Donmarrius: I had thought Awo(Toad),is that the man, with indepth lust for power,to the point that he drank Otapiapia, and died, when it becomes obvious he can't get it!.

If you are a student of history, you will surely acknowlegde that Ojukwu was rich by all measures, and was also a Governor of the then Eastern region, which a young man of his age, wouldn't have asked more than.

His also made us know that,Ojukwu was rooting for him to be C-in-C,but was advocating for thing to be done in hierachial order.
Hence, your stup1d assertion of lust for power, doesnt hold water.
Bla bla bla bla..... I don't understand a thing from this your jagons.

dozzzybaba: Thief

why dont you include Lagos, Ogun, Abuja and kano?

Why must you ibos forcefully attach yourselves to others? The last time we checked, the Ikwere's in Rivers have rejected you and have refused to be categorised as ibos.

noblezone: Now, that we all are accepting to go peacefully to our respective nations, all this e-wars should come to an end.

Let us discuss the modalities for the long overdue disamalgamation.

For those who argue that there is strenght in large number, on general concept, that will be correct, but in the Nigerian project, the problem is not the number but extreme divergent values, dreams and aspirations.

Our number thus became a cause!

Niger Delta, Arewa, Odua, Biafra and Middle 8elt will make great nations.

I have no tears for Nigeria. After all, our founding father was a criminal named Mr. Luggard.
Thank you my brother from another nation. Let's get over with noise making and move on to the next level.

No more chest beating on Nairaland.

kettykin: How come it has taken Arewa and ijaw youths 44 years to see what ojukwu saw in 1966 in Aburi, my advice to the 2 groups is to go and dust the Aburi agreement and see how Gowon and Awolowo foolishly misled them for a century
Ojukwu did not see anything. The lust for power covered all his sense of judgement. The man wanted power at all cost.

lygn19: ok, in return there was a counter coup, now when d coup happened, while wasnt d so called decree dat changed d regional gove abolished, if it wasnt gud for Nigeria, ok d ppl who staged d coup had been killed, then y turn on d civilian population?...
Why would the millitary who had absolute control return to regional govt? Even at that, the nation still progressed due to the honest millitary leaders it had in Gowon and Murtala untill 1979 when democrazy was restored to the presidential system, and with a lot of oil money, politicians were out of control.
You see the riple effect caused by the Ibo's greed and hunger for domination!
Read the history books to know why the unfortunate attack on the civilian population.

Ibo leaders laid the foundation of this mess we are in the country today.

lygn19: the foundation was laid by ur leaders far back as b4 independence. Ahmadu Bello can testify to that.
After independence, Nigeria was moving to a greater height with the regional govt untill the Igbo majors strucked, then the Ibo general, instead of appointing a new prime minister decided to take over the govt, ofcourse with support of the Ibo acting president. That general refused to prosecute coupist, we all know why, abolished the regional govt, .........you know the rest of the story.

Igbos laid the foundation of injustice in Nigeria.

EasternLeopard: It is not the size or population or resources that makes a nation Super power but the internal love amongst the people and their strong action zeal to be among the best.

The fact is

So many ethnic groups in Nigeria will do all that it takes to hinder others from achieving success.

When Nigeria breaks up, Biafra will catch up with the rest of the world within 20 years. As for others, I have little faith in them achieving anything worthwhile but again I might be veryyyyyy wrong.
Everybody knows the region that love to pull down their own. That ingredient of love you talk about is missing in the heart of Ibos, that is why they blame everyone fore the all their problems but themselves. This country can't move forward when all we do is point fingers as championed by Igbos. The same would likely happen in your Biafra when the Anambra Ibo will begin to see the Imo Ibo as responsible for his woes.
It sucks to be Ibo.

Whatever injustice you errorniously believe the north has done, the foundation was laid by the Biafrans. It all started in 1966.

Idrismusty97: That is why i am strongly supporting a one Nigeria. Our influence would be felt worldwide as an entity. Our economic prowess is manifesting. The first black skinned country emerging as a superpower. We are African last hope! I prefer each regions in Nigeria becoming an "Autonomous republic" rather than a separate country. We must keep our name, Nigeria! No matter the difference, no matter the circumstances. Alas! This can not be feasible as long as there are people out there who would blame a whole tribe, religion for an act committed by a few. As long as there are people who would choose the option of "Ethnic Profiling". I am afraid one Nigeria is no longer feasible, i have lost all hope. Let us go our separate ways. Everyone should keep their resources to themselves. Everyone should focus on making his/her new country an envy of many others.

The good thing about the separation is that it would let everyone discovered their hidden potential. No countries that splits would ever want to be less developed than the other. They would be rivalry within the 3 new countries and that would be healthy for them. Just like Pakistan, India and Bangladesh, North and South Korea, Serbia, Bosnia & Croatian etc No countries that are product of separation will ever want to be ridiculed. It would be a shame if you separate and can't stand on your feet. A cold war will emerge between these countries. If Biafra launch one satellite, Arewa would launch two. Like i said before this rivalry would be good for all the countries. Nigeria is know for its porous borders but not any more! After the separation a fly won't be able to cross from the South to the North and verse versa. Our borders would be far secured than that of North and South Korea.
Well said. This is the truth that must be told.

Ijaw youths: we’re ready for dissolution
Posted by: Mike Odiegwu and Bolaji Ogundele in News 2 mins ago

The Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) said yesterday that it was prepared for the dissolution of Nigeria.
The youths noted that Nigeria was long overdue for division, insisting that oil wealth was the only cord binding the country together.
The statement followed calls from northern youths that Nigeria should be dissolved peacefully.
The Ijaw youths said their northern counterparts spoke when they visited the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II.
But IYC, in a statement by its spokesman, Eric Omare, said: “To the IYC, this call by northern youths has vindicated our age long position that the only thing holding Nigeria together is the petrodollars from the Niger Delta.
“By this call, it is now clear that the moment the oil wells in the Niger Delta dry up, Nigeria would cease to exist.
“We also welcome the call by northern youths for northerners in the South to return home within two weeks,” he said.
The IYC statement called on Niger Deltans and southerners living in the North to return home.
“The IYC wish to strongly call and warn Niger Deltans and southerners in the North to take this call very serious.
“The IYC calls on Niger Delta governors and other southern governors to accommodate and take care of southerners who would return home. We call on Niger Deltans to be vigilant in the coming days, the statement said.
