Please, can anyone who has already bought the phone check if it supports Glo 4G? I have a friend here who wants to buy the phone but we need to find that out first. I myself might buy the phone, because I used both C8 & C9 (still using C9) and I enjoyed them. I actually convinced him to choose the phone to buy but we just need to know if it supports Glo 4G because that's very crucial grin the data plans on Glo are killer and 4G network is amazing on campus here. I appreciate your feedback. . .thanks

Yes it does support Glo 4G network band.

Hey All grin

I got to unwrap this beauty last week.
I give it to Tecno, when it comes to packaging and aestethics, they try.

Lately, I've been exposed to some smartphone brands that do not operate in Nigeria and when it comes to Packaging, Tecno stands out.

A round of applause for them cheesy

Okay, to the business of the day.

We see a shift from what we know of the C9.
The back of the phone has a metal build.

There's the fingerprint scanner.

And the pouch is very different from what we are used to from Tecno mobile.

Even the shape of the SIM ejector pin is different this time.

I saw two flash lights beside the secondary camera and something that looks like a ringer flashlight at the rear camera...this is in addition to the usual camera lens.

Now, I understand why some folks were spreading rumours that the CX has four cameras.

Talking about the feel of the phone. Well, if I say I'm not impressed, I'm lying.

One thing I wasn't happy about was the idea of sacrificing one simslot for SD card.
Like seriously angry

I aired out my complaint and I was taught how to merge SD card and internal memory on a one time basis. More on this later.

There's one speaker at the bottom right hand corner, but the sound it produces gives impression there are speakers on all sides of the phone. More on this later.

The earpiece is the normal type. I have decided not to use it. grin

The charger is a 2.0A type. Means enough battery juice in a short time.

There's no physical key.

Generally, in terms of design, I see major improvements.

Will same be said about it's performance? Please stay tuned to this moniker for more information.

For now, I'll just let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

Have a fabulous week Dearieskiss

Nice one.

Phones / Innjoo 4 Set To Bag Innjoo Best Smartphone Award by Astutechris(m): 11:15am On May 24, 2017
For the second time in a row, InnJoo makes it to the final of the Melco Awards, thanks to the InnJoo 4 innovations.

Melco Awards is a business show that is set to take place this coming June 6 and 7 at the Palacio de Congressos de Zaragoza.

This time, InnJoo has been nominated in the category of “Best Smartphone”; InnJoo 4 being the smartphone that made them get into the category.

The defense will take place in an open space where any participants that wish to attend will be allowed to do so, alongside the judges in order to achieve greater transparency in the process of choosing the winners.

The defense of candidacies as well as the election of winners and the Awards Gala will take place on the first day of the event which is Tuesday, June 6.

In the event, InnJoo will present some of its innovations such as the InnJoo 4; a smartphone allows users to get the most out of their 2.5GHz Deca-core processor. Its 3400mAh battery fully charges to 100% in about 1 hour and can achieve 220 hours in standby and 15 hours in talktime. The smartphone comes with 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage and supports micro SD cards of up to 128GB.

Interbox, which is the organisation sponsoring the Melco Awards will have the fifth edition of the Melco in two zones, an exhibition area where the manufacturers will present to the public their innovations, as well as an open space where buyers meet with the manufacturers.

GSMArena is no doubt a spot for amazing reviews and specs of almost all phone in the world. If you need to know anything about any phone, just visit GSMArena. But in case of Tecno phones, you can't find any reviews of them on GSMArena.

If you have ever noticed, GSMArena have never listed Tecno in it reviews...this is awful, Tecno being one of the largest Android phone manufacturer in Nigeria and West Africa at large.

Though, being on GSMArena does not tell the quality of the phone. Afterall, Wiko is a very low and inferior phone comparing to Tecno , yet Wiko get featured on GSMArena.

But as for Tecno, they can't get listed because even though Tecno is a Chinese company and they are not an inferior brand, they sell their phones only in Africa; West Africa to be specific. They stopped selling phones in Asia since 2008 to focus on Africa.

To Nigeria, Tecno is a great company but to the rest of the world, they are absolutely nothing. Tecno is not a 'Global Brand'.

Tecno is doing very great in Nigeria and some parts of Africa, but that where it ends. They urgently need to do more to get recognized.

Anyway, Tecno get featured in great Nigerian blogs like Misstechy, Geek.ng, Techpoint, Techloy, Bestmobs and lots more, but they still need international exposure.

Let me hear your thought via the comment box.

Phones / How To Spot A Fake Infinix Hot 4 (infographic) by Astutechris(m): 3:23pm On May 23, 2017
Infinix Hot 4 is one of the most popular Infinix phones and like most popular Infinix phones, you will always find a fake copy of them in the market.

Luckily you can be able to differentiate between a fake Hot 4 and an original one from Infinix with the information contained in the image below.

What I keep wondering though is why always Infinix? Infinix phones are not the most popular in the world. I'm not sure I have ever seen a fake Samsung phone for instant.

Phones / Transsion Holdings Produced Over 79 Million Smartphone In 2016 by Astutechris(m): 10:21am On May 20, 2017
Let me guess, you are probably wondering who the h*ll is Transsion Holdings?

Well, they are the parent company of Infinix, Tecno and Itel. These three smartphone brands produced over 79 million smartphones between them last year (2016) alone. That’s a lot of smartphones, isn’t it?

The saying “a prophet is without honor in his home town” holds true for this company.

Transsion is a Chinesse phone maker based in Shenzhen, but not many Chinese have heard of them, sames goes for the brands under them but they have over 100 million users in Africa. (Infinix, Tecno and Itel users combined).

According to their vice president Arif Chowdhury, their factories have a total production capacity of 300,000 phones per day.

“A decade ago, the sales were less than one million, mainly in India and Bangladesh. Transsion became successful only when it put almost all of its attention on the African market,” said Chowdhury, who is from Bangladesh.

In 2016, Transsion produced 79.91 million phones, about 80 times the volume ten years ago. I’m guessing they now have more smartphones than user, and perhaps that’s the reason we have only seen one set of smartphone launch from Infinix (Infinix S2 and Infinix S2 Pro) so far, compared to three set (Hot 3, Hot 4 and Hot S series) of smartphones from them as of this time last year. Just guessing.

According to technology consultant firm Counterpoint Technology Market Research, Transsion’s market share in 2016 was about 40 percent in Africa, beating bigger competitors such as Samsung, Gionee and Huawei.

Their vice president has likened what Transsion is in Africa to what Nokia whas in China years ago.

“For a company to succeed, we need to find out what exactly people want. African users like selfies, multiple phone card slots, enabling local language, stable music function and longer battery life,” said Chowdhury.

The company was said to have organized 200 technicians to improve camera function and calibrate the exposure to suit darker skin tones.

“We have dual-card, triple and even four-card phones, because there are many phone operators in Africa, and it is expensive to dial between networks,” said the vice president.

The company hope to continue their expansion with recent moves by Tecno to penetrate the Middle East. This include their launch of Tecno Phantom 6 and Phantom 6 Plus in Dubai late last year and their recent launch of some series of smartphones in India.

Phones / Re: New Android OS: Android Go To Be Used On Cheaper Android Phones by Astutechris(m): 7:52pm On May 18, 2017
Milo30:
While cause seems noble, unless Google might push this by themselves, this may not leave the ground.

First of all, it goes against the main market strategy, which is to sell the most expensive device possible. Why do you think flagships only get more expensive? Africa has already caught the fever. How many "cheap" phones do you see around anymore?

Secondly, what part of the market are they competing with? Are they aiming to blot out feature phones (torch light), force manufacturers to sell cheaper phones, or create an entirely new market? The Android One idea worked really well because it was the ticket Infinix needed to grab a good hold of the market share (or basically customers). Now that they are all big boys, I don't think they will want to play that card anymore. E.g. Itel. Think about that move with the S30 wink

Lastly, the majority of the customers get this phones, just to intimidate one another. This is a known fact, and has been Android's success model (and pretty much everybody else) ever since. How many Instagram "snap myself in the mirror" pictures do you see low end phones? NONE. Basically, we all want a higher end phone.

So I think that unless Google is going to roll out baby Pixel or Nexus models (that's right, LOL) and aggressively market it, this Go ship might not float.

Heck we can't even get OS updates for most phones from Tecno and friends. Lets see how it goes anyway.

Hmmm....nice argument. Let's just sit back and observe them.
