I've heard good things about the north and i wish to move there. Now I'm being discouraged by family members on these following grounds,some of them have been up north before:

1.The hausas are very tribalistic.I was told they would readily hire a hausa for any job than hire a non hausa like me.
If they manage to hire me,they will readily place a hausa person over me even though he is not as qualified as I am

2.The peacefulness fluctuates.For sometimes there might be peace,later you might hear killings happening here and there especially towards non hausas(Due to Hausa people's temperaments)

3.They are watching you and waiting for you to mess up.They might attack you if you near their ladies,are against their opinions etc

Please people who have been to the north, how true is this? Cc Arrewa

if you want to move to the north for any work or business move to kano, Gombe, bauchi, or Kaduna... You'll never regret moving to the north

I don't mind that money from South is used to develop the North, as people like pointing out. That's what most countries do. I've never seen a country with the same amount of resources spread all over. You develop different regions with what's available and make the nation as a whole great.

Truth is there are resources in the North that we as a nation have ignored for a while. Many states all over North and South have these resources, and if we were a serious country, we would have paid attention to all of them, instead of focusing solely on oil. This is not the fault of a person from the North, but of Nigeria's leadership (who we have the power to choose, I must point out)

Some materials of interest to me that could be used if we were serious (I'm including middle-belt in this list):

Tin: Jos Plateau
Lead-zinc: Benue (batteries)
Silica: Kano, Jigawa
Uranium: Borno
Iron: Kogi
Gypsum: Adamana
Talc: Niger

For most of us, especially our leaders, we learned this list only to pass exam, and have since forgotten the potential.
