I just thought it best to give back to this wonderful thread. Little bit of advice and experience would help. My first week in London has been wonderful and I am enjoying my stay but can't say much about spending and the weather.

Little tips for when u come..

getting a Lyca sim is better..u can get two bundle plan on a sim...1. 20£ for 1000 minutes Naija time for a month and same time sub 10£for UK plan on same sim for 1000 Uk minutes and unlimited text. Either way u want it.

Don't worry about the transport..it's been very challenging but u can't get lost here.

Download this app citymapper...best app so far if u coming to London..it will show u everything you need to know and plan your journey f m any location you find yourself. Be it train, car, bus and walking.

Use TFL.gov.uk to also plan ur journey.
Download Oyster contactless to check your ticket balance on your fone.
Use goodgle maps or goodle earth if you are the picture type.

I hope this helps though me myself I am still an amateur. Lol..always dressing like masquerade.

Chai my Oga's I don die for cold here ooooo. Their accent is another problem. I thought I knew it all as I don travel many times to Asian countries but this one pass me, English is just like arabic language..... please is their any advice for me? Lol

Wore a thick sweater but didn't help much..the cold just dey wire me for my jean and face..lol. Going shopping tomorrow sha so will get all neccessary survival kits.

Now in London! So freaking cold. I was shaking even inside the underground train and passengers were just staring. Lol..thanks to my bosses for the advice and confirmed info's making all possible.

It's been 15days since interview @Ikeja and 13days since my visa was received @Abuja and I am yet to get approval mail. The anxiety is killing but I am sure mine is gonna be a success story like others as well...Need to ask as well. I was awarded a £5000 pounds scholarship last week after I have done my interview. Do I need to inform the UKBA or ask school to inform the UKBA? Or better still wait till visa approved?.
