Hotworta1:What are you watching? Where did you see tribalism in the video? |
DrNueLpureHoney:Okay! |
DrNueLpureHoney:This is not tribalism. The topic may sound so, but please read the post itself |
These two videos show clearly that it is not only Igbos under attack. Yorubas are also under serious attack and are defending themselves, like the Igbos. And for those who are still under the illusion that only Igbos are in SA; ask yourself why a Yoruba is the current president of Nigerian Association in SA. You think Igbos only put him there? The previous president was an Igbo. It is turn by turn These videos are a good reason to eschew tribalism on this issue and work together to fight (by any means possible) two common enemies: the SA people and the stupid Nigerian government who cannot protect its citizens whether home or abroad. Video 1: Igbos in defense mode in SA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMBNPhCAS7E Video 2: Yorubas in defense mode in SA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yCCnwiLoIY |
frosbel2: My dear friends, the are almost as many yorubas (westerners) in SA, so it's not about going back to the east.Correct the two videos show clearly that it is not only Igbos under attack |
Jumlek2411:Not some. Most |
Larryfest:Actually, very few Nigerians (less than 1%) are into crime in SA. It's just that crime is always an attractive thing to report on. |
If these xenophobic hoodlums destroy all of this how do you suppose this person and others like him can start afresh?
|
Thankfully, he is safe for now. But he and his family are holed up at home for 2 days now.

Don't believe everything you are hearing about Nigerians in SA. There are between 30-40 K Nigerians living in SA. The overwhelming majority of those are legal residents and do legal jobs. This is what one of them does for a living; I know him personally. As you can see in the fotos, he even has South Africans (the lady in second photo) working for him.
|
If I must die, I 'd rather die defending myself than die like a chicken. Hopefully, the equally hateful and xenophobic SA police will not start shooting these people defending themselves, even as they (SA police) have not shot a single of the SA hooligans. |
Meanwhile..........................................................Nigeria and Nigerians are the playground of the world. On the one hand, Chinese, Lebanese, other Arabs, British, Americans, South Africans, Malians, Togolese, Cameroonians (just name it) come to Nigeria, set up businesses, degrade their Nigerian workers (physically, mentality and psychologically), make tons of money, and take the money back home. In this process they defraud the Nigerian system, pay little to no tax, and go unscathed. Thanks to your corrupt politicians and law enforcement; thanks to the ever docile and ignorant citizens. Malians, Guineans, Senegalese, Nigeriens, etc are part of the Fulani herdsmen-without borders who come into Nigeria, kidnap you, extort you, rob you, terrorize you, rape your women, maim you, kill you, and destroy your agricultural systems. They are foreigners in your country, but they do as they, please often lethally, and in connivance with certain people in your own government. On the other hand, Nigerians go elsewhere, many are genuine and law abiding; others commit crimes or engage in fraudulent activities (like some foreigners in Nigeria also do). They are easily arrested, jailed, killed or maimed, and their genuine livelihoods destroyed. What happens from the Nigerian government side? NOTHING. Either way, Nigeria and Nigerians are the playground of the world. They kill you in your country; they kill you in their country. Nigeria is right now the most useless country in the world ruled by useless leaders and populated by useless citizens. |
valentineuwakwe:I think he can only talk or write about it. There is not much he can do practically, for a variety of reasons (i) he is not a politician (ii) he is under the employment of SA govt (Stellenbosch is a public university, and #3 ranked in SA) (ii) some Nigerians (again, few) have been involved in criminal activities, of which somebody of his caliber cannot be seen to be defending. The onus is on the Nigerian govt to do something. |
madenigga:They don't know any better. There are many Nigerian professors in SA universities. |
RTSC2:Dude, we are making the same point. So quit backing up the wrong tree. Nigerians love foreigners more than they love themselves, which is both good and bad. |
Iamgrey5:We are talking of Nigerians in SA, not black South Africans |
AtikuNetwork:Most of those killed (again not only Nigerians) are actually law abiding. As is the case with things like this, the few bad eggs bring everyone else down. |
kayfra:Is there any reason he cannot be ''one of the highest ranked'', if not ''the highest ranked'', Nigerian in SA? We know most Nigerians in SA are lowly self-employed folks doing genuine businesses. A few others are criminals running around with drugs and internet fraud activities. Others are in the academia, prof Opara being one of such. I'd like to see how many other Nigerians in SA hold such an intimidating professional profile as Opara. Or you want to mention the Nigerian ambassador to SA? Well, with all due respect, he/she is not really in SA working for an SA entity and is not a ''professional'', but a political appointee, positions often made out of nepotism and cronysm. |
wakaman:How can this not be unimportant to you? Archetypal ''non-Yamree |
DrNueLpureHoney:Available information indicates that not only Nigerians are killed. In fact, Nigerians are the least killed of all Africans. They are just the most vocal of those killed. SA is a den of xenophobia |
Banmeallday:It is not in the name. Or is it? |
I know he is not a politician or a diplomat, but I wonder what he thinks about other Africans (in his case Nigerians) being killed in SA Meanwhile..........................................................Nigeria and Nigerians are the playground of the world. Available estimates from Statistics South Africa and the United Nations show that over 30,000 Nigerians live in South Africa. Data reveal that 127 Nigerians have been killed in three years, while 13 out of these were reportedly killed by South African police. Aug 2http://saharareporters.com/2019/08/02/list-nigerians-killed-south-africa-2019 30K Nigerians in SA is a very very very tiny fraction of both the Nigerian and the SA population. How come this is happening? |
DrNueLpureHoney:Please say your mind. Silence is the worst form of docility |

ProfBrugo:Those in the video spoke Yoruba. They are Yoruba ''criminals'' in SA. Just last month, a Yoruba ''criminal'' was strangled by SA police. It was on video and posted here on NL |
Dudeweedlmao:You really think this was about Nigerians committing crime in SA? You better think again; they are killing all Africans, not just Nigerians |
Harlem2:Old is in the eyes of the beholder Can you define old for him? |
kayusely70:That does not stop the news from being true. Everything old was once new. How old is old sef? |
