myboy2111:
The Peoples Democratic Party is considering the possibility of changing its name before the conduct of 2019 general elections, The PUNCH has learnt.

Investigations by our correspondent showed that this was one of the conditions given by those who left the party before the 2015 general elections.

It was gathered that this might be one of the issues to be discussed by the party at its hurriedly called National Executive Committee meeting, which holds in Abuja on Thursday (today).

Is PDP actually Dead?

http://punchng.com/pdp-mulls-name-change-holds-emergency-nec-today/
PDP is not dead and can never be dead. Let the NEC not be deceive by all these political prostitutes. My only appeal to PDP is for them to conduct free and credible primaries across board and let Nigerians decide.

Nigerians are watching , the leadership of the Senate has been doing enough it just a pity that this has to happen in the Senate.
Some people fill the can under mine our democracy. This senate has continued to uphold our democracy despite the distractions.

They did it in contravene of an existing court ruling that, the Senate does not have the right to suspend another Senate.

Doing so, will be violating the democratic rights of his/her constituents to be represented.

If the Senate felt that, a fellow member broke the law, after the committee finding, they can vote to refer the matter to the AG for prosecution and the whole Senate can vote to confirm.
His suspension received a majority voice vote, so I don't know which confirmation you are talking about. What happened was an internal affair and in such case, if in the house rules provisions are there on how such should be dealth with it is then refered to. Please in as much as you hate Saraki as a person try to be constructive in your criticism. The senate as an institution is under threat here that is what we should be more concerned about.

You need a brain +plus. Saraki did not suspend any senator, the ethics comittee did. Learn to be constructive when criticizing.

[quote author=life2017 post=66815410]Senate President Saraki Is a Tyrant. Senate Deserve The Hoodlum Attack

Senate President Bukola Saraki has been operating like a tyrant and a dictator. Senators are given mandate by their constituencies and not by the senate president or senate committee on ethics. Senators are suppose to be opinion shapers.

Under Saraki, most of the senators have been reduced to puppet of the senate president. The freedom of speech, freedom to agree and disagree of the senators are under constant attack by Saraki dictatorial tendencies. The senate is suppose to be a place of diverse opinion. But Saraki want to turn the senate to a single opinion chamber who rubber stamp everything at his will.
WHAT A SHAME THAT YOU DON'T KNOW HOW LEGISLATORS OPERATE. NEED FOR ROWDYNESS MAY ARISE BUT STOP REFERENCING BRITAIN. I DOUBT IF FEC CAN BE ROWDY BE IT PMB OR PYO THAT IS PRESIDING. BE CONSTRUCTIVE WHEN CRITICISING PLS

The onus now rest on us to correct the wrongs. Re-ordering or not our vote must count. I fear for this country. I am not suprise because this is what you get when governors are in control of the structure of the party. I want to believe the senators may have been threatened with re-election, so the back down.

They want to continue to milk us, forget all the anti-corruption noise by PMB, it is ceremonial. They are still looting and will not stop. Why do we have so much killings in the north despite having most of the security chiefs coming from there? Why do we have so much hunger in the land? Why do we have a battered economy with so much inflation? Why are things becoming worse instead of improving? I am from the the northern part of the country. I disagree with all your question. Saraki is a dictator.
Any senator who oppose Saraki either get suspended or get remove from his committee position.

He is a complete autocrat. All other senators appear more like zombie.

He is powerful because Buhari don't believe in buying the Senate with money. because most Nigeria senators worship money, they allowed Saraki to control them like Kids because he is the only source of their corrupt unconstitutional running cost
Lad u need some political schooling
Politics › Re: Between Saraki And PMB, Who Is More Of A Dictator? by asobo:
Saraki have continue to uphold the dignity of the red upper chambers, though people who do not have knowledge of politics would read negative meaning to his style of leadership. The three arms of government are suppose to be independent and that is what Saraki has continued to show not allowing the senate to be a rubber stamp in the hands of the executive. OP who is more of a dictator? Is it the president that has shown that he has no regard for the rule of law with dasuki and the shitte leader still incommunicado despite several court judgement. If not because Saraki is a brave man he won't have been occuping the seat of the senate president till date. OP another question . Why is the unity group and the like minds that was in the senate? They have all come together to give there counstituent a better representation rather than fighting for an already failed president. LASTLY ADMIN THANK YOU FOR THE BAN, SO BECAUSE I CALLED donviking out for calling Ozekhome a bastard pig and Shehu Sani an idiot u ban me.
