so called e-visa.

Thanks for the info, I'm trilled. Pls lemme know how it goes.....I PMed you

Bros no vex, this dog am seeing here looks like a local dog I bought sum years bk which I was also told was a mix by my vet as at den who brought to ma house nd I jst fell in love wit d dog, few months later, d local traits came out. Well, I avent bin oportuned to own a gsd nd rott mix, so my speculations may be wrong, I ve bin hamering on dis about people asking abt d breed of dier dog, dt all we cn give re speculations. I decided nt to comment on dis thread since because I thought sumbody oaught to ve brought out dis point abt requesting to see d parents first to determine d breed of d dog. Bt since no one did, I am telling u nw, ask for d parents of dis dog b4 u pay, if d pup is rily a rott nd gsd mix, u wuld see it in d parents dt either d male or female culd be d gsd nd vise versa d rott. One way I ve devised to knw local dogs as tym ve passed is dt local dogs commonly ve whit nails, Note: oda foreign dogs culd ve white too bt its more common in local dogs unlyk most foreign wit black nailsm secondly local dogs ve dis birth mark in dier belle sumtin lyk a faded black colour so dier belle appears black nd pink unlyk foreign dogs dt re pure pink except d pitbull. So first of all, check d puppy for diz tinz I told u of here nd if it shows dt it culd be foreign by having black nails nd pink tommy, den u shuld request to see d parents. I beliv u shuld be able to identify an adult local dog, because even d smallest, most local child on d street cn differentiate btw a local dog nd foreign even if d local is well fed nd foreign is malnourished. Sorry for d very lenghty comment, I am naturally not a person dt talk much bt wen I decide to, it is usually very very lenghty as I pour everytin out all at once without repeating myself. Nd rememba, all we cn give re speculations including me, best way is to see both parents

Thanks Eveezy for your speculations,Please, I would love it so much if someone share his or her thought on Eveezy comment

Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State has extended his “stomach infrastructure” program to police officers in the state.

Fayose, who had earlier distributed rice, cash and chickens to residents of Ekiti as part of the scheme, is pictured here handing out live chickens to men and women of the police force.

The governor had earlier explained that the stomach infrastructure program was created in a bid to provide welfare assistance to residents of the state. Check out how big the chickens are, they aren't meant for Christmas I guess

Business / Exchange Rate Rising To N180 Per Dollar by aretheytheron(m): 6:41am On Nov 19, 2014
LAGOS—The fortunes of the national currency, the Naira took a sharp turn downwards yesterday as it fell by 270 kobo, with the parallel market exchange rate rising to N180 per dollar from N177.3 on Monday.

Since the beginning of the month, the Naira has fallen against the US dollar by N7.9 at the interbank market, and N10 at the parallel market.

Interbank and parallel market operators attributed this sharp depreciation to restrictions introduced by the CBN to curb foreign exchange demand at the official market. Falling crude oil prices, coupled with depleting Excess Crude Account has triggered palpable anxiety about the value of the Naira. Stocks have also been hit as a result.

Education / Beauty Vs. Brains by aretheytheron(m): 4:44pm On Oct 05, 2014
On Friday October 3, 2014, Ms. Damilare Babajide, a 400 level Student of Faculty of Law at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) was rewarded with a new car alongside other unannounced sumptuous perks as the winner of the 2014 Miss UNILAG pageant.

The reward for the beauty pageant was far cry from the reward given to the winner of the university debate competition last month.

On September 10, Olaitan Zainab, a 200 level student of Political Science who emerged from a rigorous academic debate competition was handed a sum of N100,000 with a laptop computer.

The fiery debater, 18, was handed the package of a laptop and a cash prize of N100,000 by the university Vice Chancellor, Professor Rahman Bello.

Last year, the winner of the university debate, Ms. Mary Adegunloye, was given a cash prize of N50,000 with a laptop computer. Sources familiar with management organizers told SaharaReporters that the paltry sum of N50,000 would be repeated this year, but criticisms of some staff and student leaders on the campus prompted an increase of N50,000.

In addition, the management was also persuaded to give runners-up in the debate competition a sum of N50,000 each, although this was not done in the previous year.

Receiving her car and gifts today, Babajide, who emerged Miss UNILAG, was presented officially by the office of the Directorate of Student Affairs (DSA).

SaharaReporters could not immediately confirm what the other perks were, and particularly what the cash reward was, but the winner told our TV crew in an interview that the sum is "encouraging".

Reacting to the disparity of gifts made to winners of both the debate competition and beauty pageant, some students on the campus said the measly gifts to winners of academic competitions compared to the sumptuous packages to winners of beauty pageants will definitely affect the morale of students in the course of their studies.

Politics / Shekau Speaks In New Video Says “here I Am, Alive" by aretheytheron(m): 1:34pm On Oct 02, 2014
Boko Haram leader dismisses claims of his death in new video

Kano – Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau dismissed Nigerian military claims of his death in a new video obtained by AFP on Thursday and said the militants had implemented strict Islamic law in captured towns.

“Here I am, alive. I will only die the day Allah takes my breath,” Shekau said, adding that his group was “running our… Islamic caliphate” and administering strict sharia punishments.

Abubakar Shekau, Boko Haram leader and Alex Badeh, Chief of Defence Staff

Nigeria’s military said last week that Shekau was dead and that a man who had been posing as the group’s leader in the videos had been killed after fighting with troops in the far northeast.

Security analysts and the United States questioned the credibility of the military’s claim.

The new 36-minute video showed Shekau, in combat fatigues and black rubber boots, standing on the back of a pick-up truck and firing an anti-aircraft gun into the air.

Standing in front of three camouflaged vans and flanked by four heavily armed, masked fighters, he then speaks for 16 minutes in Arabic and the Hausa language widely spoken in northern Nigeria.

There was no indication of where or when the video was shot.

The heavily bearded Shekau, who appeared to be the same as those in previous clips, said the military’s claim that he was dead was propaganda.

“Nothing will kill me until my days are over… I’m still alive. Some people asked you if Shekau has two souls. No, I have one soul, by Allah,” he said, apparently reading from a script.

“It is propaganda that is prevalent. I have one soul. I’m an Islamic student.

“I’m the Islamic student whose seminary you burnt… I’m not dead,” he added, apparently referring to the destruction of the group’s mosque in the Borno state capital, Maiduguri, in 2009.

There have been two previous claims by Nigeria’s security forces that Shekau was dead — once in 2009 during unrest in Maiduguri — and again in 2013.

Following each previous claim Boko Haram has issued denials in video messages.

Elsewhere in the new video, the militant leader said the group had implemented strict Islamic law in the towns that it had captured in recent weeks.

“We are running our caliphate, our Islamic caliphate. We follow the Koran… We now practise the injunctions of the Koran in the land of Allah,” he said.

The group also claimed to have shot down a Nigerian air force jet that went missing nearly three weeks ago.

An air force spokesman said the jet was missing.

“For any group to claim they shot it down is mere propaganda and rubbish,” Air Commodore Dele Alonge told AFP.
