ucham: Lol. The guy you are trying to reason with is clearly a mad man. If not, I see no other reason why a sane human will be shouting Geoffrey Onyema since yesterday like a rapid dog on heat. You can't reason with an senile homo erectus .Leave him be
I THINK OUR IGBO BROTHERS ARE BRILLIANT BUT STUBBORNESS IS WAT IS FAILING U IN POLITICS.
POLITICS IS RHETORIC AND SHOWMANSHIP, NOT STUBBORN.
SENSE!
Nwannem, were nwayo biko . This is just an ordinary post from me. It is not election time and there is no sign yet that an Igbo will be president in 2023. But we are hopeful. I have provided 10 names and I am not campaigning for any single one of them. Unlike me, you are fixated on one person: Onyeama. May I ask from what state in Igboland you are?
hammerVJ: OYA, REMOVE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING AND REPLACE WITH ONYEAMA.
MOGHALU ALREADY HAD HIS TIME AND FAILED.
Muoghalu is still a very viable candidate; I did not expect him to defeat a Buhari who actually did not win the election but rigged himself back in. Ben was found worthy to be appointed by one or two Yoruba governors, even when they did not have to appoint an Igbo. That goes to show he is qualified, detribalized, acceptable, and and knows Lagos politics some. There is a difference between that and Onyeam'a appointment by Buhari. Buhari is obligated by law to appoint at least one minister from each state. Onyeama was the lucky one from Enugu. Again, I repeat, in my opinion he has not done much.
ScotMisile: Anambra list... What is Obiano doing there, what is Ngige doing there. . Okadigbo said it. If your Education can not enable you to see beyond your tribe then your eduEducat I useless.
I am the poster and I am from Abia. Can you give me another list of 10 Igbos excluding the Anambra names I listed? I mean people with similar or more clout as all 10, but with no EFCC probes on their necks? Thanks
hammerVJ: LET ME TELL U WAT IS DELAYING IGBO PRESIDENCY?
THE FACT THAT SOME OF US ARE NOT FLEXIBLE ENOUGH.
IN ALL THOSE NAMES U PRESENTED, NOTICE I HAVE NOT KNOCKED ANY OF THEM.
IN A SEARCH, U GATHER THEM ALL.
IN UR CASE, U ARE STILL SEARCHING BUT AT THE SAMETIME LEAVING OUT SEASONED FIT CONTENDERS.
IS DAT WISE?
WE IGBOS HAVE TO BE FLEXIBLE AND ADAPTABLE AND ACCOMMODATING.
That is why I have 10 people from different parties, different sexes and different SE states. Even Oby that most don't like but who I personally see as qualified is on my last. My take on Onyeama is from what I see from the perspective of a Nigerian living in America. He has not achieved what is dearest to our hearts, which is the ability to vote in Nigerian elections. Please note that I am from Abia State, Umuahia precisely. Yet, my next post after the original one excluded 3 Abians because I know those three are crooks.
A National Literacy Survey (2010) conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics in Nigeria estimates the adult literacy rate as 56.9 percent, with huge variations between states (Lagos 92.0 % and Borno only 14.5%), regions (urban 74.6 % and rural 48.7%,) and sex (male 65.1% and female 48.6%). More importantly, statistics from the Federal Ministry of Education indicate that only 500,000 of the 40 million adult illiterates are enrolled in adult learning classes. There are also 3.5 million nomadic school-aged children with only 450,000 of them accessing any form of schooling. Nigeria is further saddled with the largest number of out-of-school-children estimated at over 7 million (10 percent of the global total). These are Northern states which have majority Muslim and pastoralist populations.
It says ''any form of schooling''..... So you can see that most Hausa-Fulani and Kanuri adults and kids are not even in Almajiri schools. They are normads tending to cattle in the bushes or just lazying about.
ahiboilandgas: then what do u think they read in almajiri school ? Their is virtually no Muslim northern that can read or recite arabic cos that the language for prayers which u must learn and recite ....so how do they read the Quran.....open your mind
Reading and writing is different from recitation by heart. You don't have to recite a book by reading it. You may be taught orally how to repeat lines of quoranic verses. All Almajiris recite by heart what they have been taught orally.
ahiboilandgas: that means u didn't read what I took time to write or u read without comprehending... literacy data are dole out on persons with ability to read English and write it.....for Nigeria but if u China literacy data will be based on education in mandara or Japan (Japanese)...if u use same parameter used in Nigeria for Japan (ability to read English-speaking)nigeria will be higher..... in the gloden years of Islamic science (trigonometry, optomtery space science ,irrigation) all have their root in Islamic science taught in arabic .....u can do a phd in hausa language...that why we have hausa and arabic new paper which an average almajiri can read and write
No that is not true. Literacy data world over is always based on ability to read and write ANY language, not just English. So, yes, Almajiris who can read and write in Arabic are counted in. What the data means is that majority of northerners, including Almajiris cannot red and write even in, Hausa or, Arabic, let alone in English.
IN ALL THOSE LIST U HAVE CHOSEN, ONYEAMA IS THE MOST DETRIBALISED.
HE IS ALSO THE MOST EXPOSED.
ONYEAMA IS MANAGING BUHARI FOREIGN POLICY, IF HE WAS TO BE PRESIDENT, THE FOREIGN POLICY WOULD BE VERY DIFFERENT.
IN MY OPINION, HE BELONGS IN THAT LIST.
WHO EVER BUHARI HANDS OVER TO, WILL BE ONE OF HIS OWN.
ONYEAMA IS AFFILIATED WITH BUHARI, IT IS WISE TO ADD HIM.
Anybody managing Buhari's foreign policy is a bad manager. Onyeama may be better under a different circumstance. But then he should not be working for a Buhari. Can you list one thing that he has achieved?
SLAP44: He clearly is not Igbo, anyone who is would be picking the right candidate. Enemies will always pick wrong choices.
Okay! But I am not sure why you think somebody like Ngige is not the right candidate. He has not been charged with any corruption that we know of, unless I am missing something. He served briefly in Anambra but I hear he made solid progress for the state during that brief period. I feel he has not done much under Buhari, likely because he is in the wrong ministry. If anyone is against him because he is APC, then as someone (I think GermanNig) noted above, Igbos alone cannot put anybody in ASO ROCK. We need to look beyond our noses
hammerVJ: PLEASE ADD HIM TO YOUR LIST ON FIRST PAGE.
HE DESERVE IT.
IT IS NOT EASY FOR AN IGBO MAN TO GET REAPPOINTED BY BUHARI.
IF HE CAN WORK WITH BUHARI, HE CAN MANAGE THIS COUNTRY.
NOTE UNLIKE ROTIMI AMAECHI, HE DID NOT BRIBE HIS WAY INTO BUHARI GOVERNMENT BY USING STATE FUNDS TO FUND PARTY.
Geoffrey Jideofor Kwusike Onyeama (born February 2, 1956)
Onyeama has a lot of personal achievements, no doubt. But unfortunately, he is not worthy to be on my first 10. He has no electoral experience. Moreover, I cannot readily see any great things he has achieved since becoming a minister in 2015. As a Nigerian in diaspora, I would love to be able to vote in an election in Nigeria, just like an American or a Brazilian who lives outside of their countries can vote. Onyeama could not deliver on that simple task that we gave him. Nigeria's foreign image is still bad, if not worse, under Buhari. What has Onyeama done to address that as a foreign minister? Look at the old sickly man, Sylvanus Nsofor, who is the Nigerian ambassador to the US? The Nigerian embassy here is now a total dead wood. Who approved of him, certainly another old sickly man, Buhari. However, Onyeama could not advise against such a silly appointment. In my HUMBLE opinion, he is a mediocre minister. May be he can make a third 11 list.
Banmeallday: Thank you OP for your deceit, Igbo dont want to be President of a Nigger Area, but to be free and answer their real African name of Biafran....
You can keep all those rogues you have rigged in or gave publicity to for shouting One Nigeria.
Where is Moghalu now.....?
Nwanna, sorry for your sifia pain . Biafra will come if it will. It is up to all Igbos, not just IPOB, to agree on the time. For now, there is no agreement and until then, we must live like other Nigerians, politically.
SLAP44: You must understand, some of those people you reply to are not even Igbos. Some are just here to cause mischief.
I may be wrong, but from his argument he seems clearly Igbo. However, he seems to be fixated on Ngige and hateful of Obi, whereas he should have an open mind to any viable candidate.
ahiboilandgas: let me educated you a little almajiri are educated and can read and write in arabic symbols ,word etc literacy is not only ability to read English and write it .....nope literacy mean ability to read and write ,mandarin,Dutch,German,French, arabic ,hausa, ibo ,Yoruba ,ijaw ....all items in chemistry can be develop in other languages aside English....the problem of the almajiri school system is the begging attach to it,it needs reform and new curriculum where parent must fend for their kids and teaching should not only be religious but other item like science, maths ,reasoning, geography can be taught in arabic in the almajiri school
So why then is the illiteracy rate in many northern states as high as 80 to 90%?
UdechiHD: True! For me I'll always support an Ngige anytime than Adanma.
I gave 10 names on the list -that's more than enough to chose one person from. You should not be trying to force others to support your preferred candidate. You should be arguing with facts, not fiction and emotion.
UdechiHD: Every politician is a thief. From north, west, east and south. Peter Obi is dirty and was fortunate to have used tribal politics to defeat Chris Ngige in his 2nd term. Had Ngige won that election, foul nyash would have open. I repeat, the only clean politician in Anambra state is Chris Ngige. Peter Obi is an hypocrite who invested Anambra stare money into his personal business. Rochas stole flamboyantly but Peter Obi stole hypocritically.
Ngige was on my original list already. And only one of them can be president at a time. You need to clean your vision so you see properly.
Arda1000: Low IQ syndrome she's igbo(,) just like when an Igbo woman marries an Hausa automatically she's an Hausa (and) there she will be buried.
Seems like you live in Mars and don't know how the politics of Nigeria works. This is my post that you are responding to, and you have the nerve to call me low IQ? Just look at your grammar construction - very laughable.
UdechiHD: The only APC member in that list is not even really a staunch party man in the person of Sullivan Chime.
The likes of Rochas and Orji Uzor Kalu are painted black in the list.
Ogbonnaya Onu also has the electoral experience too and would have been a good Presidential candidate if not for his political silence. I think the likes of Onu,Amaechi and Rocha's should jostle for the APC ticket. While others vie for that of the PDP.
6. Dr. Chris Ngige (former Gov. of Anambra; has executive experience, has administrative experience, was/is a medical officer, and actually a very serious minded person; he is in the ruling party) 8. Mr. Sullivan Chime, former Governor of Enugu State (has executive experience; left Enugu state much better than he met it; he is in the ruling party now) 9. Mr Ben Akabueze (former Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning under Tinubu and Fasola; he is in the ruling party)
Which Rochas are you talking about? The one who stole billions from Imo? Which Kalu? The one who stole billions from Abia and gave them a string of mediocre leaders in TA Orji and Okezie?
Amaechi is great; but he is not SE. This is not a list of SS Igbo leaders
GavelSlam: I wasn't the only one that watched the debate.
By the way, you cannot assure me.
I also watched the debate. If I sensed he was corrupt, let alone loving corruption, he won't be on my list. You can see how carefully chosen that list is. In general, Nigeria as a whole lacks a large pool of good leaders who are well known to the general public. There could be some secret good leaders but they need to come out.
olu77: Impressive list in my opinion. Who will bell the cat? In other words who will vote someone that has sense? People will rather vote Deziani if she contest against any of this credible - to some extent - options. They will be like 'she has repented, she used to be a thief but she is now a saint.'
Diezani is not Igbo. She is Ijaw (even if maried to an Igbo)
