You cannot compare gun violence in America to bandits and terrorists killings in Nigeria. Gun violence in America is a result of the second amendment, which grants every American the right to bear arms. While banditry and terrorism in Nigeria are a creation of the political class. Hence the difficult in eradicating them(terrorism and banditry). Was it not a Nigerian government (APC) that integrated the so-called "repentant" terrorists into the military? What's it not a top government official that said that a war on Boko Haram is a war against the North? I am not downplaying the role the military is playing in keeping the terrorists at bay, but they can't do much without the politicians making the necessary policies that will enable them win the war.

As for the case of Venezuela, it's too early to judge. It's less than 48hrs since Maduro was deposed. While the current government in Nigeria has spend two years in the saddle and already campaigning for 2027 elections. What other options does the opposition have in a case like Venezuela or even Nigeria? In Nigeria of today, many are killed daily without the government doing or able to do anything about it.
