Op... I can't recall how many times i have seen that guy in that same spot begging for money, not once and not even ten times. He is always there kneeling down and begging for money from people who are waiting for the traffic light pass them. Please ignore him whenever you come across his likes there. He is also not alone there although i haven't been seeing the second guy lately. Again there're so many hausa's about seven to eight yrs old within that area begging for money and at night some of them count their earnings which is compressed inside poly-bag. I used to see them all the time beside the over head-bridge stairs. If few cripple can think of selling pure-water, tissue paper, cotton wool, pencil, marker, bottle water and so on just for them to earn something even if it is little, then that guy don't have any excuse to venture into selling handkerchief to earn him money. How old is he that he can't go to where construction is going on around Atlantic Beach Estate just about 15min walk to the site. There are so many people working there as a laborer and you'll see females carrying head-pan filled with mixed cement up and them. There are still few jobs out there for folks like him if he really wants to work. Stop helping people who will turn to criminal if you stop given them money. Happy Sunday! |
I disagree.. The document(s) you are going to use to get turkish visa is a bit different from what you are gonna use to apply for schenge visa and documents also varies depending on what you're going there to do. If you have the work permit for Turkey just give it a try. By God's willing you will make it and if things doesn't goes as planned then God wants something better for you. I have a contact for Kuwait but it is very expensive and the only job available is cleaning but you'll hardly hear about conflict in Kuwait. I tell you there's no country without there own problem. Good luck. |

Samir Bennis is a political analyst. He received a Ph.D. in international relations from the University of Provence in France. He also holds a Master’s degree in political science from the University of Toulouse I, a Master’s degree in Iberian studies ... "New York – Like everyone, I was saddened by the terrorist attacks that targeted the French capital on Friday night. I was saddened for two reasons: first, because these attacks took place in a country that is close to my heart where I spent one of the most important periods of my personal and professional life, and second, because I was quite sure the authors of these heinous acts were from ISIS, and thus my religion would be blamed by millions of simpleminded people for this tragedy. While I expected to see an outpouring of solidarity with the French people from all over the world, I was quite surprised to see thousands of Moroccans change their profile picture to the French flag. In light of the equally deplorable bombing of Beirut just the day before, people who follow the trend should think a moment before changing their profile pictures to support France. Is a Lebanese life worth less than a French life? Should they not have also shown their solidarity with Lebanon after the deadly attacks on Thursday? Where was their solidarity when Tunisia suffered two horrendous terrorist attacks earlier this year? Do people who now change their profile pictures to the French flag do so out of guilt that a band of criminals hiding behind the name of Islam is behind these horrendous, despicable attacks? Do they change their profile pictures just to be labeled as moderate Muslims? I see no viable explanation for the different reactions, especially given that only 24 hours before the Paris attacks twin bombings rocked Lebanon, resulting in the death of 43 people and leaving more than 200 injured. As I watched events unfold during Thursday and Friday, I saw no expression of sorrow or empathy with the Lebanese people on social media. Neither did I see any American, French, or Spaniard change his or her profile picture in solidarity with the Lebanese people. Lebanon was left to mourn its deaths alone without any international support. But as soon as the Paris terrorist attacks occurred, many people rushed to change their profile pictures with that of the French flag. It is surprising to see how people get easily carried away and simply follow the trend set by the big corporations, such as Facebook, that tell them what they should and should not do. Just because some corporation told them to put the French flag, they followed the “order It is puzzling to see that the same people who now don the French flag, did not do the same when over 1,600 Muslims died in tragic circumstances in Mecca on the Eid Al Adha holiday on September 24. Why did they not change their profile pictures to a picture of Mecca or verses of the Quran to show solidarity with the victims and their families? And why did people in the West not show solidarity with the Mecca victims by changing their profile pictures? I personally love France, and I love the French people. This country holds a special place in my life and will always remain dear to me. I have lived there and I have unforgettable memories there, and also feel deeply sad for what happened to them. I have always stood up to defend it and to explain to people who have never been to France that, despite the stereotypes about French racism, the country is one of the most welcoming countries on earth. I know this based on my own experience, and the likes of Marine Le Pen and Erik Zemmour will never make me change my opinion about this great country. But in our rush to show solidarity with the French people, we should not forget that we as Muslims, have the moral duty to stand in solidarity also with the Palestinians, Lebanese, Iraqis, Syrians, Libyans, and Yemenis whose lives are lost every single day. Not a day goes by without us hearing the sad news of bombings in Iraq or Syria or the killing of innocent Palestinians. These people are living in daily fear for their own lives, and they do not have a minute of respite. People have to be careful not to unconsciously accept that the tragedies that happen in the Arab world are something normal, but when something happens in a Western country it is a disaster with worldwide reverberations. As much as I feel sorrow for the French people, I feel deep sorrow for the suffering of the Lebanese people, as well as for the Iraqis who are paying for the criminal acts of unscrupulous Western leaders such as George Bush and Tony Blair. Should we forget that Iraq, the cradle of civilization, was reduced to nothing, annihilated because of the greed of the likes of Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, and the like? Should we just accept as a normal that over 1.5 million Iraqis died and over 3 million were maimed because of the war imposed on them by Western countries? Are we oblivious of the fact that the Gaza Strip has been under an illegal Israeli siege for the past 8 years, in total disregard of international law and all the relevant United Nations resolutions calling for it to end its immoral siege? Can we accept as something trivial the suffering of the Palestinian people in the West Bank and the inhuman policies adopted by the Israeli government against them? When we forget to remind the international community that there is an acute need to address all the pressing issues affecting many Arab countries, we do a disservice to ourselves, to our religion, and to other peoples, such as the French people, who aspire, as much as we, to live in peace. Meanwhile, we allow the criminals of the so-called Islamic State to have excuses to use in order to brainwash a tiny minority of so-called Muslims and hijack our faith. As Muslims, we have the moral duty to condemn the heinous attack perpetrated by the likes of the ISIS criminals and fight their ideology, but also to remind the international community that there is more of a pressing need than ever to stop the suffering of many Muslim countries, and of the Palestinians. Our memories should be neither short nor selective. We have to show our indefatigable solidarity with the suffering of every people that need our support. Let us not accept a hierarchy between people, nor that the lives of some are worth more than the lives of others. Muslims are not second-class human beings, and the world has to be reminded of this fact. Whenever a human life is lost, whether it is a Muslim, a Jew, a Christian, or a person of any other religious persuasion, the same level of solidarity should be expressed by all of us. We are all equal and should be treated as equals. The life of an American, a French, or a Briton has no more value than the life of a Moroccan, a Lebanese, or a Syrian". www.moroccoworldnews.com/2015/11/172654/why-i-didnt-put-the-french-flag-on-my-profile-picture/ Samir Bennis is the co-founder of and editor-in-chief of Morocco World News. Islamic teaching on tolerance of verbal abuse It is entirely false and totally unfounded to allege that Islam teaches Muslims to murder anyone who verbally abuses their religion, mocks it, or offends their feelings towards their faith. On the contrary, Islam requires its followers to show patience under provocation, and to disregard and ignore the abuse. (Of course, if the abuse contains any allegations against Islam or the Holy Prophet Muhammad which require to be refuted, then these should be answered, but by verbal means only.) Below we give arguments from the Holy Quran and the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad to prove the above points. We are confident that no one can cite any verse of the Holy Quran which contradicts the position set out below. We may preface our discussion with the following saying of the Holy Prophet Muhammad: "The Muslim who mixes with the people and bears patiently their hurtful words, is better than one who does not mix with people and does not show patience under their abuse." (Mishkat, Book: Ethics, ch. 'Gentleness, modesty and good behaviour') What a noble and wonderful piece of guidance, which is so applicable to the modern world in which people of differing faiths have to mix and come into contact so closely! Teachings of the Holy Quran As a general point, it may first be noted that the Holy Quran itself records the accusations made against, and the insults heaped upon, the Holy Prophet Muhammad by his opponents (e.g. that he was insane, or that he fabricated his revelation), and it answers these charges, but nowhere does it require Muslims to inflict any kind of punishment on the accusers. The Quran has itself, therefore, given permanence to these allegations and the replies thereto, obviously anticipating that similar charges would be made by critics in later times. If such abuse or criticism could damage a Muslim's faith, and requires to be silenced by force, why should the Quran itself have quoted so much of it from its opponents' mouths? The Holy Quran tells Muslims: 1. "You will certainly hear much abuse from the followers of previous books and from the idol-worshiping people. And if you are patient and keep your duty -- this is surely a matter of great resolution." (3:185) 2."Many of the followers of previous books wish that they could turn you back into disbelievers after you have believed, but you should pardon and forgive." (2:109) In connection with these verses, it is recorded in the Hadith collection Bukhari: "The Messenger of Allah and his Companions used to forgive the idolators and the followers of previous books, as Allah had commanded them, and they used to show patience on hearing hurtful words." Book: Commentary on the Quran, ch. 16 under Sura 3. Addressing the Holy Prophet, God says in the Quran: 1. "Bear patiently what they say." (20:130 and 50:39) 2. "Obey not the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and disregard their hurtful talk." (33:48) In all the verses quoted above, Muslims are taught to bear their feelings of hurt and anger with patience, and to ignore the abuse. Another verse having some bearing on this subject is as follows: "And if you invite them to guidance, they hear not; and thou seest them looking towards thee, yet they see not. Hold fast to forgiveness and enjoin goodness and turn away from the ignorant." (7:198-199) This directs us that when we have to deal with people who are blindly prejudiced and ignorant, and therefore fail to understand the guidance, we must not give vent to anger, fury and violence against them. We should treat them with forgiveness, do our duty of enjoining simple goodness, and then turn away from them, leaving the matter in the hands of Allah. Withdrawing from company Muslims are told: "When you hear Allah's messages disbelieved in and mocked at, sit not with them until they enter into some other discourse." (4:140; see also 6:68). These verses deal with the case when the religion is being mocked and derided (as distinct from being criticized). A Muslim is required to do no more than to withdraw from such a company, and even that only while the mocking continues, and to actually rejoin the same company when they have changed the subject! How far from ordering Muslims to kill such people! Any criticism underlying the abuse must, of course, be answered. But the response to any sheer abuse, ridicule or mockery is withdrawal of oneself from the company. Some incidents from the Holy Prophet's life 1. A man called Suhail ibn Amar had a voice suited to oratory, and used to employ this talent in making speeches against the Holy Prophet. He was captured by the Muslims at the battle of Badr and brought before the Holy Prophet. A Muslim suggested that some of Suhail's teeth should be knocked out to disable him from speaking well. The Holy Prophet replied: "If I disfigure any of his limbs, God will disfigure mine in retribution". 2. Once when the Holy Prophet divided some wealth among his followers, one man accused him to his face of being unfair and told him: "Fear God, O Muhammad". After the man had left, the following conversation took place between Khalid ibn Walid and the Holy Prophet, as recorded in Bukhari: Khalid: "Shall I strike off his neck?" Holy Prophet: "No, perhaps he is a man who says prayers." Khalid: "There are many people who pray, but what they say is not what is in their hearts." Holy Prophet: "I have not been commanded by God to cut open people's chests to see what is inside their hearts." (Book: Maghazi, ch. 63.) Here a man insults the Holy Prophet to his face, and a Muslim asks permission to kill the man. The Holy Prophet advances the possibility of there being some good in the culprit, but Khalid argues that the man's prayers are only for show. The Holy Prophet then makes it clear that we cannot know about people's motives or sincerity, but have to accept that what they are doing is in good faith. 3. Some Jews, when addressing Muslims, would distort the greeting as-salamu alaikum and say it as as-samu alaikum, which means "death be upon you". When they once addressed the Holy Prophet in this manner, his wife Aisha retorted back in the same words. The Holy Prophet disapproved of this reply and said that God did not like harsh words. 4. Once there were four men who spread an accusation of immorality against the Holy Prophet's wife Aisha. Their allegation was ultimately proved to be false because they failed to back it up with any witnesses. One of the four men, called Mistah, used to receive financial assistance from Abu Bakr, Aisha's father. After this incident, Abu Bakr swore never again to help Mistah. The following verse was revealed to the Holy Prophet on this occasion: "Let not the possessors of grace and means among you swear against giving to the near relatives and the poor and those who had to flee in God's way. Pardon and overlook. Do you not love that God should forgive you?" (24:22) Hearing this, Abu Bakr exclaimed: "Indeed, I certainly love that God should forgive me". (Bukhari, Book: 'Testimony', ch. 15.) He then resumed providing assistance to Mistah, as before. Note that this allegation was not made against just an ordinary Muslim woman, but the wife of the Holy Prophet, and therefore it struck at the holy household at the centre of the religion of Islam, which was required to be a model of purity for all Muslims. In view of this, the forgiveness taught in the above verse becomes all the more generous and magnanimous. Source: http://www.muslim.org/islam/abuse.htm Muslims must be careful and cautioned their utterances. Regardless of who we are dealing with on Nairaland or elsewhere, what i posted here should be enough for any Muslims to move on whenever you read a foul comments about Muslims or Islam. Follow the Prophet Muhammad advice and set your anger free of any hateful words you read on NL about Islam. Don't let their words turn you into something else. If you can not talk patiently or reply in a good manner(s) to whatever comment the Christians, Jews or the free thinkers say about Islam then is best you keep mute or don't read their ill comments further. Please share to other Muslims around the world and like if you have decided to follow Allah's instruction through Prophet Muhammad. May Allah forgive us our sins and count us among those that will enter paradise. Ameen |

excellentmomma:It is non of any body's concern if they are hungry for marriage or if it baffles you they are still falling Mugu for another man. What is sensible to say is: HE IS A DISGRACE TO HIS PARENTS A DISGRACE TO HIS FAMILY A DISGRACE TO HIS FRIENDS A big disgrace to HIS COUNTRY A great disgrace to AFRICA as a whole. They should not have born him. Quoted from rafcrown Many countries see Nigerians as the same all in the name of one or two useless bastard that scammed them. Scam is Scam. Evil is Evil. I don't think calling those victims mugu is fair. You can be a victim too and it doesn't necessarily need to be through internet. It can come in different forms so be careful about how you quickly judge people coz you ain't in their shoe. 1❤ |
