Crime / Breaking:umo Eno Attempts To Change Certificate Tendered In Court by assamu1122(m): 9:11pm On Sep 14, 2022
Abasifreke Effiong

Counsels to Mr. Umo Eno, the governorship candidate of the PDP, attempted to swap the certificate of Mr. Eno, which they tendered in Court on Tuesday 13th September.

There was drama at the Federal High Court, Uyo, on Wednesday 14th September during continuation of hearing in the case against Mr. Umo Eno when the plaintiff, Mr Akan Okon raised an alarm that the photocopy of Eno's certificate presented to him was different from the one that was tendered yesterday.

During further cross examination of Mr. Okon, lead counsel to the 2nd defendant, Mr. Paul Usoro, SAN, presented a photocopy of the certificate of Mr. Eno to the plaintiff for sighting in Court, the plaintiff said the copy was not legible, that he should be given the original copy of the certificate tendered in court on Tuesday.

When the certificate was presented to Mr. Okon, he raised an alarm that the original copy he saw yesterday is different from what he is being shown today and it is different from the photocopy marked exhibit.

He observed that there was a pagination, "2/2" inscribed on the bottom strip of the 1981 certificate and "1/2" also inscribed on the bottom strip of the 1983 certificate were all trimmed off.

"My Lord I can't see this copy clearly. Let them bring the original".

When the original was brought, Okon screamed.

"My Lord this is not what I saw yesterday, the photocopy is not complete. Please ask them to bring the original certificate they presented yesterday. The copy they tendered yesterday had pagination, the photocopy that was admitted yesterday is different from this one they are presenting to me."

"My Lord, please tell them to bring the original of the certificate they tendered yesterday", he reiterated.

When the Judge, Justice A. A. Okeke, directed the court clerk to bring the photocopy of the certificate tendered yesterday by Mr. Umo Eno, and presented to Okon, he drew the attention of the court to the bottom strip on the photocopy admitted in court yesterday, raising alarm that the one presented today does not have the pagination on the bottom strip.

"My Lord, look at this, the pagination has been cut off. They have changed it. They have changed it", Okon screamed.

At that point, the plaintiff's lead counsel, Mr. Okey Amaechi, SAN, screamed at the court clerk to return the new original certificate to the defense counsel and file back the one they presented yesterday which had pagination.

In a bid to take the plaintiff's attention away from the attempt to swap the certificate, Mr. Paul Usoro, SAN, told the plaintiff in open Court to take his eyes off the defense counsel's bench and remain focused towards the Judge.

In his exact words, Mr. Usoro said "Don't look at the lawyers, look at the Court."

The observable differences on the certificate as raised by the plaintiff was noted by the Court.

In his oral testimony to further prove that Eno's WAEC result was forged, Mr. Okon in response to a question asked by Mr. Usoro, told the Court that his forensic expert witness had established in his evidence in Court that the 2nd defendant's online confirmation result was printed from a website, www.waeconline.ng.org, created by one Olasoji Ajayi of Sigma Technologies Nigeria Limited.

"My Lord, my findings show that those of us who sat for the 1981 May/June WAEC, their online confirmation are not uploaded on WAEC's authentic website. WAEC has not uploaded candidates' results from 1998 down."

While cross-examining the plaintiff, 3rd defendant's (INEC) lawyer, Mr. Harrison Eze, asked how he knew that the 2nd defendant's voter's card was not issued by INEC.

Mr. Okon said, he checked the registration status of the 2nd defendant by typing his surname, and year of birth on INEC registration portal, and no information about him was displayed.

Mr. Eze further asked Mr. Okon if he knew that it is only the database manager of INEC that is authorised to acces INEC database.

Mr. Okon said that the lawyer's assertion was incorrect.

Mr. Eze then added, "can I put it to you that by your activity of 24th April 2022, that you hacked INEC's database?"

Mr. Okon responded, "No. My Lord, INEC allows voters limited access to their portal to check their registration status. If you allow me, I will bring my phone and we can check it here. When you login to INEC portal, it will take you to a page for voters registration, there you select state, then you input your surname and year of birth, it will show the registration details of the voter including the VIN".

In his interaction with journalists after today's sitting, lead counsel to the plaintiff, Mr. Okey Amaechi, SAN, told journalists that they had applied to INEC to provide them with the Certified True Copy of the voters register of Eno's voting unit, but INEC has failed to provide it.

"We demanded for the voters register of the unit where he (Umo Eno) claimed to have registered, INEC is giving us excuses that they are still doing registration of voters."

With the end of the cross-examination of the plaintiff, the lead counsel to the 1st and 2nd defendants, Mr. Paul Usoro, SAN, informed the Court that they have "three short witnesses", that the Court should "allow me the opportunity to see who my witnesses are."

A plea the Court overlooked and adjourned the case to Thursday 15th September, for the 1st and 2nd defendants to open their defense.

Romance / Sex Outside Marriage Is ‘not The Most Serious Sin’ –pope Francis by assamu1122(m): 8:00am On Dec 09, 2021
Pope Francis has said that sex outside of marriage is not the most serious sin.

The leader of the Catholic church said this during a press conference aboard his flight back to Italy from Greece on Monday when he was asked about the resignation of the Archbishop of Paris, Michel Aupetit, who a French magazine claimed had engaged in an intimate relationship with a woman.

In response, the Pope said, “It was a failing on his part, a failing against the sixth commandment, but not a total one. There is sin there but not the worst kind….Sins of the flesh are not the most serious.”

Rather, he said that pride and hatred were “the most serious” of sins.

Politics / Akwa Ibom Guber. 2023: Top 5 Aspirants With Grassroots Based Supporters by assamu1122(m): 7:43am On Nov 30, 2021
No politician becomes a great politician until he has grassroots-based supporters in all local government areas in a state and no politician can boast of followers if his grassroots support is not strong.

As of today in Akwa Ibom, some politicians are statesmen and there are politicians. For one to be proud to say he is a politician, there must be a certain percentage of followership or fans base to boast of.

In light of the foregoing, this article will unveil top 5 governorship aspirants in Akwa Ibom State with a long-standing grassroots support base.

1. MR. AKAN OKON : Currently, Mr. Akan Okon is the commissioner for Economic Development and Ibom Deep Seaport in Akwa Ibom state executive council. He is cool, humble, easy-going, and a hard-working public servant.

He has been in the arena of politics and has been in public service in the past couple of years. Due to his humane nature and his spirit to see others grow, Mr. Okon has been instrumental to many young people's success in the state and has empowered many. Akan Okon is one man with a reputable character many people in the state speak good of.

As a gentleman loved by many and had contested for governor before, Mr. Akan has massive supporters across the local government areas in the state and he is well-rooted politically.

2. SENATOR BASSEY ALBERT AKPAN: Senator OBA as he is fondly called does not need formal introduction anyway in Akwa Ibom for anyone to know him. He is the popular personality that even a day-old baby must have heard of. A two-term senator, leader of the federal lawmakers from Akwa Ibom, and a former commissioner.

There is no local government in the state that senator OBA does not have or boast of a well-structured support base. His name rings bell in the state that even a baby sings OBA. With his structure all over the state, and as someone who had contested for governor before, stepping into the ring yet again for the governorship race in 2023 will be an understatement and his supporters across the state are eagerly waiting for him to declare officially so that they can queue behind him.

3. RT. HON. ONOFIOK LUKE: Onofiok Luke is like John 3:16 in the Bible where every child, no matter how small he/she may be must have heard about. Simply put, Onofiok Luke is like Jesus Christ, the only begotten son that his father sent from heaven to die for mankind. This biblical context clearly defines the person of Onofiok. Who does not know Onofiok or has not heard about him before? Absolutely, none.

A two-term House of Assembly member, the former Speaker, Aide to the former governor, member of the house of representatives, and a deacon in the vineyard of God.

Mr. Luke is one character that is so dear to Akwa Ibom and her people. He needs no introduction to be known. He is widely known, accepted, and celebrated. There is no local government in Akwa Ibom state that the name is not well engraved on the minds of the indigenes. A very humble and down-to-earth personality. For the fact that Onofiok is young, smart, close to the grassroots, accessible, given a chance, no youth, women, not even elders will hesitate to vote him as the next governor of Akwa Ibom State.

4. RT. HON. MICHAEL ENYONG: Not everyone knows that Hon. Eyong, popularly known as Babantan, the member representing Uyo federal constituency is very popular and rooted across the local government areas in the state. If not for anything, for his consistent and radical empowerment program in the state where people from other local government areas in the state also benefited from. It is a known fact that Mr. Enyong has made more millionaires than any federal lawmaker in the state. This singular act has redundantly endeared him to the people and placed him above others, thereby making him more popular in the state even as he is being nicknamed, Mr. Empowerment.

The former businessman and two-term lawmaker, not until the Nigerian Senate passed a bill for direct primaries, Hon. Enyong was so popular due to the way he coordinated statutory party delegates in the state and empowered them with the hope that the election was going to be an indirect primary where only delegates will vote. At a point, the MP colonized all the delegates across the local government areas in the state and placed them on monthly stipends though with some sort of commitment to ascertain their loyalty and support.

Due to his long hand of giving out cash, Mr. Enyong can boast of a strong fan base across the state that can stand by and support him massively for the governorship.

5. MR. AKAN UDOFIA: Though some people are not still certain whether he is going to contest under the platform of PDP as his ways and mode of politicking are not too clear to the people, Mr. Akan Udofia is one of the fierce aspirants who within the short time he has surfaced in Akwa Ibom politics, has amassed supporters for himself across the state.

Although many people are not still familiar with the name, Mr. Akan is one big contender with a fat bank account that one can say, will standstill to the end irrespective of what the outcome may be.

Business tycoon and a billionaire who has asserted a few days ago in a media chat with journalists that, if elected as a governor, he will make and develop people. What more can spur the people up to vote massively to an aspirant than a statement like this?

He is one aspirant whose team knows their job and from information gathered, they have been able to coordinate supporters and there is no local government you go that the name will not be a subject of discussion.

Family / REVEALED: Dr. Akunyili Died With Biafra War Bullet In His Skull - Children by assamu1122(m): 9:46am On Oct 02, 2021
The children of Dr. Chike Akunyili have poured heart troubling attribute to their father who was gruesomely murdered by unknown gunmen in Anambra State.

In the tribute, the children described their father as a selfless man, a passionate medical doctor who through out his profession, spent to save humanity and above all, fought Biafra war and lived with bullet in his skull till he was killed.

Read it...

TRIBUTE TO LATE DR CHIKE AKUNYILI

Moving tribute by the children of late Dr. Chike Akunyili who was murdered by unknown gunmen at Nkpor, Anambra state on Tuesday, 28th September, 2021.

“Death in any situation is painful, but when it is as brutal and senseless as murder, our hearts break twice.

As a nation mourns a man known to many as the husband of late Professor Dora Akunyili, we as a family remember the man we call Daddy.

He was a son — as a young man, he fought as a soldier in the Biafra war. A war that earned him a bullet that stayed lodged in his skull ever since. From this experience of violence and death, he went on to become a doctor saving thousands of lives — a powerful testament to his journey through life.

He was a loving husband. It is no surprise that, on the day of his untimely death, he was on his way from a memorial lecture in honor of his late wife, who he cherished and honored even in death. At this event and always, he invited everyone to be like his wife Dora.

He was a father and grandfather. With joy, he would share that he was a grandfather to 9 grandchildren. He welcomed his youngest grandchild just a little over a month ago and had yet to meet her. Ask any of the grandchildren about Grandpa, and they will tell you stories of love and support, be it his long text to his oldest granddaughter at the victory of Kamala Harris inviting her to note the inspiration for herself or speaking to his namesake and grandson Chike, reminding him of his own limitless potential.

He was an older brother to all his siblings, many of whom call him Daddy in reverence and recognition of his love.

He was a healer. A passionate surgeon, Dr. Chike was the Medical Director at St. Leo’s Hospital in Enugu. For decades he served countless people, many of whom he cared for and healed at no cost. His one request was always that they paid it forward.

He started his healing journey in the north where he built and ran a mobile clinic in Jaban Kogo. For many months, he lived and worked among the people, studying and becoming fluent in Hausa to better serve his patients. His commitment to providing healthcare to that community earned him the National Youth Service Merit Award.

He was a philanthropist. For 45 years he treated priests in Bigard Memorial Seminary and beyond for free, trusting this to be his calling.

He was a Papal Knight of Saint John, a title bestowed by the Vatican in recognition of his dedication and service to the Church.

He was a man of the people, loved by many for his wisdom and for his courage to always speak the truth. His counsel was sought far and wide.

He is remembered for his ability to hold an audience captive with his words and stories. To hear him speak in Igbo was to be blessed by the wisdom of endless proverbs.

He was an ordinary man who, everyday, showed his extraordinary commitment to his community and his people by his ability to help people in need without question.

In his final days, his heart was heavy about the state of things in Nigeria. He lamented about the struggles of people unable to pay for treatment anymore and about the unfortunate state of unrest where human life had lost its value.

His hope echoed that of his beloved wife and our mother, that Nigeria might lean on the forces of unity and shun disunity. That we might do the right thing, trusting that our potential lies in the goodness of the people and the greatness of the nation.

What happens if we move closer to these ideals?

His murder and death leave a gap which sorrow cannot fill.

May it not be in vain”.

Signed,

Dr. Ijeoma Akunyili,
Dr. Edozie Akunyili,
Dr. Somto Akunyili Asuzu,
Njideka Akunyili Crosby,
Chidiogo Akunyili-Parr,
Obumneme Akunyili,
And their families

Nairaland / General / NIGERIA AT 61: I Urges Leaders At All Levels To Make Democracy Work - Atiku by assamu1122(m): 8:38am On Oct 01, 2021
The former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has urged all Nigerian leaders to make Democracy in Nigeria work as well as call on government to push policies that will improve the living standards of the average Nigerians.

The former vice president made the call through his official social media handle while congratulating Nigeria on her 61st independence day.

It reads;

As we celebrate our Independence Day, I urge for unity, even as I remain worried at the declining standard of living of Nigerians.

I use this opportunity to call on governments at all levels to push policies that will lead to improved standards of living for the average Nigerian. If this is done, I am confident that the future ahead of us will be brighter and better.

I also urge our leaders at all levels of the imperative of making our democracy work for all through justice, equity, fairness and equal spread of development across the country.

It is regrettable that despite our vast oil resources, extreme poverty and joblessness have remained persistent. There is no excuse that 61 years after independence, extreme poverty is still staring the ordinary citizen in the face.

I also advocate for bipartisan initiatives by political leaders to address the spate of insecurity compounded by joblessness and poor living conditions.

Nonetheless, it is worthy to celebrate our great nation on her anniversary today. We have come a long way together as a country. Although we have challenges that beset us like other countries, we must not surrender to them. We must work together, in truth and justice, to overcome these challenges as a stronger and more united country.

Culture / We'll Stand By Buhari To Achieve His Programs For Niger Delta Region- Olu Of War by assamu1122(m): 9:04am On Aug 29, 2021
The Olu of Warri, His Royal Majesty, Utieyinoritsola Emiko Ogiame Atuwase 111, has declared his support and that of his kingdom for the programs and plans of President Mohammadu Buhari, for the development of the Niger Delta Region.

The Monarch, who was last week installed as the 21st Olu of Warri, stated this while receiving in courtesy, The Minister, Niger Delta Affairs Ministry, Senator Godswill Akpabio, in his palace in Warri on Saturday.

In his words, "let me assure and also encourage you to know that when things are being discussed at the highest level in this country about the Niger Delta Region, please see us as a staunch ally and a firm supporter.

"Let President Buhari know that, as he communicates his visions and plans for the people of the region through you, that he has a strong ally and supporter here that will help him actualize all those plans. We shall give all our best to ensure those programs succeed."

Speaking further, he stressed that "when the Niger Delta region functions optimally, Nigeria will get it right, not when Lagos or Abuja functions. When the region truly fulfills its potentials outside Oil and Gas, with our Seaports fully operational, good road network for communication and economic development, the economy of this nation will blossom".

He noted that peace in the region was very important if development must come to the people, saying, " what is top on the agenda in this palace is peace, unity and prosperity. We will not visit old wounds and division. All that would be expected of us to make the economy work, we will do that.

"If it is spiritual work, if it is to speak it into existence, we will do that. If it is to use our good offices to re educate, re orientate our people to see these things that we have in the region as belonging to all of us because we are all one, we will also do that.

"When we achieve this unity and peace in the region, most of our children living in Lagos and Abuja and even outside the country, will relocate and help further develop the region because there is no place like home."

Earlier in his remarks, Senator Akpabio congratulated the monarch for the successful coronation ceremony, saying," my visit here today is to congratulate His Majesty for peaceful ascension of the throne of your forebears. At the event, I was only represented but I decided to be present today as a sign of brotherhood and to register my loyalty to the crown."

Akpabio charged the monarch to continue his peace and unity agenda in the kingdom asserting that, "with these eminent Nigerians who make up the Council of Chiefs as counsellors, their wisdom and experience given to them by God, you can never go wrong, and that is why the Warri Kingdom stands out in the Niger Delta region."

" I know I must get directive from you as the Minister in charge of the Niger Delta region, on what and what should be done for the people of your kingdom. Our job is to support you to succeed as the Olu through provision of infrastructure and other needs. Work on the abandoned Okorie road, I can assure you, will commence in September this year. My request is simple, you should also help with what you have already started which is the spiritual aspect.

"You would recall, Your Majesty, that shortly after your coronation, you handed over the entire Warri Kingdom to God Almighty, cancelling all curses that was placed on the kingdom by past Olus because of how they were treated by government. You used the authority given to you by God. Do not depart from your set goals because you have a mission".

Akpabio promised to work with the monarch as a son for the development of the Niger Delta region, saying " I will work with you as the president's representative to develop the region. I don't want to be a guest in the palace. I am speaking as a son of the kingdom, who can come at anytime to discuss issues affecting the region".

Nairaland / General / Revealing The Eseme Eyiboh People Don't Know by assamu1122(m): 8:07am On Aug 23, 2021
-By Unwana Assam

Eseme Eyiboh is one popular name in Esit Eket local government, Akwa Ibom, and even Nigeria at large. Some of us started hearing about him and had a certain grok of him right from birth. At that time, whenever the name was mentioned, all kinds of notions both negative and positive would trigger in.

It was a very popular name but the bearer seemed physically unfamiliar with the people. At a point, some people created a kind of notorious impression about him, always associated his name with something very bad and obnoxious. That is to tell you the conception of an average person about Eseme Eyiboh in those days.

Until now, many people with different notions about him never knew that, Eseme is not typically the kind of person they always mirrored him to be, but a different person or personality entirely. No doubt, everyone has a peculiar attitude or characteristic that people know them for in politics and Eseme Eyiboh is not an exception.

In my simple verdict, the Esit Eket fine politician is one man that God created for this generation for a reason. He is one man who does not take "NO" for an answer. This, he has fought for many years to transfer it to the younger generation and make them trash out that notion of "failure" in their thoughts. He uses himself as someone who comes from nowhere or from a place that can be likened to the biblical manger of Jesus Christ to become something as a case.

Eseme is the kind of person this generation needs the most. Whether he is a bad person as some people would say or good, he has paid his dues. People usually thought he was a hard person. But I can beat my chest and say, Eseme is not a hard person. He is not a stingy person. People just misconstrue him without knowing his day-to-day attitudes and how he goes about life.

Anybody who has ever done business or any kind of transaction with Eseme will know and tell that, He is a very strict, disciplined, and of course, a "no-nonsense" man. No wonder people say he is hard and stingy, an attribute that is very rare in today's society.

You can't be someone that was raised by strict parents, uncle, or in a family where things are done accordingly and religiously and you hate Eseme Eyiboh. Never!

Admittedly, it is hard to live the kind of life Eseme lives in society as porous as ours and be loved by many people. At my age, I rarely see it. If any, it is very few. People live life with no regard for human dignity or another person. They live life with no regulation of anything. And you see someone in the same society who is extremely conscious of all he does, his yes is yes, his no is no, always punctual and committed to completing tasks, strict, disciplined, has a passion for youths development and at the same time jovial as well as develops a thick skin over petty stuff and you expect the society to love him and talk good of him? It is not possible.

It is also said of him that he does not give people money. Yes, Eseme, like the governor Udom's Dakadda Creed will say, does not give people money, except otherwise. That is why, if you are dealing with him, you must be careful in terms of your wants for money. But the same Eseme who does not give out money for flimsy reasons can go the extra mile to spend millions of naira to secure a long-term and sustainable opportunity for you and your future. This is not "I hearsay" but a verdict that has an unequaled record to back it up.

Some people will say Eyiboh is a very hard person coated with wickedness but I tell you that, Eseme is not hard nor wicked but you can easily make him appear hard and wicked if you want to outsmart him in something he has vast knowledge about and expects you to follow due process. Ooh, did I say he hates cutting corners and passionately hates it when anyone tries to do so to get something from him? Eyiboh believes in due process. He believes that there is no shortcut to success. He believes that all he achieves today is the result of due process, hard work, smartness, and healthy relationships with people and he is trying as much as he can to inculcate the same in the younger ones, hence his inordinate involvement in the "reorientation" of the youths and the inculcation of "the mind power" among the youths.

This is why the average youths who do not want to plant but want to reap and the youths with a "get rich fast" mentality who do not want to follow due process with disciplines don't love Eseme Eyiboh. This is why they say he is a bad and hard person.

As can be seen today, where the country is headed, even our state, one won't be wrong to say that, we are in dire need of the personage of Eseme Eyiboh. At least we have come to a point in the country where what is made available to us by those in the upper echelon can no longer sustain us but we also need to be taught how to fish so that we can also be useful to our families and the society at large.

Hon. Eseme or the Prefered Eyiboh, like some people, would call it, is a special seed planted by God amid men.

Nairaland / General / NDDC Sole Administrator Snubs Youths, Escapes Through Back Door In Esit Eket by assamu1122(m): 7:19pm On Aug 19, 2021
It was long hours of commotion and unsettling with sporadic shooting by security personnel in Esit Eket after the burial of the younger sister of Sir Dan Abia, the former NDDC chairman, in esit eket LGA, on 7th August 2021, when Effiong Akwa, the NDDC Sole Administrator attempted to play smart on the teeming youths that waited for him to use the opportunity to address them.

As recounted by the eye witness, Akwa, in his usual cunning manner did not want to address the youths that gathered at the residence of Dan Abia after the burial of Mrs. Sara Dan Abia, to hear from him on the issues burdening the oil-producing community, saying in an attempt to dodge the youths as he usually does, he took off through the back yard of the house that leads to Etebi village.

"Effiong Akwa is a very stingy and crooked man who is not fit to occupy any public position such as NDDC office that deals with a robust relationship with the host communities in the Niger Delta region. It's on record that since Akwa was appointed Sole Administrator of NDDC, he has never stepped his legs to Esit Eket knowing too well that the position he occupies today is through the recommendation of Esit Eket man and it was on that premise that, the youths of the area expected him to cease some minutes to attend to them shortly after the burial. It was their right to be attended to by Akwa because Esit Eket is one of the core oil-producing communities in Niger Delta where Akwa is leading today as sole administrator" eye witness recounted.

Describing the action as cowardice and unbecoming of a true leader, Esit eket youth activist who did not want his name imprinted said, Akwa has disappointed the entire Akwa Ibom state and Niger Delta at large because of that singular act; "leadership of NDDC has never been this bad. It's obvious that NDDC under Effiong Akwa is a colossal failure and is deteriorating despite the effort President Buhari is putting to restructure the agency. As a matter of urgency, Buhari needs to sack Akwa and immediately constitute the NDDC board because since Akwa was appointed, he has not been able to bring anything to table and execute it successfully other than playing around the gallery.

"There are other competent Akwa Ibom people that can be appointed into NDDC board and not someone like Akwa who does not know anything about community and public relations. We no longer need Akwa in the saddle of NDDC leadership as his continual detention as Sole Administrator could lead to chaos and disharmony in Akwa Ibom state.

Meanwhile, sensing what happens outside that escalated to the neighboring community(Urua Okok), Sir Dan Abia, the host immediately stepped outside and talked to the irate youths to calm down saying, he will address them at the appropriate time.

It was at this point that the youths who blocked the road allowed Akwa and his security details to pass from where he escaped to hide.

Nairaland / General / The Suspension Of Abba Kyari By The IGP Is A Good One - Reno Omokri by assamu1122(m): 10:21am On Aug 01, 2021
The Suspension Of Abba Kyari By The IGP Is A Good One - Reno Omokri

The popular critic of President Buhari, Mr. Reno Omokri has commended the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba for the first step of recommending the immediate suspension of the DCP who is accused of being in business partnership with the International fraudster, Hushpuppy, by the FBI.

He said, the suspension is timely and that it's for the good of the country as it will help to salvage the image of the country from the International community.

"The recommendation for suspension of Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari, by the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, is a good first step. More needs to be done. The investigation needs to be thorough and devoid of ethnic and religious considerations. This is beyond Kyari. This is about Nigeria’s image. The public is already in possession of the text message exchanges between Kyari and Hushpuppi, and the numbers have been verified by TrueCaller. So, any attempt at sweeping this under the carpet will be an epic fail. Kyari can spend his suspension sewing natives".

Politics / BARR.ONOFIOK LUKE: A Man Dedicated To Duty by assamu1122(m): 9:26am On Apr 26, 2021
-By Unwana Assam, Eket

One aspect is electing someone into political office and another is for the person to understand the purpose and the reason for which he was elected to serve. Many political players dangle boots and wash their hands off straight away they are elected into political office forgetting in a rush the volumes of empty promises they made to their electorates.

The two-term House Of Assembly Member, former Speaker of Akwa Ibom State, and the current House Representatives member, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Onofiok Luke is one of the very few MPs from Akwa Ibom state who knows and understands the plight of the citizens as well as carrying out the job description he was elected by his people to serve and carry out in Abuja as stipulated in the Constitution and expected by his people.

We have seen some Members of Parliament in the state and frequently, people are forced to ask how a number of them made their way into the National Assembly? Whether people were hypnotized to vote for some of them or were nevertheless the same old techniques of inducing delegates with money and finally moved on to steer the electorates with identical. I mean, we have gotten a good number of the assembly members who hitherto do not understand their left to the right. We had few who since they were voted into office, never sponsored any bill neither is aware of wherein/a way to start from. Announcing some of them are only there to answer "honorable" and wagging their ego into being praised by the cheap audience in occasions, with hailing voices like "you are my leader" "give way to my leader" "onomkpoinam" even when the fellow is politically lazy. In all these the case of Onofiok Luke is distinct.

Other than serving his instantaneous constituency religiously in the National Assembly, Onofiok has additionally been a light bearer of Akwa Ibom kingdom in the countrywide assemblage and the youngsters ambassador in the state. No marvel he is popularly referred to as "the people's MP".

He has been on the course of making laws and delivers dividends of effective leadership for his people and Akwa Ibom State voluminously. He is a person with sizable and supernatural grace that anywhere he finds himself, he leaves lasting footprints.

How about his lifestyle? It won't be wrong opining the fact that Barr. Onofiok Luke is the typical example of a servant leader especially from this part of the world where someone of his caliber is hardly found to be so. Over the years, Barr. Onofiok Luke had offered himself as a sacrificial lamb strictly for service to humanity. He is humble and sociable to a fault. Open-minded, respectful, intelligent, down-to-earth, in fact he is a political guru. Someone who knows him well knows this article is not an attempt trying to synchronize sycophancy rather, describing the true nature of the man, Barr.Onofiok. Howbeit, suffice to say, as far as leadership and Akwa Ibom politics is concerned, Barr. Onofiok is one of the precious gifts to Akwa Ibom State he can't be enshrouded even in decades to come.

He has found himself a niche as a noble gentleman and for the people's MP to keep soaring like an eagle, one can only but pray for God's grace and protection for him.

The minister is said to be a very close confidant of the late Mohammed Yusuf, the assassinated leader of Boko Haram with whom he shared jihadist doctrines

The minister of digital communications in Nigeria, Alhaji Isa Pantami has fallen on the watchlist of the America’s Intelligence service. Pantami, also serves as the deputy secretary general of the Supreme Sharia Council in Nigeria.

It was after the September 11 attack that he suffered serious leg injury and was taken to Iraq for treatment where he spent a long time recovering.

They intend holding indigenous Nigerians hostage in their land ::

Religion / Why Sunday Is Important For All Christians by assamu1122(m): 8:15am On Apr 11, 2021
In the Bible, there is a day called Sabbath day. Sabbath day is the 7th day of the week which in our understanding is generally known as Sunday.

Sunday is a day set aside for every Christian all over the world to go to church and worship God. In Nigeria, it is a special day for the Christians where in some cases, some will postpone all the commercial activities and either rest or attend church service.

In the book of Genesis 2:2, on the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work.

The context of the book of Genesis 2:2 is so symbolic for all Christians where God himself had already shown the way. Every Christian honor Sunday as the only day of the week where God Himself set aside for rest and to worship him.

Therefore, Sunday is important for all Christians in the world, because it is a special day ordained by God himself for mankind to rest as well as worship him.
