Christianity Etc › Re: Fathers Should Be Corrected by Arostar2023: 11:11am On Jan 11 |
Go and read your Bible before you make comments like this in an open forum. To understand the Bible you need to know the context in which statements are made to be able to interpret those statements correctly. Paul calls himself a spiritual father to the Corinthians ("I became your father through the gospel" and Timothy (1 Corinthians 4:15; Philemon 1:10, "whose father I have become in my imprisonment" . Even apostle John addresses spiritual elders as "fathers" in 1 John 2:13-14, distinguishing them from the "little children" (believers). Dogalmighty17: I don't understand how we have come to accept the brazen disregard for the very instructions Christ gave us. Christ plainly said call no man on earth your father (Matt. 23:9). So anyone going around parading himself as a father in the faith is making a mockery of the message of Christ. |

You cannot compare gun violence in America to bandits and terrorists killings in Nigeria. Gun violence in America is a result of the second amendment, which grants every American the right to bear arms. While banditry and terrorism in Nigeria are a creation of the political class. Hence the difficult in eradicating them(terrorism and banditry). Was it not a Nigerian government (APC) that integrated the so-called "repentant" terrorists into the military? What's it not a top government official that said that a war on Boko Haram is a war against the North? I am not downplaying the role the military is playing in keeping the terrorists at bay, but they can't do much without the politicians making the necessary policies that will enable them win the war. As for the case of Venezuela, it's too early to judge. It's less than 48hrs since Maduro was deposed. While the current government in Nigeria has spend two years in the saddle and already campaigning for 2027 elections. In the case of the later, we can safely judge the performance of the regime and use the past to predict what will happen in the future. Read what your fellow countryman wrote... Mrchippychappy from Nairaland: "He is desperately trying to turn Nigeria into a one party state. The worse president in the history of Nigeria. Very evil and corrupt. People are being slaughtered all over the country and he is afraid of taking a hard stance against terrorism because he doesn't want to loose the vote of the terrorist sympathisers in the North. Meanwhile he's followers say there's nothing wrong because according to them, his wife is a pastor. And these people are supposed to be the most educated in the country " https://www.nairaland.com/8592996/yave-30-governors-yet-not#138021264seunmsg: People die daily as a result of gun violence in the US. Is that enough reason for the opposition in the US to call on China and Russia to violently invade the US and effect a regime change? Is there any country where people don’t die?
And it’s extremely unfair to our security forces who are at the battlefield fighting these terrorists for you to come here and claim that government is not doing anything. That’s an untrue, unfortunate and dishonest claim to make. If FG is to stop fighting these terrorists today, they will overrun the country within 24 hours.
Boko Haram started since 2009 and you want Tinubu who became in 2023 to stop the problem in less than 3 years. How’s that possible? Do you understand the challenges that we face in combatting this insecurity problem? Do you understand the logistics that is required to deploy security to every nooks and crannies of the country? Do you understand the funding that is needed? Do you think your Peter Obi would have done anything better?

What other options does the opposition have in a case like Venezuela or even Nigeria? In Nigeria of today, many are killed daily without the government doing or able to do anything about it. Do you think those human lives that were "wasted" are of less value than yours? You are all about sovereignty while people are being slaughtered like livestocks. If that's not witchcraft and wickedness , I don't know what else it's. In Venezuela,it was all about the ruling party, the military and their cronies while the masses suffer for several years. How do you expect the opposition to thrive in such an environment, where they were emasculated by the ruling class using the instruments of government? My guy forget that thing, na life first, before national sovereignty. Venezuelans abroad are all rejoicing over what happened... And someone in Nigeria is trying to be more patriotic than them. No be juju be dat? seunmsg: Yes, CIA actually infiltrated the Maduro regime but no one can say for certain who and who was compromised.
As for Machado, she’s an unpatriotic sellout who got used and dumped. Opposition in UK offer alternative policy decisions. For your mind na patriot the VP be. Ask yourself how Americans were able to track Maduro like Rubio said. He said they knew where Maduro was, went and what he ate? How was that possible without a top ranking insider? The UK have a shadow government whose job is to put and keep pressure on the ruling party/government. But in Africa, na sycophancy be una trade... you take opposition as a disrespect of your political "god". seunmsg: So, where is Maria Machado, the Peter Obi of Venezuela? I heard Trump said she’s unpopular and incapable of leading the country. She should take her L and suck away into obscurity. She’s never going to become Venezuela president.
That’s what happens to desperate and unpatriotic elements who sell their country for cheap. They can use you when they want to bring down their target but once that is achieved, they will discard you quickly because they can’t trust someone who can’t stand by their country at all times.
Congratulations to Delcy Rodriguez. She stood by Maduro and her country all these and now, circumstances have thrown the leadership of the country on her hands. She’s a patriot and I believe she stand a better chance to defend the interest of Venezuela at this difficult moment. |

Christianity Etc › Re: The Truth Behind The Confusing New Year Prophecies by Arostar2023: 1:31am On Jan 04 |
Go and read your Bible, the moabitess king wasn't the only king to ever sacrificed his son or child. In fact sacrificing their children is a way they worship molech, one of their gods, in those days. So nothing special about what he did. There are even Israeli kings in the Bible that sacrificed their children and that didn't change anything. King Ahaz: He "burned sacrifices in the Valley of Ben Hinnom and sacrificed his children in the fire, engaging in the detestable practices of the nations the Lord had driven out before the Israelites," according to 2 Chronicles 28:3. King Manasseh: He "sacrificed his children in the fire to other gods. He did it in the Valley of Ben Hinnom" (2 Chronicles 33:6) and participated in the sacrificial cult of Molech (2 Kings 21:6). God made it clear that he abhors human sacrifice...so using that sole (difficult to interpret) scripture as a justification for what we do in our days is wrong. judewrites: That's not the scripture I am referring to.
The heathen king offered his heir as a human sacrifice and suddenly something made the Israelites to retreat from him.
Ultimately, evil sacrifices can't stop prophesies, but they can alter or delay it. |

Is the government taxing the government agencies or the Nigerian masses? You should be asking the government in power why the aggressively taxing Nigerians while claiming that Nigerian economy is robust. Richtaiwo: I do not, in any way, support this tax regime. However, whenever this neatly packaged fraud called Pitobi opens his mouth to condemn it, I instinctively suspect there must be something beneficial about the tax that we Nigerians are yet to grasp. At that point, I’m forced to pause… and reconsider.
But wait, did I just read the profound wisdom that “you can’t tax yourself out of poverty”? Interesting. Should we then conclude that Nigeria is officially poor? And if so, how does that square with the earlier sermon from the same handle-mops who confidently assured us that Nigeria can conveniently pay every citizen one million naira monthly?
