At 11pm last night, I was awoken from sleep when I heard footsteps at the window. There is a curfew at 7pm and at that late hour, it is expected that people are in their various houses. This is not the fist time robbers have attempted to break into my house but this was intense.

I quietly got up from the sitting room floor I was laying on and moved to the bedroom to join my grandmother and baby cousin on the bed.
Gradually, the footsteps heightened and from the room window I could see men standing. My heart sank and I suddenly, I had a hard time breathing. My grandma tried to calm me down and it seemed to worsen.

I wasn't wearing any cloths and I usually sleep and thought of getting something to put on. These robbers sometimes rape girls and it doesn't help to be naked in the first place. That would cause some noise so I decided to forego the thought.

They started to spread out. A number of them moved the front and some went far out to the background. The ones at our window kept talking in whispers. I really couldn't fathom what they were saying as my heart was racing faster than I could ever imagine and suddenly I heard these words 'pass me my gun.'

I think I died! Immediately I turned into a prayer warrior, mumbling incoherently in whatever tongues I could speak. I asked God to forgive my sins, I thought of hiding under the bed or inside my grandmother's wardrobe. But what about her and my cousin of 4years?
I tapped grandma to tell her what I just heard and she assured me to keep calm, my cousin on the other hand was very much asleep. I instantly wished I could turn into a child and be unaware of what was going on in my surrounding.

Taking a pillow I covered my head and put a fingerin each ear. Their voices grew louder and just then, a dog started to bark. I have always hated that dog (and all dogs generally), but I think it helped us.It barked violently from a distance and seized a bit. Then resumed, this time even more and came towards our window, running and barking. I could hear the footsteps of the thieves fading as the dog got near and soon after, there was a heavy downpour; the kind that shook the place.

They went to other people's Windows and probably other compounds.The rate of robbery in some parts of Rivers State is becoming alarming. Needless to say, I am not sleeping at home tonight. Should my heart keep skipping this way, I may have hypertension before 20.

Happy sunday brethren. You might be praying to God for something very essential, might be a job, admission, finances, marriage, fruit of the womb but you dont receive speedily answers and at times you pray for years and it still doesnt work out. Relax there are skeletons in the cupboard you need to fish out that is witholding answers to your prayers. Listen attentively.
Your Life Of Sin - yeah its your life of sin that is witholding your prayer request and God does not hear. You might still be living in sexual immorality, lies, jealousy, covetousness, gossip etc. And you go and kneel down and pray but sorry the prayer cant pass the ceiling.
Isaiah 1 vs 15 -When you spread your hands, I will hide my eyes from you, and when you make many prayers i will not hear because your hands are full of blood. And also in John 9 v 31 says that God hears not sinners but if any man be a worshipper of God and does His will, God hears. So its your sin that seperate God from you so He wont hear your prayers.

Lack of Patience - the Lord Jesus told us to keep on praying and not faint.(luke 18 vs1) this is another reason why people dont receive answers. God's timetable is not like man's own, He needs you to be patient and not rushing Him up. So be patient always whenever you ask God of a request.

Selfish Lust Desires - in the book of james chapter 4 vs 3 says that you pray and ask but you do not recieve because you ask amiss so that you may consume it upon your lust, oh well you ask God of big things that you schedule so that as soon as you receive it, you use it to flex around with the desires of the flesh. God knows your heart and wont give it to you till you repent.

Not Abiding With The Lord - yeah the word of God says in John 15 vs 7- if you abide in me and My words abide in you, you will ask what you want and it shall be done to you.
Have you been praying to God and ask Him of something important? Always abide by praying continually and going to church, study His Word, obey His commandments and praise Him daily and abide continually and you will receive answers to your prayers.

Lack Of Faith and Forgiveness - in mark 11 vs 22 the Lord taught us to have faith in God for whatever you desire when you pray, believe that you receive them shall have them and also forgive so that God may forgive and answer.
These are the reasons you dont receive answers. And you keep on praying but no hope. Obey this steps and receive final answers to your prayers.

I can't forget that in a hurry.I was in SS1 then, on my way back from school one afternoon. I couldn't even summon courage to stand up from the stinking piss I was upon and before I knew it, she rushed over with her friend and they both held me up and immediately got water nearby to help me clean up a little..Damn!! I told her point blank that she was the reason I fell. She smile and apologized..She told me her name "Love"and they just moved to our estate 3 weeks ago and that she sees me when am going to school that her house was two flats from mine and that they were going JAMB lesson...we became friends and she was given all the green light but in me, my interest died in that gutter..Fast forward two years later. She was still trying to gain admission while I was writing my jamb, so I took it upon myself to help her and she passed with flying colours and she did everything for me to date her bou know now......the interest no dey again o......She told me she fell for me since the day I fell inside the gutter...Damn!!!.

Years back before Naija dreamed of GSM, One girl wey I dey toast told me, "If u are serious come and visit me in my village". Na so I mumuishly find my way from PH go the last bus stop in Ubakala, with no address except her first name, Ugadinma (apologies if I get the spelling wrong).

from the bus stop I befriended the guys there with enough palm wine, and the search took off in ernest.

3 girls in the village match the description with the same name I gave and off we went to check them out one by one. But they all turn out not to be the girl.
