That's funny because I could ask why exactly anyone would need the larger Starlink models when the Mini exists.
No one answered my main question which is, is mini tied to a fixed location that i can't move it from Lagos to Benin during same subscription?

You are mocking them.

Go make your life achievement and even if you achieve nothing, at least pray to grow old and have children and grand children
Lol.
You don't even know who you are talking to apart from my moniker. You just made assumptions of what I am not and you thought you really ate with that comment.

No, you will need to pay 57k to activate it. If you're in an area where activation charge is mandatory, you will also need pay additional 400k.

No point buying Mini in Nigeria, unless you are in an Area where they don't charge activation fee. It doesn't make sense.
I also wondered why one will want to go for the mini.

Is the mini tied to a specific location too like standard? If not, maybe that may be why one will want it over standard.
Christianity EtcRe: I Have Lost My Zeal For Attending Church by ask4bk(m): 9:46am On Jul 13, 2025
paxonel:
your relationship with God has nothing to do with church.
John 3:16 says whosoever believes in him, not whosoever go to church.
first of all, you have to understand what your faith is.
Your faith is believing in Christ for your salvation. Is that synonymous to church going?
No!
if you truly want to attend church, make friends with people in church who they either benefit from you or you benefitting from them.
You must have a target of a tangible thing you want to achieve in church.
Whether you want to enjoy the relationship with the people or you may need some financial help which will require them seeing you coming to church all the time.
This one must be pentecostal.
See how you just summarised church as a place for financial connections. Big shameee.
Pentecostal churches are the biggest virus to Christianity. Christ has been eliminated from the centre and replaced with material Prosperity.
You said anyone who believes in him will be saved, instead same you changed the belief to tithe - whoever pays tithe will be saved.

Its all about money and prosperity and nothing again about Christ.

That's why people don't find Christ again in churches.
Christianity EtcRe: I Have Lost My Zeal For Attending Church by ask4bk(m): 9:41am On Jul 13, 2025
I love to just chill on Sundays, relaxing. I can't be stressing myself very early on a Sunday morning after having a hectic weekday plus Saturdays at times. Thankfully I can attend evening mass during the week so to me its not a must to go on Sundays.

I believe so far your relationship with God is good and you treat your fellow humans fairly, its not a must to go to church every Sunday. Some take church as a social club, some go on Sundays cuz they don't want people to start asking questions on why they didn't go. Nobody can dare ask me any question when its not like I come to beg you for anything so why would you want to dictate how I live my life. Whatever I choose to do on Sundays is between me and God and a pure heart is better than marching to church on Sundays.
I love how you said "according to me" and used "I" throughout.
Unfortunately, as a Catholic that you are, it's not about me and I. It's rather about Christ and His church. It's a divine law to observe the sabbath day which is now Sunday the day of resurrection. It's also an ecclesiastical law to attend mass every Sunday and failure to do so are mortal grave sins.

I also have my own sins i try so hard to justify with my own personal beliefs. But after a while i realise I'm deceiving myself and just looking for ways to continue in the wrong thing i want to be doing.

May God help you and me in our struggle for righteousness

Sorry, please do you have example?
There are various types for different scenarios. You need to know what kind of space you want to cover, target clients for it, walls or obstructions on the way, etc to make a good choice.
Get an IT guy who is into it to come see your space and the distance between you and the buildings you want to extend to.
If its just for your house, any tp-link with WDS is ok.
If its gen 2 and you want to do wired expansion which gives your best speed, then you must get starlink Ethernet adapter.

Please how do your wirelessly extend this to a few buldings away, say I want to give access to residents in a few buildings away?
By spending big money and buying routers that can do that. There are many and they can be moderately expensive. But it's a worthy one time investment to enjoy your starlink every where

DealHubNg:
Thanks.
Do you know how further 2.4GHZ can go, away from the walls of the building and fence?
Bro, won't solve your problem. The router doesn't have the best coverage and that's mostly coz starlink runs their frequencies on 40 / 80 MHz. They focus on speed and not on distance. Also their WiFi radio antenna not the best for distance.

Solution is to go buy a 3rd party router, link both up via cable or wirelessly and spread that WiFi to any where you want, even if you want to extend from your home to your work place 😁

You said No AC, no Heat Pumps, just Fridge Freezer and other regular appliances that wont pass 4KW… So why are you looking at 11KW and 12KW inverters. Have you heard of something called idle power consumption of inverters before? The bigger your inverter, the higher the idle power consumption(meaning you will waste more of your battery). If your load is not more than 4KW, just buy Growatt SPF 5000ES from Fouani. If your load increases above 4000W in the future, you can buy a second SPF5000 as it allows you to do parallel connection
Its a 20 room house that could let in some crazy visitors any day though they mostly have at most 5-6 in the house.
That other empty end is to hold possible increase in house dwellers that could happen any time.

If I understand correctly, is it illegal to download series or other entertainment services from third-party sites like we are used to with our local internet providers? Could this ever be grounds for banning people from accessing star link services that was paid for with our hard earned money? angry
Its clearly written in their AUP and user terms not to download illegal materials with their Internet.
Ideally they can ban you for continuous abuse of that.

But they just won't.

For America people dey go jail well for torrenting and illegal downloads. You go pay the company tire. People torrent there with VPN.
In Africa anti piracy laws just don't work that's why we can do it here without wahala.

For big house with plenty rooms, no inductive loads of AC, heaters or pumps,.... Only fridges and freezers plus other stuffs that all in all won't pass 4kwh use...

What inverter you advice me to use between these?

Sako 11kw, Gospower 12kw, Cworth 12kw - all high frequency
Or felicity IVPM 10kva transformer based.

Need quality assurance for many years usage.

Help me with suggestion pls.

Finally got the dreaded warning from starlink that i infringed and downloading copyrighted materials illegally.

Reading the messager from the complainer, Paramount studios, they said I or someone using my Internet downloaded BILLIONS a paramount season series in FRENCH.

That's already a proof that it is not from my starlink. None of my users know French, apart from me sha. We never learn English not to talk of French.

I live near Benin Republic in northern Nigeria so i guess my starlink was among multiple starlinks sharing same public ip address when the material was downloaded. Guess i share ip address with Benin Republic guys.

Anyway. Got to know that starlink just, by obligation, needs to send that warning to everybody who were using the ip address at that point of time. They threaten with ban but i hear they'll never do so.

Someone once wrote to them saying he downloaded nothing and starlink told him they know but just had to send the warning to fulfil the law and the person should not worry.

Guess i shouldn't worry too.

They use such charges to discourage people from getting onboard. They also do it overseas, not just here. In fact, in some parts of the US where capacity has been reached, they charge up to $1,000 activation fee. The idea is simply to discourage more customers from getting onboard, and it's legal.
And someone calmed the 400k activation was a mistake that will be rectified soon.

Why would u need 1000amps? Unless it's a high duty truck or performance car
Small cars need about instant 300-500A to start.
Bigger cars, SUV and mini trucks (eg hilux) could need 500-1000A. Imagine going higher to big trucks and lorries.
Lead acid have no problem with that.

We've had this discussion on this thread earlier this year or so, and as HB indicated, people have been using lifepo batteries for ages to power their cars.

On the DIY angle, I also remember posting a video on this thread of a guy who had been using a wooden contraption with lifepo cells to power his car for like 4-5 years.

As for this assertion and CCA, this is definitely not an issue for lifepo cells as they will practically always out crank a lead acid battery of similar weight or capacity.

I believe the main issue why LFP has not been adopted universally in the West is partly because of pricing and safety concerns but now it's mainly its limitations in being charged in cold weather. No one wants a battery that you may need to swap out for a quarter or more of the year when their is a reliable chemistry one has been using for more than half a century that works fine.

EDIT: the page we thrashed this out for a bit

It's only over the last two years that LFP has become popular for home energy storage, so it's not surprising that people aren't using it for cars yet.

This is a subject we've had plenty of discussions about on this very thread, as I wanted to replace one of my car batteries with an LFP one earlier this year. One of the key sticking points, unfortunately, was price.

But it's doable. There are lots of people using DIY LFP batteries on their cars on YouTube.

Batteries are batteries at the end of the day. You just need to make sure the thermals are fine and charge/discharge make sense.

There's the option of charging directly from your alternator. But then you rely on your alternator+cells to handle your LVD and HVD points, and risk cell damage due to overcharging.

If you introduce a BMS to handle charging, you then need to make sure it's one that can also handle the high instantaneous discharge rates needed to start a car (can get up to 600A).

Ultimately, it's doable. Try it out and get back to us cheesy
Those are the complains i made.
You'll need a BMS that can handle 1000A, and then batteries that can do 3-4C to hit 500-1000A.

I was referring to why we can't build it DIY and why isn't it a common thing today easily ready in market for all cars.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ask4bk(m): 8:05am On Jul 05, 2025
Just curious.
Why are lithium LFP batteries not common for car batteries to replace the traditional lead acid car batteries that after 1-2 yrs is bad.

I know that cars use high cranking amps to start a car and that may make it hard getting an LFP replacement. But i believe there are special high discharge LFP cells that can be hit with 300-1000A discharge in few seconds just to start the car.
If that is possible, then a special BMS that can chest such high amps discharge can be used.

If such LFP cells exist, which i believe they do (never researched on it yet), and such BMS created, i think we can replace our car and truck batteries with LFP lithium and enjoy our batteries for 5-10 years.
Plus it'll be lighter.

Does anyone have info or research on this and why it isn't happening yet or becoming common, apart from the obvious challenges I've anyway mentioned?

You mean those who were on it are still stuck on it with N50k somehow since their plan wasn't price modified and the plan is officially removed from Nigeria?
