A lot of roofs (if considering the roof) these days are not really that strong + how many of us even have reflective roofs (actually it must not be reflective) + for safety reasons, you need account for thicker cables, fuses, etc; + ...

For scientific purpose, can you cite the other costs and tradeoffs?
Cite with proof and maybe you'll help this community to be well informed.

Why is ZN bifacial 610w 108k but Jinko 590w is 125k apart from the fact that jinko is the bigger company and ZN and JA are trying to penetrate the market? Tell us the tradeoffs bifacials have coz you seem to know something we don't know.

Most Bifacials with higher wattage are cheaper than front alone panels. A bifacial of 610w is rated with the front and not the back. With the back you can get 30% above rated capacity. So you can use them on roofs if you want but you'll get more if used on a reflective place that gives the under sun light

Or you get 15kwh same quality from Mrreed for 1.6m only that his has no communication ports and DC breaker, which are not necessary features and cheaper at 1.6m over that of Valto that is 600k costlier with breaker and communication ports. 😭😭. I'm sure you are asking same questions with me about why he can't reduce price too. Only that Mrreed often runs out of cells cuz of people rushing him.

Total cost = 3.1m to 3.8m.

Because I always wondered why Oraimo and many other Brands uses Lythium-polymer (Li-PO) battery type that swells up in less than a year of use. So this also happens to LifePo4 if I get you right? Is it also after or almost attaining their complete cycle count?

Every lithium battery expands and retracts. That's where many builders insists on compression of cells when assembling.
Lithium is very sensitive and will catch fire and explode when punctured. But when mixed with phosphate, it reduces or hinders that fire issue during puncture depending on how the lifepo4 is produced. That's why LFP is safest lithium battery for home.

Yes, lifepo4 will expand and swell if you keep it at high charge for long. That's why it's discouraged to have LFP cells stay at 3.65v or anywhere near it. This is where BMS comes in to ensure you don't let it get there or stay there for long.
Most keep there cells at max 3.5v or even 3.45v so that LFP cells can last for decade+.
No matter what you do, after 5 years for example, if you disassemble the cells you'll see bulges or little belly in the cells. That's normal and they are still very good as long as it isn't exaggerated.

So, when bms is damaged, current won't stop entering the cells and they will swell beyond point of retraction and could explode.

Just LFP packs with swollen or exploded cells due to BMS failure. That's all that have been hitting few LFP packs.
But getting to a point of can't hold charge again after many years, not really for now

Good point to note, however the reason I still recommend is the ridiculously cheap price for what is being offered compared to other so called reputable brands. Even cheaper than most DIY's for 280ah. I think it's a great deal regardless.

Some months back i got 280ah 24v (7.2kw) from mrreed at 850 k... That's cheaper than the fake 300ah that is 280ah from haisic. Only from Valto will same 280ah be costlier than haisic, coz i think his gets to around 1.2 m or so. But that's with a better bms, screen and build over the jbd bms in the haisic. Mrreed still uses same elements (maybe different brand of cells) as Valto but he's still far cheaper, but that's only if he has cells 😢 unlike Valto who always have stock.

i was looking at the ecoflow delta series. i dont know if it will suffice.

If you want to go for 48v which is mostly advised, just overkill it will a 10kwh battery backup and 5kva inverter of your choice, then panels to charge.

If you want to go cheaper, you can go for 24v system and have 7-8kwh backup, 3-3.5kva inverter and panels. But this isn't advised coz tomorrow you may want to add load and you'll stay at home more and you won't have option than to move to 48v to reduce current.

Even your so called DIY cells have brands and are prone to faking too so whats special about DIY at the end. Many dont do good DIY jobs. DIY is stresful and not so scalable.

Nope... The cells are all tested before use. A 280a cell discharges 300a; a 314ah will discharge around 330ah. Signs they are brand new. Just get a reputable seller in China and you'll escape getting bad or harvested cells.

DIY isn't stressful when it's your passion to build. I'm sure you change bulb in your home.. That alone is stressful for some people and the prefer to pay electricians to do it. If you also don't want to do it yourself, pay a good builder to do it for you using cells and bms you trust. Will still be cheaper and far better quality than big brands.

Poor job? Yes.. That could happen. And again that's why you should be sure of what you are doing when building or you pay a good builder to do it for you.

Go to YouTube and channels like offgrid garage and thousands more will let you know how crazy people are for DIY in the western world over any brands.

Lastly we've this poor Nigerian mentality that anything made in Nigeria is poor quality. Lol. Pure self deception.

And i bought 3 of this for a client last year. Even paid 4m for one 😭😭. Just seeing their backup i didn't even need to open inside to know that the cells are undersized.
