UtchayPro: Hello house please I'm looking for accomodation options on the mainland...any information on where I can find a self contained in a decent area that's between 80-100k will be highly appreciated. And also, as a non-Lagosian(me) which area is generally fair traffic wise, is a bit cool (not filled with area boys and the like) and still has decent accomodation options.
Also which area on the mainland would you advise me to settle for and why? I need to know which area would be better for me so I'd fill in as my place of residence during my registration cos I heard they usually post people around the local government they register as their place of residence.

Your budget on getting a self-con accommodation in a fair-traffic envt is kinda low. Communities close to whr i stay include Mende, & Onigbongbo. You can secure an accommodation btw 130-150k but mostly 150k dats excluding agent fee (usually 20k upwards). Its always easier & faster getting an accommodation via an agent. I will advise you stay in the heartbeat of mainland which is Ikeja/Maryland. You will get easy mobility to any part of lagos from thr, less traffic, good roads etc...

I believe I am speaking the heart of most students in nigerian who is affected by this sudden change of the orientation camp activities. This is a life time experience that you guys and the government want to deny us from. Our parents and some of our grand parents took part in this 3 weeks excercise, our friends took part in it, why deny us this opportunity? Most of us have gone as far as buying things we would use during the orientation camp, should it all go to waste? Our friends had the experience, why us this joy? Why not close down markets, shopping malls, business centres, motor parks and so many places where lots of people gather, if the government is really trying to protect the nation. Why shut down schools only? This exercise is just for 3weeks. We buy food from d market everyday, meet different people everyday and yet many are still living. The government should not deny us this experience, its a life time story, it happens Once in a life time. I am speaking the heart of many students. Our parents have spent money purchasing equipment that will be used for this exercise will it all be in vain? People gather in different places, markets, sport centres, e.t.c people make body contacts with people everyday and yet not up to 12 death has been recorded of the Ebola virus, why punish us this way. We beg of you to allow us carry out our orientation exercise for the 3weeks. At most every student should be tested before entering d orientation camp and not cancelling it. Please don't take part of the stories we owe to our children. Do not make us feel incomplete as part of nigerian students. We beg all of you not to put sadness in our hearts. Should the president of this country also be in the black book of nigerian students, should they say it was his tenure they never went to orientation camp. Mr president sir should everything be negative in your tenure? Should the full nation think badly of you? Why not shut down universities that are still on sessions if that is the case because some schools are still on session. Please do not take joy away from us you all had this opportunity .Thanks and God bless

SerPounce: At the highlighted, my point exactly. Schools take majority of Corps members, so that means many will be idle till whenever they decide to reopen schools. It could be next week or in two months time. Cos with Naija govt, anything is possible.

Bros eh...and there's no sign of them lifting the suspension anytime soon. The last time i checked, if you ain't serving, no allowance for you. Does dat also imply to those corpers that will be posted to schools? (any idea?)
Cos i know idleness is certain till govt decide to re-inverse the suspension. Hope the allowee sef won't be idle

SerPounce: As it stands, there will be no camping as they've stated on their site. Except they change their decision in the coming days, it still stands. Let's try n move past that. What we should be asking is what plans they've put in place for posting to PPAs, since they say their decision to postpone orientation camp for us was "In consideration of the presidential pronouncement
that all schools should not reopen at this time of
national health emergency...".

Since most corpers are posted to schools and schools are not reopening anytime soon, are we to just stay at home after collecting our PPA posting letters, until whenever they decide to reopen the schools or will they reconsider their position and post us to other sectors? Or will coming with request letters from organisations outside the recognized sectors be acceptable as a result of the present circumstances? To me, that's the more important question. Those with any ideas can share.

Despite d cancellation of corpers being posted to private firms & co, corpers still serve there. Govt can't stop private firms from requesting for the service of youth corpers.
I guess d answer to your question should be a YES, it will definitely be accepted come rain, come sunshine, it will be accepted. My fear is that most corpers "may" be idle until the suspension of the resumption of both primary & secondary sch is lifted. Reason been that the educational sector takes the larger percentage of corpers ppa.

You ought to knw that the press is always restricted from any event or news concerning anything involving the military. The military has its own arm of journalism. So if that arm don't give out information/news to the public press, you'll never hear of it on any news platform that's outside the signal/communication core in the military.
