SSpeter: I am can never be God. I don't want any of those memories......My brother should know the truth. He deserves the truth!.....i can't be part of a family with a man that nearly ruined my family Your brother surely needs to know the truth. Maybe if he had known the truth in the first place he would not have gone to the extent of wanting to marry the lady. However, if he still chooses to forgive what happened, it is his choice and it is noble to forgive as well. Send the mail then seat back. And although sending the mail is the right thing to do here but I think you should also forgive the girl's family. Unforgiveness is worst than cancer, it will eat you up. |

Webmasters › Re: Challenges Facing Nigerian Bloggers by arsetalkshere: 3:20pm On Jul 20, 2015 |
The major challenges facing Nigeria bloggers is the believe that these aforementioned challenges are barriers. When I started 8 years back, I was living in Brooklyn and my best friend was named "broke" but these challenges existed, the difference is I did not see them as barriers. They are mere challenges and I had/have a saying, "challenges are the breakfast of champions"
When I started, things were worst than they are now. I worked in cyber cafes. Most Nigerians don't want to suffer a little to gain much. I was working in cyber cafes in a period when EFCC was after yahoo boys. Got embarrassed many times but I am so proud about those period now.
Another big challenge is most don't want to learn but want to make money. I know one very popular internet marketer in Nigeria, he was teaching people how to make money online, teaching what he does not know, he is begging for money now. I won't mention his name here but it shows exactly whats wrong with our so called bloggers/IMers. Many teach how to make money online when they themselves have not been making money online.
People do not want to take their time to learn and they see barriers/problems in everything.
I started with site flipping, I had a transaction of 3999 dollar and there was no way I could use paypal but with a bit of research, I knew I could use escrow.com and it was safer, yes escrow.com wasn't accepting Nigerians ( I don't know about now ) but what does it take me to cross to Benin Republic and get my money? Think outside the box.
Another major problem is people are scared to speak to those who know more than them. AkinAlabi ( If you are reading this, I will remain nameless on nairaland) my oga knows how much I disturbed him back then, I just don't keep quite, because I don't know how to.
Most of the challenges we claim exist are self created. Yes, we have power supply issues, that one is a fact, work from a cafe, the internet is slow, oh well, nothing can be done about it, leave with it.
Social stigma? Hide your identity then reveal it later.
For me, these challengers were even tougher for me, starcomms was beyond my reach and it was the only internet provider thats reliable plus I HAD a bad leg which means I can't seat on a spot for too long but all these didn't stop me.
Go to forums, read from others, focus on a particular area. Do you want to blog? Blog on a particular subject not 5-9 subjects like many do. I was just advising a little boy who came to me seeking advise. Boy is very good and has been useful to him, unfortunately he wants to do too many things at once. It just won't work.
Pick a subject, blog on it till you succeed.
Broken into two parts due to the spam bot. |

Mboi: They said GEJ could not fight corruption but the first step he took which was fuel subsidy removal that would've stopped corruption in oil and gas sector and save Nigeria billions of Naira, Nigerians took to the street and were shouting; stone him! Impeach him! Kill him!. That was where his problem started. Very soon, Nigerians will realise GEJ is the only Nigerian President that puts the interest of Nigeria and Nigerians first before averyother thing. Are you drunk? So you are saying Nigerians should buy their own product at 150 naira per litre simply because the government refused to deal with those milking us dry. Are yourself, GEJ and his government has been shouting of fuel subsidy scam, who was jailed? Name one single person that was prosecuted and jailed. By removing subsidy without building refineries, Nigerians will pay 150 naira or even more per litre of petrol for a long time to come. How is the people supposed to be allowed to suffer for the government's failure? What exactly did GEJ administration do with the extra 20 naira or so accrual from increasing the pump prices? Were are the buses we were promised? Were are the refineries? |
Politics › Re: IMF Advices Nigeria To Remove All Forms Of Fuel Subsidy by arsetalkshere: 10:08am On Apr 19, 2015 |
PassingShot: I have always kicked against removing fuel subsidy because I believe that it is a right of Nigerians to enjoy the so-called subsidy which should never have been if we had done what was required.
If our refineries were working, we will surely not be talking of subsidy or no subsidy.
Given that we failed to make our refineries work, the previous subsidies removed by OBJ and GEJ were not judiciously spent. They were looted.
For all intent and purpose, I do not think Nigerians are completely against removing subsidy if they are sure of getting good deals in return especially when the excess income from crude oil is set aside for developmental projects as witnessed during the PTF era. And to be honest, good returns we will never get until the refineries are repaired. We need competition in the market, that competition can't be gotten until we have fixed our refineries FIRST and then remove subsidy thereafter. |
Politics › Re: IMF Advices Nigeria To Remove All Forms Of Fuel Subsidy by arsetalkshere: 10:07am On Apr 19, 2015 |
1stola: Good. There nothing like subsidy. It's just a way of stealing public fund. If not for the senseless leaders we have. Petrol and other products is not expected to be sold above 40 Naira per litre. Does it even make any sense? When crude oil rose to 155 dollars per barrel, we bought Petrol for N97 Naira, now that it is about 52 dollars per barrel, we are still buying for N87. May lightning bolt fire Obasanjo wherever he is for increasing fuel price from N21 (1999) to N75 (2007) and GEJ too. Wicked old fools. This is the question I keep asking people like Barcanista who keep telling us selling PMS and other products at 40 naira is not possible. How is that? We pay several trillions ( not billions any more ) as subsidy when crude oil price was $150+ per barrel and were buying a litre for N97 now that it now 1/3 less than we were buying ( when we ought not to buy ), we are still paying trillions as subsidy yet we could only get N10 as reduction. How is that? It is not as if there is any significant reduction in amounts paid for subsidy. |

gbl01: GEJ tried and they nearly killed him, will GMB attempt it? They killed him? How is that? You should take him on the refineries he promised to build that he never did. What exactly did he do with the extra 20 naira or thereabout he imposed on us? I thought they were to be used to buy some so called coaches and build refineries? Where are the said refineries about 3 years later? |

He made the decision not to conduct a primary and they ALL AGREED then why blame him for what they all agreed to do? Also, what has primary got to do with this? If they had held a primary, GEJ would have emerged anyway or are you saying the governorship candidates were also handed picked totally no primary at state levels? The truth be told, the failure of PDP was never Mua'zu's. People were tired of them and GEJ's recklessness helped in convincing people beyond reasonable doubt that they want a change. GEJ had too many sins even within PDP. |
